I haven't called the doctor yet. Stalling, I guess. I'm kind of afraid to. And making excuses...like...I've only had one cup of coffee....need to take a shower first (in case they say come right away).....but truth is, I'm chicken.

Glad to hear you got some sleep at the camp. How the hay did you do that??? You're very lucky. Where was the camp?

The answer to Question 1... SHEER EXHAUSTION. And lets see... this week on my calendar is... pack for CT & NH (which means finding time to buy my kids some winter clothes)... Buffett concert in Tampa overnight on Thursday... Art Festival Sponsor Party Friday night, Art Festival Saturday... leave for CT on Sunday. Oh yeah... and find time to get a haircut and highlights done... yeah... right.

The answer to Question 2 ... middle-of-nowhere-Florida. (Actually, Fruitland Park... which isn't too far from Orlando... it just SEEMS like the middle of nowhere. )

Now, not being from the South, I had two very 'different' experiences taking kids to camp than I ever had up North.

First of all... I will NEVER consider gravy a breakfast food. Biscuits and gravy go with Sunday dinner... not breakfast... (where's that barfing smiley)... and 'gravy' is NOT supposed to look like THAT... ICK.

Second of all... I almost fell over when they said that they had to send the powerboat out to scare away the gators before the kids could go canoeing and kayaking. :scared1: (And they were serious... I counted at least 14 in the area before the boat went out - one only about 3 feet from shore- he had to be at least 12 feet long.)

The gaters must have heard you had biscuits and gravey for breakfast and they wanted some! :lmao:

So, I take it the kids weren't working on their "righting the canoe after swamping" skills... :rotfl:

Since when isn't buscuits and gravy a breakfast food? :confused3 Well, Bless your heart - this Yankee, when back home, always heads out at the crack of dawn to a little hole in the wall greasy spoon diner about an hour and a half west of Chicago to meet my relatives for breakfast- I still haven't found good sausage gravy in Texas - ...you know more sausage than gravy...and lighter than light buscuits..yum!!!

But, yes I'd agree - camp buscuits and Gravy :sad2: - for that matter almost any Camp food would leave much to be desired...(Unless it's Boot Camp for the CIA - Culinary Institute of America :thumbsup2 )

Yep...I guess there comes a time when we all need to be reminded that we aren't kids anymore.....and we aren't bionic, either. We just don't bounce back the way we used to.

BTW...my idiot BIL had a run-in with hedge trimmers and....how to say this delicately?....the front of his pants......:rotfl2: they couldn't SEW that part back together!! Honest..I kid you not. Teach him to trim hedges wearing loose sweatpants!
LOL!!! :lmao: Betcha those trimmers are now knicknamed: "Lorena Bobbitt".......... :rolleyes1 :stir:

Oh yeah...I remember going to Camp Fire Girls camp.....everyone would bring a can of soup and then they'd dump all of them into the pot together. And some smarty-pants ALWAYS had to bring a can of split pea soup! YUCK!

I'm thinkin' he hasn't touched those trimmers since the "incident"........
Jay LOVES telling that story...thinks it's hilarious!

ROFLOL T.O.P. with Kevin and the nasty hedge trimming incident :rotfl2:

Hey....we're getting pretty close to another milestone post count!

The doctor's office just called. They were going to get a referral and appointment for me to go to the same group of docs who did the surgery on Jay's ankle ( best group of ortho's in PHX) but I told my doc that they are no longer taking our insurance...so I'm now waiting for another doc. Looks like it could be another couple of days.:sad2:

Nope... no biscuits and gravy in New England!!! Now... baked beans for breakfast... that's a different story.

Actually, the food at the camp wasn't too bad... they use Aramark, so its no worse than a lot of other 'cafeteria' food. Burgers and fries for lunch, lasagna and fresh (I was surprised) green beans for dinner. They actually had really good peanut butter cream pie. Can't complain. And the cabins are air conditioned and carpeted, so its not roughing it too much...

(though I could have done without the 2 palmetto bugs in the shower and the frog and spider in the bathroom.)

Personally, I'm happy with a bowl of Cheerios.
Ordered Cream of Wheat on the ship a couple of times....had to fight to keep the side bowl of brown sugar!

See, being 40 isn't so bad after all.....I bet you don't feel any different today than you did yesterday...maybe even better!!

:thumbsup2

Happy Birthday, Angie!! party:

And I agree with Stacey.....being 40 is only a number. I'm going to be old some day. I can't stop that, but I'm not going to grow old! :dancer:

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Tuesday!

Thanks for all of the morning birthday wishes! They certainly did make me smile. And, you're all right. I don't feel any different today than I did yesterday.

Emily wanted to make me breakfast this morning but Bruce talked her in to waiting until the weekend. It'll be more special then because I won't be rushed & can really enjoy. Bruce & the girls will bake me a cake tonight. That will be interesting!

We had a nice visit with my aunt & uncle last night. He was in Tucker, GA (Laura, is that in your area?) for work so they drove over for a quick visit. We'll see them again next week when we're in Louisiana for Thanksgiving.

Stacey, sorry to hear that you're not able to get in to the dr. yet.

Ang
