DH is younger, but with his very gray beard makes me look younger. That's the way to do it...:love2:

OH MY!

We just got an email from the breeder. She has found Maggie a new home. Don't get me wrong....I'm happy she's found a new home for her, but I wasn't prepared for what she has told me. I'm not sure I can tell KT. She will break down, scream, yell, her head will spin, she'll turn every shade of red.

KT predicted it. When she knew Maggie was going, and that the breeder would more than likely re-home her, KT said she'd fear that Maggie would go to live somewhere in Michigan and that we'd never see her again (mostly b/c KT would never step foot in the state of Michigan unless she was an OSU cheerleader and HAD to do it)

Well, she's going to Michigan. As a companion dog. So there's little chance she'll be on the field trial circut and we could see her somewhere in Ohio.

I highly doubt that the OSU collar she was wearing when she left here will last long in Michigan. I guess I can always hold out hope that they are Buckeye transplants just living in Michigan for now.

I know a lot of you are talking about excursions. Has anyone ever cruised and not done any excursions? I was thinking that since our two will be so young, that we'll just stay on the ship. With the exception of CC, of course. :cool1: Or, should I be researching excursions that will take our young DDs?

Our first cruise (4 day) we didn't get off the ship except for CC.
Our second cruise (3 day) we didn't get off the ship except for CC.
Our third cruise (4 day) we ONLY got off the ship at Nassau b/c my neice was along and had never stepped foot on foreign soil....I only agreed to get off the ship on a few conditions..#1, my kids would stay in the club, #2, I would not eat or drink anything in Nassau and #3, we WOULD be back on the ship by lunchtime. Within 15 minutes we were all looking at each other wondering WHY we got off the ship. We did get off at CC, of course!

Our 4th cruise we did do some excursions b/c it was a 7 day and 7 days seemed like a long time to stay on a ship without getting off. Same goes for cruise #5, a 10 day.

HTH.

Angie, our last cruise 11/27 we did not plan any excursions for 2 reasons. 1) the cruise be4 that 10/03 we had one in every port and we felt like were rushung everywhere 2) because Nathan was only 1 and 1/2. It was fine. We did get off in St Maarten and went on our to a beach. and of course Castaway Cay. It was fine. My kids prefer to be on the ship! LOL

We did excursions on our previous cruises. Although, the only reason we did excursions on our last western cruise was because it was the kids' first time to cruise. We had fun watching Mike and Maggie snorkel and discover various aquatic life - at times a bit too up close and personal for Maggie's tastes, but she was a trooper.

This go-around we're planning on staying on board or catching a taxi to Paradise Beach. We're looking forward to Castaway Cay, but have a "been there done that" attitude towards Cozumel and are looking forward to spending time on the ship. The kids loved their activities and looking at the navigators, there are many more I'd like to participate in both as a family and solo...

Besides, staying on board in port gives more more time to relax in the rainforest on a lounge chair!!! ;)

Monica

Since the excursion topic has started already, is it too early to ask where everyone is staying the night before?

Just got next year's school calendar - the kids get out of school the Wednesday before we sail...That would give us 2 extra days... :cool1:

Tossing around visiting Cape Canaveral and NASA even though we are about 1 mile from Johnson Space Center here in Houston...John can't believe I don't want to cram extra time in with the mouse; I just can't see starting the vacation tired and cranky from trying to cram too much into the two days before we sail...And yes, that's me tired and cranky - not the kids... :rotfl:

We are going to do a week at the parks before the cruise. I have done the parks and I have done DCL, but have never been able to do it at the same time ina great 2 week long vacation! That is what is going to happen next year! WOOHOO!

When are your kids getting out of school next year? Emily won't get out until May 26. It amazes me how county to county is so different - even in the ATL metro area.
