Alright!! I'm going to take a little break for the AllEars menu boards now and spend some time with my family. But...I have my four park days finished for DD7 and my "girls ONLY trip" that we're considering.

And I was quite shocked at how low our totals were actually! DD and I often share food...she eats smaller meals more frequently like I do on vacation and I planned out EXACTLY what and where and how we would like to eat on our trip.

She likes to have cereal at the resort before we head out and I would just bring bagels and cream cheese for myself along with a couple of bottles of water for each park day. Even if we added in the purchases of these items at the parks or resorts, we'd come in under the $60 total that I had budgeted for us.

Okay...here's my answer to the challenge for $117!

I tried to get some things worked in there as snacks that don't actually COUNT as snacks on the DDP but it didn't necessarily work for each of the parks.

DD wanted to know if it was possible to eat at Akershus with the princesses on our Girls Only trip. I told her no. Then I started wondering. I knew I couldn't do the meal on the $60 a day plan that I had drawn up BUT I also knew that it might be possible, with breakfast in our rooms to do that meal with an average of $60 a day for the four park days.

So, I decided to test my theory...TS meals are in bold.

One TS per day, one CS meal and some snacks with minimal sharing for $60 per day. So, I gave it a shot and this is what I came up with:

We are cheap - or budget minded.
We always pay OOP.
We are DH, DW, and 2 teens DD & DS - all adult prices, but DD sometimes get an adult appetizer then the childrens entree, such as mac&cheese, pasta or chicken fingers.

We stay in a resort with a refrigerator and a gift shop which sells milk containers. Our plans - breakfast in the room = products we packed or bought (fruit, donuts, gramola bars, cereal, water bottles) in a food store on our way to WDW (car service).

Lunch/Dinner = TS $24-35/adult or CS @ $8-12/adult = $47 a day per adult or less.

Examples:
MK:
Late breakfast TS (for lunch on an early entry MK morning) = CP $22.99 adults
Dinner CS = Cosmis Rays (around 4:30 PM) = 1/2 Rotisserie Chicken - with Mashed Potatoes and a seasonal vegetable $9.69
Back to resort - use the pool have a snack from our products we have in our room, relax, go to DTD or BW in the evening and walk around.

EPCOT:
Lunch CS = Electric Umbrella, Chicken Nuggets - 8 pieces served with grapes or fries $7.89 or Bacon Double Cheeseburger - served with fries or grapes $8.09
use our own water bottles for drinks
Dinner TS = Garden Grill, $34.99 Adults

By eating breakfast in our room - we can spend more on lunch and dinner.
I do not like paying $10 for pancakes, eggs and bacon, when they only cost $2 - $3 to make yourself and does not take alot of culinary talent.

What a great thread! We are staying offsite for the first time ever, and I calculated that *if* we were staying onsite with the dining plan, our cost would be ~$195/day. So, I am budgeting $200/day, which actually seems very doable after reading this thread. I am excited about the prospect of just eating whatever we want, whenever we want, and not worrying about maximizing credits, but right now I think we have way too many TS scheduled to fit in the $200/day budget. I'll be looking to this thread for inspiration!

What I love about this thread, is it shows me all kinds of things I haven't tried, or even knew about.

I would have to skip the fruit so I could change the fried chicken to pot roast.
I am not a fried chicken fan (apparently one of the few on the planet).
I love chicken dishes, just not a fried chicken fan.
