Well it looks like at least part of the news is out. Magic is doing 15 day repo cruises followed by 7 day Mexico cruises. No word on the Wonder which makes me think they won't be offering anything special.
Looks like we won't be cruising DCL in 2008unless we do another Member Cruise.
Any ideas???? Anyone up for a cruise before May or after September???? I know those are hard with the kids in school. Or RCCL????

I'm disappointed.I was really hoping for something special on the Wonder.
We'll probably still do a 4-night on the Wonder since we've never done one before. On one hand I'm concerned that we're in for a let-down after doing a 7-night. But, on the other, I may try to convince my sister in to doing one. My BIL swears that he'll never cruise but maybe we could convince him in to doing a short one ... or better yet, leave him home & just have my sister & kids go!
We can't go before May or after September.

Sorry Maria - that one would be out for me. I love the idea of Freedom of the Seas, but those dates are a Western and we want to do an Eastern.
Here's another thought. Anyone for an Alaskan cruise?
Mary, there's an Eastern on the new ship to be launched very soon on RCCL - The Liberty and that does the Eastern at the same time. THAT'S the one we're probably doing. Sorry about the mix-up.
Anybody, anybody???
February is a really hard time for us to go away. We've done it to ski b/c that's the only time of year you can ski, but not sure we'd do it to cruise when there are other options. Mike's office is SOOOOO busy that time of year it puts a real strain on the other docs. Plus, that whole time he'd be losing $$$. He'd rather take time off when the office is slow and he wouldn't be making as much anyway.![]()
Homeschoolin' baby!We LOVE to cruise in May. We could bump that to mid-late April. September works for us too. I know it's not good for those ppl with kids in "school" but as long as our kids take their teachers and principal, we're good to go!
Or we can do the Wonder/Vero idea. That's good.
The WDW idea doesn't excite me b/c I know my kids will want to hang with the other kids.....which would mean touring together as big groups. Adding one family in wouldn't be bad (right, Pam?) but when you get 15 ppl massing around together it gets hairy.
Budget wise, I'm thinking we'd rather pay off debt than drop money for a repo cruise. And we're not that interested in the ports on the Mexico cruises.![]()
Well, I am disappointed. I have two kids graduating from MIddle School and from High School in 2008, so pulling them out of school is not an option for us. I really don't want to do Mexico, I would rather do a 4 day or do something on RCCL. My kids only want to do RCCL is there are other kids they know going (afraid of the unknown)
I agree with OM about a whole bunch of people trying to do the parks together. It works out ok with just a couple of families, but more could be rather cumbersome.
We have never cruised on the wonder and that is semi appealing at this point. I still don't know when school will get out, need to call school district. Decisions, Decisions![]()
I just sent DCL an email voicing my disappointment over no 7-night cruises out of Port Canaveral. I know that it does no good but needed to get it off my chest. I politely said that I knew that they can't please everyone but that I was disappointed. I'm sure I'll get some "canned" email back.
