Today is Ashley's 13th Birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHLEY
:cake: party: :bday: :rainbow: :tinker: pixiedust:
She is officially a teenager. SHe had her party last Saturday with her swimming friends and then with family, so she loads of giftcards and cash. We went shopping and she spent a lot of money and then we went to see No Reservations. It had Catherine Zeta Jones. Good movie, but the woman goes off an leaves a child in an apartment in NYC by herself, no way. Now we are getting ready to go take her to Texas Roadhouse for dinner (steak place where she can eat peanuts).

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Oh wait... I just answered my own question...

Hi-Hi-y-ike-us
Nobody like us,
We are the

Always a-winning
Always a-grinning
Always a-feeling fine
You bet, hey

Go, fight, win Apps! ('win Apps!' is usually changed to 'kick a**!')

:bday:HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ASHLEY!:bday:

Even better, at Texas Roadhouse the peanut shells can be dropped on the floor! John calls it the "House of Blondes"

There was one woman who lived out this way that fed the coyotes.
She felt sorry for them because they looked so "scraggly" in the summer.

If she'd bothered to pick up a book or go online, she'd have found out that coyotes shed their fur in the heat and they DO look scraggly. It doesn't mean that they can't find enough to eat.

But the trouble with her feeding them on her patio is that then they'll come on to everyone's patio, expecting food.

Another moron. Thank heavens, she moved. Probably had to move because the coyotes wouldn't leave her alone.....:rotfl:
We've fed them 5 or 6 kittens over the last year or so. The last 2 kittens lasted almost 3 weeks before they disappeared overnight. We hear the coyotes barking every night in the cornfields around our house. I'm just surprised they haven't gotten past the fence to my chickens. Our dalmation refuses to come in the house when she hears them. She stands guard for us most nights. I'll be glad when harvest is here in the next couple of weeks. That way they won't be right at our back door. Other than the kittens disappearing, we don't mind them.

Happy belated birthday, Ashley. We're taking Caleb to Texas Roadhouse next week for his 13th, also. He's been wanting to go there for awhile, so we'll surprise him (plus I won't have to cook!).

DD called me a couple of days ago and informed me that we'll be grandparents next year! This will be our first grandbaby. She's not getting too excited, yet, since she had a miscarriage this time last year, but we're all hopeful. What a bittersweet year with one DD having a hysterectomy and the other getting pregnant. I told her that at least she timed it right so we wouldn't have to cancel our girls' cruise :rotfl: .

Congratulations Sandi - what wonderful news!

BTW - how is Kristen doing?

We've done that, too. :sad1: Out of about 8 cats, we only had one who survived the coyotes and died of old age.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHLEY!!

Congratulations and best wishes that all goes well this time!

I imagine that is very hard, though.....I hope the girls are close enough that they can share the joy and sorrow.

Happy Belated Birthday, Ashley!

Sandi, what great news! Grandbabies are fun, we had a visit from Kevin's a couple of weeks ago.

Kevin is grinding the floors, literally. He pulled up tile in kitchen yesterday, and the carpet in the hall. We are getting matching tile from the pantry into the hall bath. It's very noisy, and there's a lot of dust, but that's the breaks with remodeling. Alicia is a little upset that she wasn't warned that she won't be able to wash clothes for about a week.

We've started to hear coyotes in our back field too. So what did we do? We googled "coyote calls" on the laptop and played them out the backdoor! HA!

Wow, that is bittersweet. I hope all goes well with this pregnancy and Kristen can embrace the joy even in her pain.

Hmm.....Interesting....and I was wondering. Would you mind cat sitting for us at the end of the month? I can drop both of them off as we fly over. :lmao: :lmao:

:lmao: Welcome to the club!!! :lmao: I finally finished cleaning the kitchen...Took me 4 days!!! John's about 1/3 way finished with tiling. He did the entryway, family room and kitchen Friday and yesterday. Mike's highlight, learning how to mix cement...

Today's job - cutting tile... After John wakes up from his nap. He was up at 4:00 to shoot a triathlon.

It will look so nice when it's done - unfortunately for John, it's started me thinking about other projects...:scared1:

Mary, Kristen is doing well. Her last chemo is Wednesday, then a full body CT scan and a full month of radiation. Her spirit is good; her hair is gone; she's looking forward to the cruise in November. She has an 8 week old Yorkie puppy that is keeping her busy right now, too. She'll be able to return to work the first of October if all goes well.
