Stacey, continued prayers for your dad. And prayers for you too. How long will your recovery be with your heel?

I think it's great that your Dad is going in for the angio. If they do find something, at least it's early. Hopefully they'll find that he's A-Okay!

Not sure until I talk to the surgeon about the recovery...but from what I've found out from the doctor so far, it sounds like two days off the foot completely, and then wearing a walking cast or boot for a "while"...don't know how long a while is.....but they need to keep the foot bent for quite a while, to keep the muscles and ligaments on the bottom of the foot stretched.
The surgery itself is endoscopic, and they go in and cut the fascia...the tissue (ligament, I guess) surrounding the muscle that runs from the heel to the base of your toes, on the bottom of the foot.
Sounds like fun, huh? Not nearly as bad as back surgery, thank heavens!!

Nuggets w/ Polynesian sauce - That's my favorite! I usually get either coleslaw or carrot/raisin salad instead of waffle fries. I'm not crazy about the fries.

Stacey, do you have Chik-fil-a there? We didn't have them in Vegas, at least not when I lived there.

Only a couple....and none that are very convenient. There's one that we used to drive past when I took the cheerleaders to the gym. They used to beg me to take them there. They really had to twist my arm for that. Not!!

Yummmm, we have a sonic less than a mile from our house. They have the best sodas, it must be the ice, because my Dr. Pepper always tastes better from there. Chick Fil-A is at all of our malls around here. The kids were blown away the first time we saw a stand alone Chick-Fil-A in California.

I will have to tell Ashley to check in after school today to see her Birthday messages. Thanks to everyone. I took off and ran over to schoolf or her lunch and took Pizza for her and her friends. They were ecstatic. She had $bills pinned on her down to her knees from her friends. She was having a lot of fun.

Gotta run,

Yup, lots of Coxsackie going around here too. If you're pretty sure that's what it is, you don't need to take him in. It's a virus....there's nothing they can do to make it go away. Look for blisters in his mouth and they may be on his hands and feet too. Ever hear of "hand, foot, mouth disease?" That's Coxsackie.

Mike did a podcast about hand, foot, mouth.....You can find it here (it's episode 5) http://www.pediascribe.com/podcast/ It's in the toddler section, but don't let that fool you. Anyone can get it. Even adults. :earseek:

Hope he feels better soon.

Looks like Ernesto has shifted far enough east to not disrupt the OSU game tomorrow. :) Yippie! At least not with TONS of rain!!!

OM - thanks, but it's not coxsackie. Just a 24-hour bug. He only woke up once last night for some Advil. I on the other hand couldn't sleep at all and today I know why. I've got what he had yesterday. Just a headache, achey and a slight temp, but you know us moms, can't be sick too long. AJ is much better today. No temp but still a little tired.

Thanks for asking.

Thanks for the all of the prayers & pixie dust for my dad. My sister & I called yesterday afternoon but it was too late for him to schedule the angiogram for today. So, he'll have it done on Tues. After talking to him, I feel a little less worried. He said that the tightening in his chest is always around freshly cut grass - either while he cutting the grass or walking along a street that has freshly cut grass. But, the dr. must suspect something to order the angiogram. Hopefully if they find anything it's only minor.

Stacey, continued prayers for your dad. And prayers for you too. How long will your recovery be with your heel?

Maria, how's Augie's dad doing?

Hope everyone in the path of Ernesto is staying somewhat dry.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone. We're staying put here in ATL.

Angie -

Glad to hear that your dad is doing good. Sometimes the Doctors order a test to "eliminate" something. Not necessarily "looking" for something. I hope it all goes well on Tuesday. My prayers are with you and your family.

Augie's dad is still hanging in there. We are actually going to see him this weekend. My SIL is driving him down to his house on Sunday. I guess he was missing his own house. I give her a lot of credit..it's a 5 hour ride for her to take him home for just 2 days. It's so sad though. He said to her the other day, "How long is this going to take"? "How long do I have to lay here"? My heart breaks for him and my Sister and Brother-In-Law. They definetly get their 1-way tickets to heaven for this good deed. My mother used to say it all the time...It stinks getting old.

What do you know - that we do not know????

Tell - tell - tell - tell!!!!!

:p Nah nah, I'll never tell!

Truthfully, nothing more than the rest of you...I just asked her to keep us posted for either the 1st Eastern or a Special for June 2008 - especially if she anticipated any group rates like she offered for the double scoop. She faxed us into Inventory Control...Kinda funny - they probably get daily faxes for Cat 1, 2, 3 for sailings and then here arrives ours with the broom closet category. :lmao:

Since they're getting all these faxes, they're probably wondering if WE know something they don't!:rotfl:

Good morning Cruisers

We sail in 92 weeks*!

*DISclaimer. This is based on a sail date of June 7, 2008. This can of course change once the 2008 dates come out if DCL has anything special planned.

Good morning Mary! Good morning all!

Why can't kids sleep in late? Or better yet, why can't Dad's get up with them when they don't?! Ashley consistently wakes up between 6:00 & 7:00 on weekends and I'm the one that gets up with her. Thank goodness for coffee!!!

I faxed in my request for '08 & got a postcard back from DCL saying that they received my request. That was a few weeks ago. I know some of you are hoping for Alaska in '08 but I'm not. My kids are still too little to do Alaska. Plus there would be a huge added airfare expense. We're spoiled with being able to drive. But that also means that we haven't gotten out to explore the rest of the US either.

Hope everyone has great plans for the weekend. We have a 6 year old birthday party at a horse place (stable, farm, ? - Garry, I need some help here) today. Need to run out & get one more gift. I realized that I haven't gotten enough since both girls were invited. It's for Emily's best freind so I tend to spend more. They've been friends since they were 10 weeks old.
