....Shall have to post Sam's - he is proud of his - a short between your #2 and #3.....

That's interesting. Don't know if I want to see that or not. :rotfl2:

Matt actually called from Costa Rica last night. It was really hard to hear because we were eating desert at Stonewoods. Love their new banana fosters.

It was a national holiday in CR yesterday because the soccer time was playing in the World Cup. This is just another reason why Matt loves CR. A country that puts sports before work is okay with him.

His teach took him to the bar to watch the game. Now he just loves his college age teacher. :rotfl:

We saw Cars today too. I told Kevin that I don't think it's as good, that maybe Pixar got "short timers disease" since this was the last movie they were contracted to do for Disney. There were some good bits, and we thought the credits had some of the best jokes! But I would imagine it's quite a different experience for you racing fans.

Now "Ratatoulle" (sp?) about the gourmet rat in Paris looked interesting!

Just stopping by, off to get the kid. She had a show tonight, and was going out for dessert with some of her dance team.
I would have to say the real story of the movie wasn't racing. Racing was(pardon the pun) the vehicle to carry the story along.

And I also don't agree with the reviewers. I usually don't anyhow, they fall all over themselves for some 'art' film, however my opinion is all you have to do is add an f in front to make art something else entirely. ;)

Most of them are saying the emotion doesn't carry with cars. I certainly didn't have any problem with that. For any animated feature, there are two components. First the voice actors have to do more than just read the words off the script. And in a way is even harder than traditional as all they have to covey the emotion is the voice, you're not going to see the actor. Instead you're going to see the effort of a large number of people who have to design the shape, then make it move in a way people can 'read' to get the expressions. That's the other half, the animation team who have to match the movement of the visual actor to the voice actor. It's kind of like puppetry, but with a lot more detail. Cars easily achieved that, after a while it was very easy to forget they were something other than people.

Now if you really want to see something where that completely falls down, it was on our stateroom tv's. Hoodwinked had some great actors, but some of the read was really flat, and the animation came off like mannequins moving around the set. No flexibility in facial expressions, especially in the humans, they might as well have used cardboard cutouts.

I have already sent off a message to the webmasters too, hopefully it'll get cleared up soon.

How is Alicia's toe? Is she able to do all her dances? (she told Tori it might be awhile until she was able to do pointe again.)

Diana's off to some estate sales this morning. The three dances Alicia did last night were all modern or jazz style numbers, no pointe! The toe is healing nicely, but still gives her pain. Maybe next week for the pointe classes.......

Thanks for asking!

I could use any ones help please. When my kids spent the summer with my parents 2 yrs ago, someone gave me a link to a website the formatted a POA for us that gave my parents authorization to make medical decisions for my kids while in their care. It was free. I have been googling and I cant find anything. Anyone have a link? My DD is going to CO 2mrrw and I would like to send one with her again, just in case.

I usually just write out a letter stating that we authorize the grandparents to make any medical decisions necessary in our absence, then John and I both sign it. No special wording.

I'll look to see if I have a copy when I log into my computer.

Dallas, hurricanes???? :rotfl2:

Our District only has 2 days built into the calendar - one in Oct and One in Feb...Out of the 5 hurricane days off last year - the state forgave 4.

Went to the beach in Galveston yesterday afternoon. If we closed our eyes to the brown water and held our noses - we could almost pretend we were back in the caribbean...

The cooler bag is getting a great workout this summer!!!!

Do I hear a hint of discontent????

Here in Albuquerque, it takes even MORE imagination........

I kept looking for the server to place my drink order and the only thing remotely close was the ice cream truck with its incessantly ringing bell.

The room steward has not shown up either...

The kids are having a rough adjustment - I made tequilla shrimp on Thursday for supper. Maggie ordered a hot dog... :rotfl:

I was just about ready to change the menu to plain shrimp and reserve the tequilla for the chef... :teeth:

OK, here is a link to our pictures. Let me know if it works all right.

I liked seeing your pictures. Did Caleb tell you that he had DISers on his banana boat. Lisa, Jim & I, along with Lauren (WVMD's DD) were on the same boat with Larry and Caleb. It was a lot fun. I am all for the "Do over" idea. Like a number of people have said, there were a number of people I wanted to meet, that I never did. So, I guess we need to try again.

This is how I have to post from my Treo a lot of the time. I was sooooo irritated last night. I wrote a short trip report (finally!) only to have it EATEN. grumble grumble grumble.......

Should I mention that Sharon and I had dinner on the ocean last night and will be doing the same tonight after the movie?

Kids are both gone this weekend.
