You have GOT to be kidding me!!

When and if I finally get rid of the last one, I'm selling the house and moving. If I can't do that fast enough, then I'm getting an unlisted number and changing the locks on the doors.

That reminds me of John's parents - as fast as he was moving into the apartment, they were remodeling their house tearing out the walls in his bedroom. He had no choice, but to marry me - he couldn't move back home...:lmao:

Someone suggested a pink plastic basket and sparkly streamers hanging from the handle bars of my walker.....do you think that would be sufficient to embarrass my children?? :lmao: :lmao:

I'm going to make sure that they go away, and never want to come back.:rotfl:

We are DEFINITELY in that "don't embarrass me, mom" stage.

If the kids are acting up, all I have to do is threaten them that I'll start dancing. That's turns them around! :)

U TOP! Shared with Stacey!

Threatening to sing works, too. ;)

I told Jordan of my plans to fancy up my walker and she told me if I did, she wouldn't take me out in public. I see that as a challenge.......

Well, the doctor DID say that when he got through with me, I'd be able to do anything I wanted to do! I shut my mouth before I asked him if I'd be able to play the piano.:rotfl:

Oh, you should have!!! :thumbsup2 I would have.......:rolleyes1

You might want to go around the store aisles going: "Wheeeeeeee!!!" smiling wildly while throwing your head back!!

That ought to do it!!:scared1:

I knew I could count on my bestest friends to make me laugh about all this.

Did I tell you I bought a wireless router yesterday? Going to spend my morning tomorrow installing it.
I think I can do it, the guy at the store said "Just plug it in". Works for me.

I don't need no other stinkin' instructions! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Friday he called home. He didn't like it. He wanted to transfer to a closer college (state school), live at home, and commute to school.

So she picked him and all of his stuff up.

Does anyone else think this is odd? Maybe I'm mean mom, but I'd be saying "suck it up, you don't quit after 24 hours."

My niece started college on Labor Day weekend 2001 in Rochester NY, about 8 hours from home... Sept 11 'happened', and on Sept 12, she decided she wanted to go home... 8 hours later, by BIL picked her and all her stuff up, losing the entire tuition for the semester (that they couldn't afford in the first place.) So, she ended up at a local university, living home... now works full time, and STILL lives home at 25.

Fast forward a few years to her brother being in school... decides he's going to art school in Philly... about 4 hours away... suffers through one semester off campus (they have no campus housing), with horrible roommates, misses his girlfriend. Goes back after Christmas break, spends 4 days in school, and quits, coming home, and losing all of THAT semester's tuition (which they STILL can't afford.). Breaks up with girlfriend, goes to a local school... girlfriend gets pregnant by some low-life while they are apart... they get back together... now he's '100% Daddy', going to school, living at home (she's living there, too...), working part time, and trying to finish school as fast as he can... talk about a soap opera! (But baby Paige Elizabeth is ADORABLE!!!)

Talk about history repeating itself... I don't know who I was more mad at, the parents or the kids!!!!!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I knew I could count on my bestest friends to make me laugh about all this.

What's the saying... when life gives you lemons, make lemonade... when life gives you limes, make MARGARITAS!!!!!!!

Well, I am one of those parents that will be losing my child to college at the end of the year. Yes, I want him to go, we had this discussion with him yesterday. He has an opportunity to go to either of two top-notch universities here in Texas. I didn't have parents that really encouraged me to stay in school (dropped out after 2 years). He has parents that push and encourage him to do his best because I want him to have opportunities I did not have. Now, the only problem is both schools are over 600 miles away. That feels so far and I don't know how I will feel when he is gone. I know my heart will ache, but I won't be wanting him to come home. Want him to grow up and see what the real world is like when someone isn't taking care of everything for you.

Oh well, life will go on, probably just with lots of tears.

Aww, Pam. I'm sorry! :grouphug: Well, at least you know you've done a good job with him (and he'll be home again). And how great that he has two wonderful schools to pick from!

Posting from the lap top with the newly installed wireless!! :cool1:

I told you I didn't need no stinkin' instruction book!!
Actually, I did end up calling Megan's friend who is in Tech Support and he walked me through the final set up. :guilty:

gaRy.....we watched the moon and the lightning last night. Tried to get some pics, but I wasn't successful.

Yes, Pam....it IS very hard to see them leave for the first time. Horrible. But what we don't want is them giving up after 24 hours!
And rest assured....a lot of them WILL come back home at least once in their lives.

And I did install the security thing, even though we have no neighbors within range...nor will we ever have.
But I wasn't fast enough to keep Jared from getting the password so that he can get online with his PSP. :sad2:
He stood behind me the whole time. I guess he didn't think his old Mom was smart enough to do it herself. Ha!
