Ok, all caught up. Not too bad for six days.

The trip was a success. The kids enjoyed the Disney choreographer's workshops. And the team did very well in the parade in spite of the heat. At least they did it at 6:30 at night. Only complaint was they went by soooo fast, didn't get many pictures.

Sunday morning was the onstage performance at California Adventure. We were in the first show, right after park opening, not boiling hot yet. A nice crowd was there, and they did great. Alicia really did bring her best performance, and had the crowd laughing. Most of the kids stuck around and did some touring that afternoon, and we all watched Fantasmic together Friday night.

Crowds were bad, heat was pretty bad mid-day, but it was lovely in the evenings. We spent quite a bit of time at DL on the 17th, realizing later that it was the 51st birthday and that's probably why it was so crowded! We watched the fireworks from the balcony of Innoventions, that was a great spot and a great show.

The last two nights we stayed at Grand Californian, upgraded to a pool view room. Loved it there, great resort. Alicia was in heaven when she spotted the Sephora store. Stacey, why didn't you warn me about that? Had a couple of good meals at Joe's Crab shack, and one at La Brea Cafe.

I liked California Adventure park. It was nice to see something new. The boardwalk area was well done, and it was great to see the Electric Parade. We liked California Screamin'. The shows were really good, Aladdin and the new Snow White show at DL. The latter had some leads with really beautiful voices. Found it very odd that TOT never had more than a 20 minute standby line, but took advantage of it.

We really enjoyed going back to DL after all these years. It will probably be a while before we get there again, though Alicia now wants to move to CA. We spent a few hours the last day at the Santa Monica beach and pier, and got stuck in traffic driving back to the airport. I guess it wouldn't be a visit to LA without that experience.

OK, back to normal chatting!

Cute puppy pictures, OM. Why did Mike pick Albuquerque as the place the family will go back and diet, hmmm?

Glad Matt is found and hasn't lost his appetite!

Stacey, sorry to hear about your dental woes, but at least you aren't roasting at baseball games any more. Alicia needs one of those guards too, seems pretty important! My Dad's SO gets dental work done across the border in Mexico, she says it's 1/3 the price.

Welcome home Diana!! Happy to hear you & Alicia enjoyed the trip! We missed you.

We are not living up to our names if Diana can catch up that quickly.

Sound like a good trip...I have never been to DL....maybe some day...

I'm home...for about a half an hour. The guy called about my car. Said they found some other stuff that needs to be done to it, of course. I told him "Thanks for the advice. When can I come get it?". :teeth:

I've seen stories about people going to Mexico (and other countries) to get things done. I don't think I could do that. Besides, my dentist is cute (and a nice guy!):

Makes it a lot less painful!

Glad everything went well, Diana! Sorry about Sephora! I never have too much trouble when it's just Jordan, but the last time, when I had Megan with me too.....THAT was trouble!

Irene....can't believe you've never been to the ORIGINAL! If you ever decide to go, I want to go and be your tour guide!!

:woohoo: Got my postcard today from DCL that they received my request and I'm wait-listed for when the 2008 dates are released!! Makes it seem more real!!! :woohoo:

On the other hand, I still haven't received my shore survival kit - probably never will. :confused3

Fax a request to:
Disney Cruise Line
Inventory Control
1-407-566-7739

Tell them you'd like to be wait-listed.
Give them the approximate dates, tell them you want an Eastern Caribbean (which is what we all want to do), tell them the room category you'd like, your name, # of people in your family, and your address and phone number. I always give them my Castaway Club number, too.

stacey,

kewl, thank you so much. I will have to do that when we get back and my new windows are in. Do you know what the max occup. is for the Roy/Walt suites? We will be 6 strong and I don't want to have to get two rooms for the price of one.

thanks again.

kewl beans, i think we are going to try to get one of those because with 4 little ones we really need to space. the stroller was such a pain last time.

Chris also wants to invite himself to your all's diving excursions. He loves diving since he got certified in Cuba back in 2002. the kiddies are still a little too young for it.

thanks for the info.

alrighty, gotta hit the sack.

Have a restful night, stacey.

You're always a wealth of knowledge!!! It's great having such experienced dis friends.

It's over. We fly home in the morning and Matt flys to Michigan in the afternoon.

Today we visited a wild life refuge, took a train ride, visited a glacier, rafted, and then had a family meeting. Even Sharon would consider this type of trip over a DCL. More details will be coming.

Now it's time to pack!!

Good Morning All - it is FRIDAY!!!! and I don't have to travel --- yipppeeeee......

It is 5:45 in the morning and the :sunny: is not yet up!
