I LOVE that movie, but had pretty much forgotten about it til you mentioned it... I'll have to rent it for the kids!

Sounds like it was a fun party... now get packing!!!

I had forgotten all about it as well, but sat down and watched it with them last night...what a cute story....of course the special effects are dated but the story is really good. I also rented Princess Bride because I hve never seen it and I am tired of folks giving me grief about that! LOL I havent watched it yet though....I am procrastinating on packing....I again walked around in my formal night shoes last night....well it wasnt pretty 1 and half years of wearing nothing but CROCS 95% of the time has made it tough!!

You are on the road to creating a Spa Girl....I would be very careful introducing your daughter to the finer things in life. It will only get more expensive for you. :rotfl:

Good point. But I think it's too late. ALL of our little DIS girls are already indoctrinated.

U-T.O.P. Gotta love it!

pixiedust: :tinker: pdfg and for everyone else, too!!

hmmm 50000 + replies...I wonder if there is a thread in the past or current that has gone on for longer then this?

Not on the cruise meets board, but on other boards there have been. Especially over on the community board. Plus I think there is a huge one on the DIS meets board for the ladies only trip happening this fall.

Amanda, I think CC is the usual last day for us. That would be the 27th. Yes, you'd better go pack! But you need to watch Princess Bride too! "Inconceivable" that you haven't seen it yet.

Alicia got a spa day for her 12th birthday. Haircut, mani, pedi, some make-up. For her 13th, she got highlights. Guess which is the most expensive to keep up? 16th birthday is next. Hmmm, wonder what she's going to want to do to her hair then? She has been talking about multi-colors, and we have been saying noooooo.

No argument from me - that was more of a sarcastic whine on my part - guilt by association - even if it is true that the drugs and the weapon were the driver's - if they had any integrity or thoughts of the team - ( duh - this is probably their biggest game all season - not saying that it's excusable any other time)- they should have run in the opposite direction!!! I think one game isn't enough.

My thoughts are not so much that the "stars" were out of the game so therefore they lost, more that Texas depends on its defense - take it out of the equation and then the offensive weaknesses become very obvious...

Vince Young, Vince Young, Vince Young. I think Colt McCoy did a great job for a Freshman quarterback, however, I don't think he has the respect of his team as a leader yet. Vince was a leader and the team knew it and knew he could always pull them out when things got tough. It will get much easier for Colt, but I don't think anyone really believes that Colt can or will take them to a championship this year. Just my opinion.

Well- we have chore day here today. have been busy getting the house picked up and doing laundry, laundry and more laundry. Just got through balancing the checkbook and still need to go to grocery store (yuck).

Congrats to OSU (OM, that means you). It was a double loss for us last night. Not only did UT lose, but our local UTEP Miners lost to Texas Tech in OT. Sure would have been nice if they had won. They have come a long way since they hired Mike Price. Oh well, still have the rest of the season.

I need advice/help. I'm supposed to wear this stupid boot (walking cast) for 6 weeks. The more I think about how hot it will be on excursions...and then the thought ocurred to me that I have to go down four flights of stairs for the lifeboat drill, which is hard enough for me with that life jacket on.....I'm thinking I'm not going to do it. Obviously, the bone in there has been broken for quite a while. What's another 11 days going to hurt?
And do I really want to thump around in it on FORMAL NIGHT??

So....I'm asking for a vote:

Wear the boot?

Or don't wear the boot?

Sorry - my vote is to wear it. Better to keep it on now and have a healthy foot later. Maybe for formal night you could get some fancy fabric that would match your dress and doll it up a bit. :)

Hmm... 11 days on a cruise ship in the boot sounds a whole lot better than 11 days at work...

But then again, if it didn't hurt, I probably wouldn't wear it either. (But I'm thickheaded anyway.)

It is definitely a rebuilding year. The only way they can gain experience is to get playing time - especially against tough teams... IMO, I expect the top 3 teams to be solid all around with depth - that takes playing time. I like the coach for standing by his lesser experienced players. He might have been able to put off the suspension until this weekend playing an easier team, because the drug charges were dropped and the weapons charge is pending - he didn't (or couldn't) and that is commendable.

11 days on a cruise ship in a boot sounds a lot better than almost anything!!!

I can't think of a better excuse to park myself in a lounge chair for 11 days!

eek! I forgot - I need to wash Mike's gym uniform.

Hey OM -

we heard the announcers mention that a generous OSU alumni donated over $200,000 to fly the band to the game! wow!!!

I know. Both the doctor and the physical therapist thought it would be a pretty great place to take it easy. Unless the ship's rocking...then they told me to find a chair and plant myself.

The barstaff will keep you well supplied - and if they are very attentive, you won't even notice the discomfort ;)

I'd wear it especially for excursions - uneven terrain or walking distances will be a killer in the evening without it - especially if your foot were to swell - and then you probably wouldn't get your formal night shoes on anyway...
