We'll be there in July and have rooms on the 4th Floor at the Dolphin Far East Wing.......Can anyone tell me if all the rooms have balconies or is it every other room...I know that from the 5th floor up the are every other one...:smooth: :smooth: :smooth:

I can't answer your question but was wondering how you know what floor you'll be on already.
We'll be there in July too!!! :sunny:

Well, they dont / cant tell you where your room is but they can tell you what floor it's on. Just ask. Of course they may not know until the next day or so, so call back. There are no guarantees until you actually book. But they have to reserve a certain amount of rooms at certain areas so they know where you most likely will be.:earseek:

Cool!!!
Where do I call??? Can I call SPG since I'm a member or the hotel directly or somewhere else?

Well see you learn something new everyday! I had no idea I could find out what floor my reservation is on:teeth: !
But to the question...I looked around and can't seem to tell if the fourth floor has balconies. There are definitely people here who know, but they may not be awake yet! (Different time zones you know)
Are you confirmed for a balcony?
I would also be concerned that the fourth floor isn't high enough to get an unobstructed view...

Hope you have a magical trip!

So I just called and was told that "resort balcony rooms" are on floors #1-9 and that I could request a higher floor (I wanted 8th) but nothing was assigned yet. Hmmmmmmmmmmm...

Yes, all the 4th floor rooms out on the on the east-facing side of the far east wing have balconies! Have you booked a balcony room? Here's a picture of the furthest east wing, copied from a post by DISer BLONDIE on another thread. Note the darker colored balconies on each room of the "finger" of the wing on the 4th floor .

If you are on the other side of the hall of the wing though, you won't see Epcot from your room, it will look west towards the inner wing, even though you are int eh east wing you'd be ont he west-facing side of the hall. You'd the wing across from you and Swan towards your left , across from the Dolphin and also possibly the Grotto pool and MGM in the distance ~ the further out towards the end of the finger of the wing you are.

The Epcot views from rooms on the east facing side of the hall on the far east wing are pretty much unobstructed. :) Also note though that there are 4th floor rooms without balconies in east end of the hotel on the "main" part of the building...in the picture to the right of the finger/wing with the balcony rooms.

The Dolphin is such a great hotel and a fatastic location, I think you'll enjoy it tremendously no matter what your room/view ends up being!! Have fun!! :)
