Hey OM,

I've been there and wore the boot. I did take it off when going on the jet ski, but other than that I wore the boot.

Hey, thought of the benefits. Maybe they will put you at the front of the line. :cool1:

Depends on WHAT line. Front for lifeboats...yes......Front for jumping off the ship...no

Ohminnie....good luck to the kids (break a leg!) Oh wait, maybe that's not really appropriate right now...........

I did think about not having Mike with us...and Virgil.....always a little more comforting knowing you have a couple of doctors traveling with you. Right Mary??

Stacey wear the boot. Year has been bad enough don't take any chances. Just paint it lime green and start a new Dis trend. We need you healthy for the Do Over. Relax and take it easy :artist:

I need advice/help. I'm supposed to wear this stupid boot (walking cast) for 6 weeks. The more I think about how hot it will be on excursions...and then the thought ocurred to me that I have to go down four flights of stairs for the lifeboat drill, which is hard enough for me with that life jacket on.....I'm thinking I'm not going to do it. Obviously, the bone in there has been broken for quite a while. What's another 11 days going to hurt?
And do I really want to thump around in it on FORMAL NIGHT??

So....I'm asking for a vote:

Wear the boot?

Or don't wear the boot?

I also vote for wearing the boot! I had to wear one for a few months. I wore it to a wedding right after getting my cast off, and then a month or so later wore it on a 4 day cruise. It was fine. It was a drag to do the stairs for the drill, but that was the only time I "had" to. The cruise was out of L.A. and it wasn't too hard to stay away from the beaches on that itinerary :goodvibes I have two suggestions - first, try to have the shoe that you're wearing be approximately the same height as the boot. Your knees, hips, etc., will appreciate staying aligned so to speak. I needed a pretty thick soled shoe for my boot. It gets old very quickly if you're uneven! Second, the boot I had didn't have any type of removable (washable) inside foot piece (does that make sense?). I cut up some cheap washcloths and I'd put my foot on that so I could take it out and wash it, or I'd wear a cotton sock. The good thing about the boot is people understand if you are dressed a bit more casual!

I was at the Cardinals Stadium today for the game. It's pretty cool I suppose. They say the outside was designed to look like a barrell cactus. The seats are red and grey (?) and it didn't appear to have any pattern to why a seat is a particular color. Someone said they'd heard that the pattern is supposed to look like a sunburst from an ariel view. How many ariel views can there be with noone in the stands?

And I found out today that the Diamondbacks are changing their colors next season. It sounds like it's just a way for them to get people to buy new stuff! They're gonna change to red, sand and black (they've been purple, teal, and black).

I don't think I have anything else to report. Oh yeah - Stacey got her pictures before me!!!! According to UPS ours should arrive tomorrow.

Nite Nite everyone.
Sherry

Ashley decided to participate in her first triatholon this morning. We had to leave early this morning. She came in 3rd in the Girls 11-14 age group. She ran 1 mile, biked 2.3 miles and then swam 150 meters. Realized that she really need a new bike. It is way to small for her.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!

:cheer2:

And cheers to all the football and band players this time of year!!!!

Boy - it was a chatty Saturday - We saw the moon Sunday morning - finally - setting in the western sky. Saturday was a successful day for us. We made it to the rug shop where - finally - it had arived. did not open until 10:00 am - timed right to correspond with the morning thunder storms. Hauled it to Mothers, dragged her furniture out of the room, installed the rug...Sam taped each edge so she coul dnot trip over the binding, re-set the furniture, washed the china and put it back into the cabinet - re-placed all the pictures and Voila - a New room.....

Next projct - new cushions for the loveseat....

Then it was off to the pub for lunch (and a wee reward), before heading to the grocery store to pick up the food for the Sunday BBQ......

We must be closer to a 2008 announcement - 2 threads about 2008 dates have popped up on the boards! It's a sign!!! :sunny:

Glad to have you looking out for us......When, when?????

OK - I will post this CRUISE QUESTION - I made ressies on board - when the 2008 dates arrive - I just request they transfer the reservation? Correct?
Do I still need to pay 90 days before the booked cruise or the 2008 cruise date?

STAVEY - I AM LATE IN GIVING YOU THE 2 CENTS BUT - WEAR THE BOOT - WESAR THE BOOT - WEAR THE BOOT - WEAR THE BOOT - geesh, do you want to limp the rest of your life - It will be a real pain, but think of all the extra attention you will have when all the other cruisers feel sorry for you....Maybe you get extra special treatment.....?????

Sorry - my vote is to wear it. Better to keep it on now and have a healthy foot later. Maybe for formal night you could get some fancy fabric that would match your dress and doll it up a bit. :)

Ooohhh - Mary, I like it - sparkles on the boot??????

Kids auditioned tonight for another play...."Surviving the Applewhites." It's the FIRST time it's been done....ever. The author is going to be at dress rehearsal and opening night! COOL, eh?

btw, they both did REALLY well!!!!

Great - now comes rehearsals - keep us posted....

Finally caught up - Sunday the cousins drove from WDW with the new baby in tow. Mother was in heaven with her grand niece and great grand nephew....

We enjoyed breakfast after chuch on the island before picking her up and heading home to grill....It rained (pooh).

Thanks for the suggestions. I should have stuck to hot dogs, you were right -

They do not like shrimp - they do not like veggie tray - they do not like pickles and olives, they do not like deviled eggs....They do like potato chips....

Chicken - ok...Surprisingly they like sweet potatoes cooked on the grill ala Sam....backed beans - so-so...

And the ice cream maker crashed. I thought it was my lack of following the receipe when it did not work for the Remember to Magic Party - so this time, I used measuring cups (imagine) and still no ice cream. I made slushies....very good....Ice cream maker now in trash.

Time to clean the house...

Boy, 8 month old babies are loud....and require lots of attention.

He took one look at Sam and bawled.....poor thing (Sam that is - he could not walk into the TV room.....)

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Monday!

Karen (OM) - tell the kids we are sending good luck thoughts that they get called back and get the parts. Both of them!

As Irene already stated - don't forget 5 years ago today. Fly the flag and let the world know that we do not back down! Prayers for all who were effected. Special prayers for all who worked on "the pile" and now coming showing serious health problems. :grouphug:

Sounds like it might have been designed by a BUCKEYE alumnus! :)
