Good evening all! Got back in tonight after a long weekend involved in scuba training. Jim will know what this is about. I took a DIR fundamentals seminar this weekend put on by a group of technical oriented divers that really know their stuff. Lots of drills and exercises to get the divers trim and buoyancy down while doing air shares and other skills. Sounds easy enough, but it's difficult to hover in the water within two feet and not move.......
Arch your back, pull up your knees, get your head back further. :fish: Hard, but fun in a weird kind of way!! (kind of like being married) :rotfl2:

:thewave: Congratulations to Lisa. Talk about hard work!!! Way to go!! Mom and Dad must be SOOO proud, and with all the Banfi celebration, Dad is feeling Very Good, in more than one way!! :drinking1

Did DD do the class with you? Did they make you change your equipment set up to be DIR?

Red is stopping by tonight to give DS his Master Diver Card. Now he has more certifications than I do. :confused3 I guess I will need to get to work on my next one!

:flower1:Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Happy Monday!

Back to work for me and unfortunately I feel like
Not really sick but I didn't sleep well at all and feel kind of wired. Didn't even take anything as the Nyquil I took the night before had me all wired. Yuck! If I didn't have so much going on at work I'd stay home, but there are things that have to be done.

No, Alicia sat this one out! I think that she would be better at the skills than some of the other participants though...... She could use some "team awareness" work though. :earseek:

I've been diving the DIR setup for awhile now. I like the streamline effect and simplicity of the gear! Have you ever tried it? Awesome!

Way to go Matt! "Master Diver"!! :sunny: I'm all for additional training. On the job skills are good, but you also need to push yourself to the next level sometimes too!

You're a Trooper Mary!! :cheer2: Hope that work load doesn't kick your cold/sickness up to the next level...... have a great day!!

Have a great day!

Ditto all of that. :flower: So who can tell me about the jeep rental on Cozumel. I have a feeling that DH and DS might prefer that to dolphins. If I recall, this in one that DSL doesn't offer, but can be booked on our own. Is it in a group, or are you on your own? Do they have an itinerary that you follow? Also I'm assuming that it can be a jarring ride; would it be OK for someone with back problems? I was also looking at the package sea lion and dolphin encounter and saw that there were no available times for our day in Cozumel. I was surprised that it would be booked up this far in advance.

OK, someone posted this link on the main page about ATV and jeep tours:

http://cozumelcruiseexcursions.com/atvjungletour.htm
So I guess some of my questions can be answered there. The ATV does sound fun...:cool1:
Stupid question, but how exactly do you pronounce Chankanaab?:confused3

Well, I know how I pronounce it, but I wouldn't want to risk the ridicule here!

Alicia's dance commitments have to come before scuba diving fun. She had a show to do this weekend. It was heartbreaking, because she's truly fond of diving at the lake in the middle of winter. NOT!!!!!

I think there are also some little jeeps you can rent on costa maya. They haev updated their web site and shows all of the excursions available on the island. Of course, it does state that cost varys by cruise line.

Today is the first official day of spring break. I worked on the kids closets yesterday, but just can't manage to start on mine today. Have to get it done because they will be here in about 10 days to start the expansion project on the closet.

Photo Gallery Update!

I got Jilliebean's photo up and also got a photo from Pam. Pam I didn't get any info from you so I took it all from Amanda's list. Please check things on the site and if you want send me the additional info (birthdays and anniversary) and I'll update the chart.

Thank you Mary! :sunny:

Oh boy. We have done a crazy thing. We had planned on going to D.C. for a week in July (over KT's birthday) Mike had the week scheduled off, but we've been so busy we haven't firmed up any plans (hotel, etc)

Well, Sunday at church in the bulletin was a call for a physician or nurse for the summer church camp. It's the SAME week we had planned (and I use that term lightly) D.C. So I called for info. Well, turns out, Mike is going to be camp doctor and I'm going to be (gasp) a cabin counsellor :faint: :scared:  :crazy2: :worried:  :hyper: :sad2: :scared1: I think the smilies say it all.

Mike has informed me that the medical cabin will have it's own shower and will be air conditioned. And my cabin will have neither. :earseek: I hope God knows what he's doing.

Maybe I should stay home while Mike, KT and Nick go. You know, to watch the house and all.....

Just keep telling yourself: "It's for the children"!!

Karen - sounds like a great family trip.

Couldn't you always sneak away from the kids for some mushy face and a shower with the camp's doctor. ;)

Photo Gallery Update!

We have another new addition - got a picture from Virgil today (WVMD). Come and meet Virgil and his great family today in the photo gallery.

I can tell you about this (BTW, I just got back from cooking class so the fingers are not working all that well. We had just a little bit of wine tonight) We did this about two years ago. Had a great time. We booked our own trip through the two english ladies. I will have to hunt their information down. We meet them at the McDonalds across from the pier. Everyone rents their Jeeps from the same firm so they all have the same beat up Jeeps. We only had 5 Jeeps in our group and had fun. Everyone pretty much goes to the same spots, but what makes the difference is the size of the group and the leaders. The ladies did a fine job. Had a great lunch. Went snorkling. Welll worth the money.

I really hope I can find their information as I would use them again. It was worth having a small group, fun people, and good food.

Now I understand the strain in Kevin's emails. Alicia had to make the choice between making dad happy or mother happy. Oh the sorrow! To bad she choice poorly and went dancing instead (this is what we call "stirring the pot") :guilty:

We don't want any counselers visiting the good doctor during the night!! That is not something that should be happing at church camp!!!!;)

Actually, I think it is great. That is what family stories come from. The kids will always remember this and you will have stories to tell for years to come.

Also, I'm glad it is you and not me! :cool1:
