. Anyone ever done a solo trip? Do you all think I would enjoy myself? Better yet, is anyone going to be in the area that would want to visit the parks with me, or go to DTD?
Last May, As only a good friend would, I made the sacrifice to leave the family at home with dh and spend a few days at WDW joining a childhood friend who was competing in the 1/2 ironman triathlon.

She competed - I didn't - I was her "groupie - fan club" But, since she had professional sponsorship obligations before the race, went to bed early the night before and left on an earlier flight than I did, I spent quite a bit of time on my own and I had a blast!!! I saw what I wanted to see, did what I wanted to do, when I was done - I was done... We were also able to do a backstage tour of WDW - I was tempted to do another tour on my own - but, the hours didn't work out with my flight home.
I even was befriended by two 10 year olds while waiting in line for the tower of terror - I had never experienced it before and they shared their enthusiasm, and gave me plenty of tips, and warnings...
I think I drove John crazy, I'd call him with periodic updates of where I was and what I was doing...In theory, so he could "enjoy" the experience with me.
The best part, we decided, was seeing all of the hot, whiney kids, and stressed out parents, knowing that we weren't responsible for any of them!!!
IMHO, between "blowing bubbles" and the mouse- I'd choose a Mickey fix over scuba any day!!! (I'm not certified, I'm a former scuba widow-if there is such a thing - he doesn't have opportunities to dive around here)
