I know most of you will laugh, but I went to see Barry Manilow last night at Madison Square Garden. My friend's company has a skybox there and all I could say is that it was the best concert of his I have seen in a loooonnnng time. I've been a fan of his for more than 1/2 my life. Scarey, huh? And nothing, except front row seats, beats the skybox - drinks, food and your very own bathroom. Ahhhh!! Nothing beats a clean bathroom after a few brewskees(?).

Hey, John Denver was cool, too. But I love my Barry. He was great last night. Not enough encores though. He must've been tired, he just had both hips replaced in late summer, I think.

I'm still waiting for John Denver to do some more concerts. I remember we used to go see him every year when he came to Blossom Music Center near Cleveland.

As for announcements, I think it's safe to say "watch the DIS." Lots of ppl calling (and all getting the "not yet" message)

Someone posted that the announcement is delayed until everything is a done deal with permits. They also said that inventory control would start calling people next week. I wonder if I do get a call, if they would let me book a 4-night on the Wonder rather than the 7-night on the Magic. My fax wasn't specific on dates or location. It just said that I wanted any 7-night in June. I was still hoping that there would be 7-night Carribean sailings but it's looking more & more like that dream is going to be squashed!

No laughing here!!! I'm jealous!!! I do so want to see him!!! He's the last on my "must see" list...

I'm trying to convince John to take me if he comes on tour - for no other reason than I didn't drag him to see Captain and Tennille...I flew back home and went with childhood friends (He reluctantly admits he enjoyed Neil Diamond - watching the middle aged ladies rush the stage screaming....)

Our side of Houston escaped the ice - it's still hovering just above freezing with rain - my parents are quite amused by all the hype and hysteria over the last few days..."Storm Watch 2007" - "Arctic Blast...etc etc..." But, they agree - ice is no laughing matter...Don't know who is more disappointed the kids or the teachers that their district didn't cancel.

sad news from north of Houston just on the news - a 25 yr old city worker died as he was struck by a car while directing traffic during street sanding - he had a 1 month old baby.

Lots of Pile ups - biggest is a 20 car pile up...Why can't people slow down and stop tailgating!!! Better late than dead! We've been here 12 years and this is the first ice storm we've had - people don't realize the danger... 4 wheel drive does not help you stop on ice!!!

I'm sure we'll have that on the news tonight. Yesterday the day care teachers were hoping that we'd be closed tomorrow. I'm not! Even if we do get iced in, I'll be expected work. That's the bad thing about being able to work from home ... if you can't get to the office, you're still expected to work.
