Just checking in from Midland. It sure is cold here. The temperature today didn't get above 29 degrees. We just got back to the hotel a little bit ago and the team is going out for dinner, but a few of us decided to stay behind and just eat at the hotel. We left hotel at 7 a.m and just decided to take it easy for awhile

Ashley has done well. Looks like she is sitting about 3rd place right now for the high point. Last night, she placed 2nd in the 50 breast, 3rd in the 50 back, and 1st in50 fly. Today, she got 4th in the 200 IM, 3rd in the 200 breast, 5th in the 100 back and 1st in 200 fly. Tomorrow, she has a 400 IM, 100 IM, 100 Breast and 100 Fly. She has cut small amounts of time, but not enough yet for the State Meet.

Working as usual... also hoping to find the surface of my desk AND the floor in my office... this place looks like a bomb hit... but I've got 3 meetings this morning, so it will all have to wait...

Trying to get caught up so I can take a day off and hang out with my Mom in St. Augustine this week or next... but from the looks of my desk, it might be August before I get there!!!!

Beautiful here today, too... should be 80. Gorgeous rainbow this morning on my way in to work... and it ended right over my office... reminded me of that often e-mailed photo of the beer store with the rainbow over it... but this was real!!!

The announcement is the 17th. I would think rates and dates would be released that day. Booking starts on the 31st. So those with faxes into inventory control should be getting called between the 18th and the 30th.

We watched most of the game yesterday but I wouldn't call us Bears fans. More just supporting a local team. If they win great, if they lose the only downside is listening to everyone I work with complain.

Yep...last two nights, we got down to 20° !! The lowest it's been since 1990.

I didn't realize that y'all were so cold too. I heard on the radio this a.m. about the folks in OK having no electricity & thought that your parents must be happy that they are at your apt.

Put everything in boxes...Office looks neat - take time off with your mom and worry about the boxes in August...

They, and all the other tourists here, have been complaining about how cold it has been this year.....until they saw what they're returning home to tonight. Minimum of 6" of blowing snow, and temps at -10° !!!

No matter what, our weather is still better than that!!

Admittedly, we did have to leave a hose running all night to keep our pipes from freezing. Because we sit on solid rock, the water pipes aren't buried very far underground. In fact, where the pipes exit the well, they are above ground!

They were talking about that on our news the other night and they said that a lot of people were trying to blame "Global Warming" and they went on to explain how that was definitely not the case. If most of the talk hadn't been completely over my head, I'd tell you what they said about it.
