Jim, I'm jealous! Alaska is going to be very cool, we expect a full review. I was just reading in our Sunday paper that the different cruise lines are adding ships to their Alaska route. Very popular!

Cute, Stacey! Have you heard about the handsome doctor that donates to a sperm bank in CA? I think there was an article in People. He has a LOT of kids.

Amanda, I was thinking of you last night. I told Madona you said "Hi" - not really, but I would have if I could have :thumbsup2 I only saw a few minutes of the show, but heard it all quite well! She started 45 minutes late - I heard Thursday night too. I'm told Thursday there were some very interesting outfits - quite a few characters (no, not Mickey) at the show. Saturday was kind of mellow. Someone mentioned she'd been starting late all tour. I'm guessing she must get a percentage of the concessions so she holds off starting :teeth: That way everyone is hot from waiting outside to get in, hot from waiting inside where it feels like the air conditioning is turned off, and they are willing to pay big bucks for beverages!

Sherry

Oh you! HOW did you see the first few minutes of the show??? DId you see her entrance? I had decided, b4 my wallet wa stolen, that to heck with it all and I wma going to the Atlantic City show! Show in about 2 weeks I am off to see the QUEEN! Of course the stolen wallet puts damper in that, as I now feel badly about spending money, but I had booked my airfare b4 it was stoel thru Hotwire on a clearance fair and it is nonrefundable/changeable etc etc ....I am trying to figure out where to stay now.
I have been lucky enough to see her previous 2 tours and she always starts late. Never at ticket time! That hag! haha Gotta love her!

Remember the coveted "Travel Packet" or whatever it was...that not all of us got for the May cruise?? I got one the other day for the September cruise. Had to laugh, they skipped me last time!

Got this from a friend and thought it was cute:

Too funny! I got one for my Sept cruise as well and not for the May cuise weird huh??

Hi all. HOpe everyone has had a nice day.

Well, all this talk about trips. I do wish I could go, and I do wish my family could go. Unfortunately for us, we have decided not to do any Orlando trips with the family until the cruise in 2008. My kids have had a disney vacation every year since they were very small. Ashley had her first Disneyland trip at 15 months, Dale at 18 months. Since then we have had a vacation at DL or WDW every year. When we went to WDW for our first trip in 1997, Ashley was still free because she wasn't 3 yet and I thought we wouldn't go again for a long, long time. Well, needless to say that didn't happen. Now, here I am thinking about a 4 day cruise out of Orlando for Charley and I. We can only go if my parents will come and stay with the kids, which I am pretty sure they will.

In our 19 years of marriage, Charley and I have had exactly 3 trips together w/o children. We went to WDW for a business trip for Charley for 4 days, for our 15th anniversary for 4 days and then for a conference that I attended in Orlando and Charley came along for 3 days. I went again to Orlando in the spring of this year on a business trip and Charley stayed with the kids. I love traveling with my husband and kids, but with them in school, I hate to pull them out for very long. When Charley and I went for the conference a couple of years ago, we both felt so guilty, that we very quickly planned at 10 day trip to WDW for that summer so we could all go. The kids love it when we surprise them. Last summer, we told them we were spending the week in Albuquerque (Kevin/Diana -- you can imagine their excitement:lmao:) Well, they were blown away when we parked in front of the airport and told them to unpack because we were getting on an airplane.

So, I will try not to feel too guilty about leaving them for a few days so he and I can have a little alone time. We never go out without them at home. I think the only times we have ever even eaten out by ourselves is when both of the kids are doing something with their friends (which doesn't happen very often when they both are doing something on the same night). We are the only couple out of both of our families that are still married to the same person.

Yep...that's what we put on Megan's wedding invitations, because we thought Castaway Cay would sound a little silly. ;) Actually, it was just a way of hiding from the unwanted relatives. Not.

We are doing the Doc Dance!!!

:dancer: :dancer: party: party:

Just got the docs for our Alaska trip.

They were sitting at the front door right next to Molly and delivered by UPS!!

Just another example that Molly is not a killer dog! :rotfl:

Refresh my aging memory....when are you going, and on what ship? My friend Sharon is cruising Alaska soon. Well, my OTHER friend Sharon, the one who lives here.

