Jim,

Matt is "looking good" in his new copper wetsuit. I like the matching mask strap pad! Very chic!!

Is that me? I feel the love! We will miss Bear at second seating. :goodvibes

Yes I meant you guys (along with Karen's family). Nice response tho - you'll miss Bear. What are Mark and I chopped liver?

Hmm... looks like pate' will be offered in the early seating!

I will still be early seating. And my sister, Elizabeth is coming. Yea!!!!
Maybe my 9yo nephew, but that is pretty doubtful. I have made the resv for him to keep the space.

Diana - Jesse has a heart murmur (sp) and he takes enalapril and lanoxin. Thankfully the vet tech holds him for the echo, I just stand at his head and love him. Poor Elvis and you :grouphug: , Jesse is a dear with the vet .

A man who owned waterfront property was irked by a manatee that
constantly swam offshore. He resolved to rid himself of the troublesome
creature. Calling to it, he asked, "What's your name?" "Hugh," the
manatee replied, swimming over to the man. The man grabbed Hugh and
beat him. The police arrested the man. In court, his lawyer argued the
case should be thrown out because assault against a marine mammal is
not an offense. The judge ruled otherwise. "Clearly," he said, "this
is a crime against Hugh manatee."

Speaking of dinner, I am still wrestling with the early/late dilemma... everyone so highly praises late; having never cruised DCL, but many other cruises, late always seemed like a terrible option.

But at the same time, I'd rather stay away from having dinner with the entire toddler set, and would love to join the rest of you, who all seem to have late seating.

Advice????

We are staying with early dinner. Yes, it is a rush to get to early dinner, but then it would be a rush to get to early shows. I like to eat early and my kids would bug me to death if they had to eat late. We have another family that will be cruising with us and they definitely want the early seating too. I think you will see that there will be pretty much a split on those going to early and those going to late.

Isn't that such a fun stage... and the minute you come back to the table with one, the other has to go...

Ohhhh ... sooo true!! Tonight proved it! A record 4 trips to the restroom - first the Ashley, then Emily twice, then Ashley again! Thank goodness it was bar-b-que ribs so it didn't matter that they were lukewarm.

Kikipug, no offense taken about the toddlers. Hope DS is feeling better soon.

Hey Kevin, Jim anyone...I am looking for good snorkel sets for not a lot of money. Any ideas?

Oh my stars....what a day........

Amanda, the first time we took a friend on one of our extended snorkeling trips, she got her gear at Sports Authority...which is where I got the kids' gear, also. They grow so fast I wasn't going to get them anything really expensive.

Jared's baseball league had their team picture day and fund-raising carnival........80-some degrees out there, and I am operating a "Bungee-Run". Huge inflatable tracks, strap the kids into vests that have a bungee cord on the back, attached to a rubber wall....they run as hard as they can, until the bungee cord snaps them back against the wall! Very fun to watch, but it was really hot up there, and harder than heck to walk back and forth. A lot like the inflatable jumping castles and such that they have at kids' birthday parties. The GOOD part was when I was done, and got off the thing....I felt like I had "sea legs"!! Closed my eyes, stood in the shade, and imagined I was up on Deck 10 heading for Scoops!!!
I guess I wasn't thinking....forgot the sunscreen....face looks like a rpe tomato!!
He has a game at 1:00 tomorrow.......I will be wearing a HAT and sunscreen!:sunny:

Thanks Stace. I saw some at SAMs that looked pretty good, but I wasnt sure of the quality. It was made by body glove.
Does anyone know how many posts or pages are allowed in a thread?

I don't think there's a limit to the number of posts or pages....the Christmas thread has almost 26,000.........

Body Glove should work nicely for you. Make sure you clean the mask after you get it home and check the fit. If it isn't tight enough around your face, it will leak. You'll know the fit is good if you are left with a big red hickey mark on your face!:earseek: just kiddin'!!

Body Glove sells some good stuff. Mask fit is most important thing. Check the seal around the silicone skirt visually and make sure it fits to the face with no holes or gaps. You can put it on your face and inhale lightly, it should suck down and create a tight seal to the face.

Like Stacey mentioned, before you wear it underwater, you must clean it with standard toothpaste. The mask lens has a film on it to protect it during shipping. Once this is cleaned off it won't fog as easily using a defog.

Snorkels are pretty basic. You get pretty much the same results from a cheap snorkel as you do from a more expensive model. The basic "J-shape" are fine. You can get the ones with sloping divertors on the top to keep small waves from choking you, it that is important to you. The dry snorkels are more money and they would not be my first choice. Make sure the little diaphragm is in the bottom of the snorkel mouth piece purge portion. They have been known to go missing and that is a important part.

Hope that helped! Don't pay a lot for something the kids will out grow soon anyway. Now, if it's for you or DH, get a good mask, it will pay BIG dividends in the comfort level of the experience.

Early yesterday afternoon our friends from MI called and said they would be here at 3 PM instead of 10 PM. No problem. Great people and we enjoy them. This time they brought 3 college guys with them. Nice guys.

Can they ever eat!

I offered a snack before they went to the beach. Two bags of chips, all the salsa, all the cheese....gone.

For dinner we went with volumn. Nothing groumet...Just Tacos. I cooked up 40 shell, 6 lbs of beef, 8 tomatos....you get the idea.

I may have to make a run to the store this morning to restock the kitchen before the eating machines wake up. The funny part is that DS is right in there with them. He ate just as much as they did.

They are heading today to MCO. They have a time share. Since DS does not have school tomorrow he is going to be their guide to MK. Tough day for him, having to hang out at MK with 3 college guys.

Off to the kitchen to start cooking......:sunny:

:flower1:Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Happy Sunday!

Woke up to a very cold day here in Chicago - only 13 right now. I'm ready for Spring!

Jim - Matt sounds like he has a fun day ahead. Hope everyone else has a great day as well.

I bought Body Glove snorkel gear from Sports Authority several years ago, and it's just fine for the few times a year that I use it... then again, I don't know enough to be picky about it... I see cool fish, I don't drown or inhale water, so it works for me.

Mary- so sorry for your cold weather... I am enjoying my Sunday morning coffee by the pool... it's a beautiful FL morning here!!

I am not the least bit surprised that Matt can keep up with the "Big Dogs"!! I seem to recall that he ate dinner twice at Christmas........
When I was growing up, it was like that at our house all the time. I have two older brothers, and our house was the social center. There were some Saturday and Sunday mornings that my Mom had to send Dad back to the store twice. As the little sister, you must know that I hated having all those guys in the house! (sure....I also have a bridge I can sell you.....)

Stay warm, Mary....spring is just around the corner.:sunny:

Looks like the same exact requirements I was looking for KIKI! THAnks for sharing! LOL
