Hi all. HOpe everyone has had a nice day.
Well, all this talk about trips. I do wish I could go, and I do wish my family could go. Unfortunately for us, we have decided not to do any Orlando trips with the family until the cruise in 2008. My kids have had a disney vacation every year since they were very small. Ashley had her first
Disneyland trip at 15 months, Dale at 18 months. Since then we have had a vacation at DL or WDW every year. When we went to WDW for our first trip in 1997, Ashley was still free because she wasn't 3 yet and I thought we wouldn't go again for a long, long time. Well, needless to say that didn't happen. Now, here I am thinking about a 4 day cruise out of Orlando for Charley and I. We can only go if my parents will come and stay with the kids, which I am pretty sure they will.
In our 19 years of marriage, Charley and I have had exactly 3 trips together w/o children. We went to WDW for a business trip for Charley for 4 days, for our 15th anniversary for 4 days and then for a conference that I attended in Orlando and Charley came along for 3 days. I went again to Orlando in the spring of this year on a business trip and Charley stayed with the kids. I love traveling with my husband and kids, but with them in school, I hate to pull them out for very long. When Charley and I went for the conference a couple of years ago, we both felt so guilty, that we very quickly planned at 10 day trip to WDW for that summer so we could all go. The kids love it when we surprise them. Last summer, we told them we were spending the week in Albuquerque (Kevin/Diana -- you can imagine their excitement

) Well, they were blown away when we parked in front of the airport and told them to unpack because we were getting on an airplane.
So, I will try not to feel too guilty about leaving them for a few days so he and I can have a little alone time. We never go out without them at home. I think the only times we have ever even eaten out by ourselves is when both of the kids are doing something with their friends (which doesn't happen very often when they both are doing something on the same night). We are the only couple out of both of our families that are still married to the same person.