It was 605 days or 86 weeks between the first post on this thread and the actual cruise.
Ugh, so long!
But for me this wait is actually "technically" less time than we had to wait for our first cruise- considering we originally booked it in 2003 for Feb 2005 then in 2004 had to postpone it to May 2006! So I can handle this, I can handle this. That will be my mantra..... :rotfl:

Amanda, I can understand being upset to see more charges on there! Actually I'm kinda surprised- for stuff to be showing up at this late a date. You'd think if it was charged on the day you lost it- that it would have shown up by now.. and if charged later, the card would have denied the pymt of that charge. But I suppose the card just was delayed on showing the chg even though it went thru sooner. I'm sure they'll take those charges off. I agree with whoever said to be sure to report this not only to the cc's/etc. but the police and file with credit reports. I'm so sorry this happened to you. :(

So does this mean you are, or are NOT??, going to do the do over cruise?

Hey, Irene, you are Hedgie's Mom! And Mary is Pooh's Mom, right? Not too mention the breathing furry creatures you may have. When is your St. Thomas trip, is that in 2007 or this year?

Our St. Thomas trip is 2006 - It is my second week of vacation -- the week of 11-11 -- but please do not plan any WDW trip around this as my work schedule is often hectic before vacation, so I may or may not be able to pop up to WDW....When you all set the date, I will certainly plan on it of course.....but you may wish to use the same dates as it has Veterans'Day - which might be a holidy. I like being at WDW for the American pipes and drums on patriotic holidays to hear the military songs....

We are diving and hiking St. John's.....this St. Thomas trip can be attributed to this group....Kevin suggested a dive boat for our November Eastern last year, and we had such a good dive, we are going back. They offer a dive and hotel package and we snatched an low, low air fare.....and a great rate on a rental car....it just all fell into place. I wanted to hike on St. John's but we did not have time after the dive on the Eastern cruise, so another reason to return.

This time, I will have the underwater camera....and take full advantage of all the hints Mark has suggested so I can share pictures better when I return.....

We have one Food and Wine trip planned to WDW for our Anniversary- This year is our 28th.....but we are looking for some other trips - just the weekend....must eat more food, drink more wine.....Gluttony is a sin, ins't it.....I should be ashamed.....

Well, of course. That's why I said early November. Or October, but then there's still a chance of hurricanes. We want NICE weather.

Oh dear, here is my take on hurricanes in early November or October.....With the present weather patterns, early November "should" be a safe bet.....October may not be. October is the BEST time, in my opinion to go to WDW BUT there is a chance of a storm, as the last 2 years showed....From NOAA for October....
october.gif

Until recently, Orlando did not have to worry much about storms that came from the west, as the dissappaited as the hit the west coast....BUT, I would still plan on a WDW trip in October because statistically it still should be safe. We do not plan trips that we cannot cancel in October...not because of the hurricane hitting where we may go, but because we may need to stay home to put up shutters on our home and Mother's......

Food and Wine IN October and November with DisMom's --- wheeeee.....

The Chris (DH) had to turn down a business trip to Hawaii because we were doing the DD Cruise. IT would have been his first time but Disney with the kids was and is more fun. He was very bummed.

Ohhhh, what a dea to be bummed about Hawaii or DD....now those are the conundrums I wish to be faced with..... :teeth: Seriously, maybe you can plan a trip for 2007?

We leave July 13. No ship. This is a land tour with Tauck tours, Call of the Wild program. It's their family program which includes lots of activities to keep the kids happy.

No travel for me today....maybe I can catch up as I will be in the office all day.....that would be nice.....as Sam is working on July 4th - I will also be working on July 3rd it should be slow that day.

Time out for a personal - political message - please...

Remember the stores are open July 4th because people who are off on July 4th will go there. If people did not go, the stores will be closed. Remember your friends who cannot take the day off, because you did not plan and inisted on stopping in for one more bag of ice, hamburgers, or just because it was convenient to go to the store that day.

OK - political message over....thanks for bearing with me...

wonder if I should put this in white print.....

OK - so as not to offend, white print it is. Thanks for listening.

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Thursday!

Looks to be a beautiful day here in Chicago. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning all!

Got our new DSL modem in yesterday to find out something is wrong with the computers. We still couldn't connect to the internet. I hooked my work laptop up & connected just fine. Cable is still out ... put in another call to the cable company. Alarm system on the house is still out. Alarm company can't come out until Thurs. Still need to take Julia/Aubrey's advice & go around the house to see if any outlets are out.

Hope everyone has a great Thurs.!
Ang

Hi Ang, sorry to hear that. Probably the zap went over the networking cables and fried out the ethernet connection in the pc's too.
