OK - so I booked our flight from Birmingham to Orlando on Southwest with the great $49 fare but I only booked one way as the special ends October 1 and we leave October 2. I was starting to worry about our return flight as the lowest I could find was $96.

On a fluke today, I checked Delta for our return flight and it's $49 too!  It was over $100 before. This works out great as the flight is 3 hours later (6 pm) and I can check our luggage at the resort!

I'm not sure about other cities but just thought I would share the good news!

Boy you are so lucky-I'm from B'ham too we leave Monday I booked direct flightsw/Delta back in March I think -one free ticket the others were $215 then the next month they were $400 so I thought I was vey lucky-Oh well that s just part of the flight wasr I guess!!! Have fun!!

If you can find a lower fare through the same carrier (Delta) then call a customer service rep and explain the dilemma. Often, they will allow you to book the new flight and credit/refund the difference. At least it's worth a try. Have fun on your trip. I would love to go in the winter. :)

MScott1851 -

I'm in NE Arkansas (my brother lives in Memphis, he's a rad tech and teaches line dancing in case you know anybody like that ) and we flew out of Nashville in April/May on SW for $49 each way. Little Rock is nearer but they do not have non stops. We also flew out of Jackson, MS last year for $39 each way. We do not mind driving the 4 plus hours for the cheap non stop flights. If we drive then we would have to take two days, plus motel and meals. Getting there in about 1 1/2 hours is much better Can't beat that. I'm hooked on flying to WDW. In fact, when we went in April we did not have a trip planned but when SW put out those low fares, my daughter called and said lets fly to WDW for a few days, no kids, for research! OK - we did. Right now she has a flight booked for Sept 29 out of Nashville for $33. She had booked the $49 fare and then a few days later a Ding came out for her specific flight for $33. Now she has a $48 credit to be used on the return flight in October. Just waiting for fares to go down on those.

I am so glad I was able to help so many! Isn't the DIS great?

For all my fellow Alabamaians, where do you live? I live in Gardendale (about 15 min north of B'ham).

I live in Huntsville, but have been to gardendale many times! Love your quote as well!
