what do you mean not knowing? The Dis'ers have it all figured out!!! I really can't believe someone actually spent time calling the various port authorities. By those standards, I'm nowhere near obsessed - even though my friends think I am...

Morning All - I hope all are warm and safe - wind chills, ice storms, missing windshields, visiting parents - not withstanding.

Back to work today for all....

thought some of you might like to read the article from our local paper. The hospital that Vicki works at is sponsoring a donor registration drive this week. here is a link to the article they wrote http://www.monroenews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070115/NEWS01/101150028

Good Article GaRRy - great job Vickie....

Organ Donars are welcome at any time.....I'm signed up through Fla. driver's license program......but sorry GaRRy, I'm not your type.....

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Tuesday!

No storms, yet - the reporters are desperate for something to cover. It's funny, but we're not out of the woods yet.

Good morning all! Everyone stay safe & warm! We're going to have a drastic drop in temperature today. Yesterday we had a record high of 73.

Good Morning all - Hope everyone is safe and warm. I don't know what's going on with the weather these days. Who's setting record highs, record lows, no snow, too much snow, ice storms. This will be a winter that I won't soon forget. I had a FLY in my house the other day. What the HECK is going on? Flowers are starting to bloom. And NY hasn't seen any snow yet this season. Weathermen say maybe Friday. The ski resorts in the NorthEast are hurtin' bad. I have a bad feeling that we're going to get hit hard and heavy. Of course it's not snowing - ya know why? Augie got a new snow blower and a 4-wheel drive truck this Fall. We'll just blame it on him. :rolleyes1

Maria, that's why the weather is good there! I've heard that if you buy a generator, you won't have any more power outages.

It's just darn cold here. That's not so unusual for January, but that last snowstorm was!

Kevin was asking me if I needed him to take pictures this coming Sunday. He is supposed to go to Blue Hole to work on DIR stuff, and I think maybe he was looking for an excuse not to go. :cold:

Question for Stacey, Virgil, GaRry, and any one else who has been in New Orleans lately...

How is the 'atmosphere' in terms of crime and nightlife? I know it was never good before... but supposedly its worse now... (our convention was there a few years ago, and there were some problems.) We're going there in March for our annual convention again, and there has been some concern about 'the state' of things... trying to decide whether or not to let the guys bring their wives this year... any thoughts???

Jay, Garry, Vicki and I ...and the kids....walked around the French Quarter and Jackson Square on Saturday night....no problems.
I remember the Quarter being much more "lively" when I was there years ago. I wouldn't walk around alone at night, but I did on Sunday morning.
We didn't see any kind of problems while we were there...no arrests or people being tossed out of bars, etc.

The young adults stayed out a lot later than we did and made it back to the hotels okay, and I think Virgil walked around by himself, too.

Slow Day - I guess everyone is waiting to hear about the ports....

Um, ports of call, not

Hey, a U-TOP with all Dissers and Port...

Life is good.

We just got back from Baltimore/Washington DC. Had a great time. The meet went well. Sharon, as always, will provide the details on that.

Details on everything tomorrow because we have unpack and get ready for school and work tomorrow.

Lisa did great. She ended up 7th in the all-around (not bad for her first Level 9 Meet), considering the caliber of the gyms that were competing. Some of them boasted past Olympians or current contenders (however the big names themselves were not at this meet, they are competing internationally). She ended up doing well enough on the Bars to make the event finals (top 8 in each event). She was the alternate for the Floor, but no one dropped out.

Irene - Lisa's friend Ashley had a great meet. She tied for the highest AA score for the Level 9's, but a girl had an identical AA score and she had a higher individual score (the tie breaker).

Her next meet is in two weeks in Lakeland, FL.

Angie - We told Sue, Liz & Jeanne "Hi from you and the girls". They say "Hi" back. Once we decide what this group is doing, we need to e-mail Sue. She is "swearing off" the boards for a while, since it was starting to take up way too much of her time.:rotfl:

Thanks Sharon.

Congrats to Lisa! Sounds like she did an awesome job. Any meets in the ATL area this year? The girls would get a huge kick out of going to a live meet.

I'm hopefully going next month for Mardi Gras and will be around the convention center/uptown area. But I won't be doing the quarter; but may hit Cafe du Monde to expose the girls to some beignets. I'll let you know how it is then.

We got coffee at Cafe du Monde, but no beignets....too full from dinner. I was going to send Jay out for them in the morning, but I was too excited to eat :upsidedow , so he and Jared had hot breakfast at the hotel.

The boards must have been done last night because Stacey went almost 10 hours without saying anything.
