5/22/2008 Wonder Cruise!

So we're wanting to do a fish extender! Where did you get the one you posted Pam?

We're probably not going to have time to make our own, can you connect me with someone to help make one?

Cheers,
Josh

Josh...Andrea (Swissgirl66) ordered that from Gradysmommy off Ebay. Since she lives in Europe, she had it sent to me so I can deliver it to her on the ship. I believe Donna (TiggerzFan) is also ordering one from her. Might want to check out ebay.

Any news from Coffeeguy about buttons? I haven't ordered my FE yet, but have been in touch with a DIS/Ebay seller that I've heard about from the FE thread. She doesn't currently have any listed but is working hard to catch up and will have more soon, so by the end of the week I should be able to order.

I don't think he's gotten back with that info yet. I did find a site that does buttons: affordablebuttons.com Didn't seem too expensive and a pretty quick turnaround. We should probably deside soon, so that we can order! Anyone good a designing?

Hey Coffeeguy! What did you find? :)

Ciao und bis bald ( LOVE the german lessons!!)

Coffee girl here....It was actually me that came up with the buttons. I inquired about them and I think I can do them as my gift. We can distribute them at the sail away party. The lanyards are actually quite expensive. I can't remember who wrote it but we too were on the Southern 11 night with the lanyards! Great idea but costly. I can do the buttons.... does that work for everyone?

CGirl here, how many of us are from florida. We are and our friends. We live in Land O lakes, not the butter. Just north of Tampa.... Who else?

Us Flrodians we complain all the time about the weather. It's too hot, it's too cold, it hasn't rained, it's raining too much,, It's too windy, blah blah blah. We are a weak species!

Hi! It was me!! I was on the 11 night Southern and we had lanyards. They are expensive, you have to order a large amount. I think the buttons are a great idea.

I am in south Mississippi but you would not have known that with the weather we have had the last few days. But thank goodness we are slowly warming up again!! Should be in the 80s by the weekend!!!

Wow, really nice of you to offer to do the buttons. That would be super!

We're in Oviedo, Florida (just northwest of Orlando) - though fairly new. We're from the Northeast - Boston and Philly. My husband transferred down here last April and the rest of us joined him August 1. Definitely not the best time to arrive in Florida but, all in all, we're loving it. It's the darn lovebugs I could do without - and I see a few of them arriving already for their May appearance.

I have to ask, what are love bugs? The only love bug I know is Herbie.

Nevermind, I looked them up. Gross!

Wow, I worked for 2 days solid and missed 3 page of chatter. Remember when this thread was dying?
I AM SO HAPPY TO SHARE THE COLD WEATHER! You southerners are FUNNY whining about 60 degree weather. Donna, I remember not-so-long ago when you were in shorts in the 60's, and laughing at your Floridian mother wearing a jacket when it dipped down to 70 at the Magic Kingdom.

Pam - 35 degrees in Mississippi? WOW, that's cold even for Philadelphia! How did that happen? I hope it's short lived.
I have a serious case of spring fever. I've been working at the baseball stadium and the weather has been amazing. It'll hit 80 tomorrow and my cherry blossoms are in full bloom. I love it when it's in the 70's, sunny and not humid yet. I'm enjoying while it lasts. In no time it'll be muggy hot and sticky.

Eww, it's love bug season again? I forgot about that!
Last year I was in Florida over Memorial Day weekend and took a Carnival cruise. We drove from Orlando to the port and had to stop twice to get the love bug goo off of the windshield. OH man, you guys are in for a treat !!!

They are tiny flies and the they are in pairs. The big one is the female and the little one is the male. All of the cars will be covered in them. I remember one year sitting at Blizzard Beach and we couldn't escape them. They were swarming around us. Luckily it only lasts a few weeks. But we'll all be there to ENJOY.

Pam, I keep forgetting to answer you. Sorry! That damn working thing always distracts me from obsessing over vacations.
My brother Dan is traveling with his 5 year old daughter, Katelyn.
And Colby will be 7 on May 5th, and Pop will be 74 on May 16, so there seem to be a lot of May birthdays. And DCL makes yummy birthday cakes.

Andrea, I'm sending some sunshine your way. I stole it from Florida.

It is nice a cool here in KY, but finally warming up some.

Student teaching is finally slowing down....ready to focus on the wedding and the honeymoon! :)

Melissa and I have decided to try our hands and making a Fish Extender for the room. If it fails, we'll buy one on EBay, but we're hoping we've got this thing figured out.

Who else is getting excited? I'm sooooo ready.

Cheers,
Josh

Oooo, blonde moment. We're northeast of Orlando, and close to the port.

Good Luck, Josh and Melissa, with that FE. Let us know how it goes. That's just something I don't dare attempt.

Oh please dont tell me the love bugs have arrived. That means they will be here soon! I hate those little things. There are times when you cant even walk outside without them swarming all over you. They may only last a few weeks but it seems like forever.

Pam

Tom....the quickest way to get a fish extender is going to be on ebay. What you do onboard is bring a small gift to put into everyones fish extender. Some things I have received in the past are magnets(store bought and home-made), postcards from "your" area, small toys for kids, goodie bag full of candy, pirate items, key chains, etc. Just anything you can think of that will be small enough to put in the fish extender and will not take up alot of room in your luggage. It does not have to be expensive, Dollar Tree items are great. It is just fun to go back to your room and see what kind of goodies you might have waiting for you!! This is all for fun, so be creative. You do not have to "give" in order to "receive".

Hope that helps!
