Time for me to vent about customer dis-service. I have been fighting through the mazes of voice mail and lack of call backs since Friday with one national company and now I am on hold with another national company.

I can't believe companies are allowed to run their business with such terrible service.

Please let me get it off my chest.....On Thursday our office placed a supply order with a large national office supply company. We got it the next day, but part of the order was missing so the staff called the 800 number. They said we were not charged for it, but I have three pieces of paper that said we were. They would have someone call back. On Monday I called again and was told that I was not charged for it, but I have three pieces of paper that said I was. They wanted to fax me their proof, but I could not fax to them because their office does not accept faxes or email. I also could not be transfered to their accounting department or supervisors. They would call me.

After 8 phone calls they say their are going to ship the item at no charge. I should get it with the next few days.

Now I am on hold with a cell phone company. Lisa lost her phone and the account has been put on hold. I called this morning and found out what phone we could get as a replacment, but the person could not do it because the sales office was closed. They gave me a special number. I called and that number has to transfere me to another department....I've been on hold for 25 minutes. Every 10 minutes she would come back and check on me. I asked if there was another way to buy a phone....no can't do it on line. On line I found a contact to have them call me. I filled it out and they called my other line right back....but they could not do it, they have to transfere me. That person has to transfere me, but I explain that I've been holding for 25 minutes. She says she can get me right in.....I've been on hold for 17 minutes.

All I want to do is to buy a phone from them. Why do they make it so difficult? :confused3

I just got through to the phone company....the phone is no longer available. I have to go to a retail store to get one and they can't tell me if they are in stock. 47 minutes of being on hold wasted.

I'm gone to get another drink.

I've been paying extra on Mike's student loans. Every couple of weeks I figure out what extra we have and send in a check. Well, the check I sent in posted on 9/18....but so did ANOTHER check for $150, which I did not send in. I noticed it online (around 9/25), so I called CS to try to figure out who sent the money in. They said they'd investigate it and send me a letter within 2 weeks. Fast forward 3 1/2 weeks and in the meantime I've sent in another check and made the two regular payments ($155.30) online.

No letter yet, so I call.....and explain that the payment on 9/18 posted but it was not mine and I expected a letter re: it but have not received it (I have visions of me making the final payment and THEN they figure out the goof up and I'm charged late fees for 30 yrs before they tell me) The lady puts me on hold, comes back ands says "yes, your payment on 10/22 HAS posted.....you made it online. Do you not think you made that payment?" Uh, yes. I did, but that's not the payment in question. I explain again that it's the payment that posted on SEPTEMBER EIGHTEENTH that I'm asking about. On hold again. Same lady comes back. Yes, that payment has posted....in the amount of $155.30 and it posted on 10/22. Uh...NO....NOT THE $155.30 payment on 10/22, I want to know about the $150 payment on 9/18. "oh, ok, I put you on hold".....she comes back and STILL can't get it straight.

So I ask for a supervisor. I'm on hold and the SAME woman comes back on to explain that they received the online payment on 10/22 for $155.30. I say "I WANT TO TALK TO A SUPERVISOR....for some reason we are not communicating well together." "oh, ok, I put you on hold....." Same lady comes back.....seriously this happened FIVE times!!! It got to the point where she'd come back on the line and I'd bust out laughing b/c it was so comical to me. Finally I said "SUPERVISOR. SUPERVISOR.... S-U-P-E-R-V-I-S-O-R. I want to talk to a SUPERVISOR." Spelling it must have helped because I got a supervisor who in 3 minutes time told me "yes, we applied the $150 to your account, but we realized it was wrong on 9/20 and we credited to the right account."

Ok, why didn't anyone tell me this on 9/25 when I called?
And why is it still showing up on my online account that $150 was applied to principle on 9/18? :confused3 (sigh)

2 A- here plus another in Chicago - If you need blood donor credits can they be credited nationally?- sorry, no spare livers - plenty of extra onions ...
 
On an aside note regarding Christmas decorating - ever notice that there is always plenty of willing help to decorate the tree and the house - but, when it comes time to pack everything away - everyone disappears :rotfl: (the fun laughing smilies are not on main main page and too lazy to click to the 2nd page...)
 
I'll keep the custormer service topic away from John - he just recently had a fun experience switching our internet providers. Now that was fun - dealing with two dis-service companies...
 
Maggie went trick-or-treating with a girlfriend last night - the moms had tag-a-long duty - dads supervised the big brothers...by the time we were home, a baby monitor was in the pumpkin and one of the boys was jumping out of the bushes trying to scare the trick-or treaters... :rotfl:

lots of adults in costume - and even a haunted house in a garage...What is it with the pre-teens and the streetwalker costumes??? :confused3

The cutest and most original costumes were a set of twin girls dressed as chickens...

I'll try to get John to post pictures...
 
Good Morning All - a quiet night for us after the Halloween festivities.

Busy day today on the work horizon......And we finally had the promised rain......
 
Customer Service????? I remember that....I think.....

All we want is to purchase what they are selling.....what a concept!
Or make sure that our bills are credited on time!!!!

Sad, that these stories are becoming more common than not...

Dis-service ---- :rotfl2: I like that......

I couldn't agree with this more. The year we did the Christmas cruise was one of our best Christmas' ever. We did very little decorating at home but enjoyed our time on the ship with all our great 10 day friends. The ornament exchange we did was a real highlight for me as was Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. One of the best gifts we've ever given each other and I'm thrilled to have shared it with so many DIS friends!

That's part of what's exciting about this year's Christmas cruise. I get to have my (fruit) cake, and eat it too.

We don't leave until the 23rd, and we're back on the 31st, so I get to put up all of my decorations and actually enjoy them! And I have a couple of things (not as many as on our 10 Night) to take to decorate our room with.

And.....this time, my parents and Megan will be with us too. Still not the same as having 100+ of my closest DIS friends along, but darn nice!!
