Today was my big day. I ran my first marathon this morning. It was not pretty, but I finished with my pride intact This was a small marthon so I could get one under my belt before my Dec marathon in West Palm Beach.

I'm going to bed early tonight! :thumbsup2

Hey - you finished........that is more than most can say, myself included......Did you watch the NYC marathon Sunday - WOW - talk about massive participation......

Congratulations!!! (Have I told you lately that you're crazy??)

Just two minutes ago, I read that Lance Armstrong ran his first marathon yesterday... his time was 2:59:36... what was yours??

I repeat my earlier post... I only run when being chased.

Saw the broadcast of the Lance marathon - he was running with a past winner of the NYC, as well as a support group.....And he had a neat commerical about beating cancer - it starts "Cancer, remember me...."

Calling all techies and photo geeks.....(that just about everyone on this thread).

It's time for us to finally get a photo printer. I've been using our multi-printer and it does fine, but not great.

Any recommendation on what photo printer I should be looking at?

Sam purchased a Cannon 6600D - since it prints an 8x10 - it really does a good job....

Morning All - We are still here despite the windy weekend....12 foot seas, luckily diving was not on the list to do....gardening was - and the wind was followed by rain so that did not happen.....It was a good day to catch up on indoor chores, landry, ironing, house cleaning. Putting away the Halloween decorations....And here is something that must occur only in the southern of the USA - like S. Florida - Since we do not have the natural colors of fall, we buy fake leaves to decorate the house and tables, every year.....Why? I grew up in S. Florida, and did not see the leaves change.....When we have vacationed in the fall, the colors are WOW....so glorious. Sunsets on trees... :artist: :artist: Mother Nature is quite the artiste. :artist: :artist:

Sunday morning we had blue skies but still wind...wind...wind...and later rain, which we do need. We took Mother out for a meal at here present favorite resturant of choice, HOPS. We all agreed we could not wait for the mid-term elections to end - and we could return to regular commercials....Oh yes, and we are into hanging up as well. Since we do not have a message recorder, most of the effort is going to waste. Although, thus far, we have not hung up on anyone famous....Hi, this is Dick.....I am (insert - suffering homeowner, suffering single mother, suffering person of need etc etc) and I want to tel you about (insert candidate of choice), who is (insert - either the greatest thing since sliced bread or a scumbag of the highest proportions).

Completed Mother's grocery shopping, always a hoot since she makes a list that is rather cryptic....

Of course we had to stop by the pub to recover.....

During the run about, we were listening to the radio, the Fish, as we afffectionately call our local team, the Dolphins we winning....(gasp), even the announcer had to do a double take....

Only regrets, I did not remember to look at the Hunter's Moon. Could not have seen it through the storm clouds, but I forgot anyway...

Busy, busy day at work...I am off...

Have a Good Monday.

PS - While at the bookstore, they were showing "Hedgie Takes Off"......thanks to the Dis, I already knew.......

LOOKS like avery NICE SUN RISE????????????????

at least here??????

nice MOON around the clouds

Unpacking done but still have to find a place to put things. We came home with a lot more than we left with. Off to an all day seminar for me so no checking in at lunch. Hope everyone has a good day.

Did you just call me a geek???

What size prints do you want to do?

I believe I did. Go ahead and try to explain how it is not true. :rotfl:

Mostly 4x7, but I would like the option to print full pages with text for the kids reports. I'm thinking we will keep the current printer for just text, maps, emails....etc.

I did watch it. I heard over 80,000 entered the lottery for spots. It's pretty big and special.

Now that I have my first down I'm focusing on the one in your neighborhood!

No way!!!

Technically, he isn't involved in the football aspect of his company - he is VP of Motorsports... but ends up doing some college games because they have so many college contracts to fulfill. He just went to the PGA Tourney in Atlanta this week, as he's working on a contract with the PGA (no, not racing EITHER, but its a small company.)

When I said DIS I meant the boards.....not the speedway. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: You did at that!! :rotfl2:

We have a Epson Picture Mate, which has been just terrific. But only prints the standard 4x6 size.

Here is a link to PC Magazine photo printer review that offers some great information;

http://www.pcmag.com/products/0,,qn=All+Photo+Printers,00.asp

As you know, the printers are pretty cheap, it's the replacment ink refills that can add up over a period. Definitely look at the duty cycle and refill costs in the equation. :thumbsup2

OH.... THIS DIS... see, that's always the problem in our house... DIS has a totally different connotation. :rotfl2:

No, we probably won't see him back here... unless we book another cruise and its about 4-weeks to blastoff... he has a lot less 'downtime' now that he's working from home. When he's not doing "work-work", he's cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, or picking up Christopher (which is probably when you saw him the other day)... it's nice having him work from home!!!!!!

So I'd say it's pretty well confirmed that the Magic will not be sailing the Caribbean in Summer '08. So, where are we hoping it will go? Hawaii? Alaska?

NEW YORK TO BERMUDA!!!!

Yes, I have my motives... if it were to sail to Bermuda, I could do the do-over cruise AND take my parents on their 50th anniversary cruise that we're planning at the same time.

As it stands right now, I'm sure we can't do both, but until the family cruise is confirmed, I'm holding out for the do-over.

(I know, I know... it will never happen... but you did ask where we are HOPING it will go... and I can hope wherever I want. (insert foot-stomping spoiled brat smiley here.) )

Hey everybody...just checkin' in to say hi and see what everyone has been up to. I've noticed SOME of 2008 dates are out. Karen - that would be great if it's NY to Bermuda...anywhere out of NY would be great. Not likely though. I could still keep my fingers crossed though. :thumbsup2
