4 year-olds in Epcot

What rides/attractions in Epcot do you think are suitable for 4 year-olds? Would they enjoy the world showcase with its Christmas decorations?

I think that most of the rides would be ok except for mission space/test track with a four year old. My daughter was six when we went last and she seemed to really like the world showcase. In each country there is a station for kids to work on a mask-you start the mask at the first country you start at and then add on with stamps and charms as you visit each country. It was totally free and my daughter really liked it. The boat ride in the mexico pavilion is really cool, I liked it better than maelstrom in norway myself, it was more visually entertaining. Depending on their interest level they may or may not tolerate the movies that they show in the different countries. There are neat performances in different countries, my daughter especially liked the chinese acrobats because they were kids like her doing these "cool tricks" and she was quite impressed. My first trip to Epcot was when I was 4. I definitely don't remember a whole lot of the trip but I do remember Epcot being the most fascinating place. I believe my parents took me on everything they could. Of course that wasy waaaay back when Epcot didn't have any of the thrill rides that it has now a days.

of course it totally depends upon the child, but my tower of terror loving 3 year old would flip her gourd if we didn't do test track at least 2 times each day we are at Epcot. Her biggest upset is that she isn't tall enough to ride mission space.

Again, depends on the kid.

I definately would check in with the child about test track my dd road it for the first time at 3 yrs old and loved it....

There are all kinds of little stuff that is great for the entire family...

UK...the world showcase players are great fun to watch,
Canada...Off Kilter is a great band
France...The kids have always love the statues
Morocco..has some great musicians and bellie dancers
Germany...???
USA....dd6 fell asleep in the show(she thought it was greatLOL)
Norway...they loved the play ground and the boat ride
China...the acrobats...are amazing to watch...
Japan...???
Mexico...the boat ride is fun and my kids love walking around the shopping area (very colorful)

Future World...Innoventions has some kid interactive games fun to watch and participate in

Journey into your imagination...kids like the ride but love the kodak playground after the ride even more

Energy...has Dinosaurs and stuff very interesting

The Land has kid friendly stuff...Food Rocks was great for young kids but that ended around January.

Make sure you catch the Jamminators...a percussion group on trash cans..

Thanks for the great answers! Sounds like they will have lots of fun! The 4 year-olds are my two nephews, maybe they would go for the test track. Is it scary or just fast?

Test Track is not scary at all, but fast.....it depends on who you ask, my then 5 yr old last year said that it was slow....LOL.
My kids LOVE the WS, but my oldest absolutely hated Tapestry of dreams/nations , she's happy the parade is over , but the rest of the family are not happy. My youngest had the best of times watching it and dancing. My Oldest ( 10 yrs old ) also says that Ilumminations is "boring" but I think it has to do with the so many times we have seen it, but still when we watch it , she still stares.
We all love the WS though, that's the first thing they said we have to do next month.

What my son remembers most about Epcot is probably Ice Station Cool - where you go in the cold snowy Igloo and come out in an area with tons of free soda to try! LOL! Can you tell we were there in August? It was hot so we went through there every time we walked by it! He loved trying all the different drinks from around the world. OK...it isn't as educational as the rest of the suggestions but still fun My 20 mo old loved it too.

Hey Selket - don't sell yourself short. Being exposed to something new IS educational. That's what I love about Disney and Epcot in particular, they wrap new information in an attractive package so you don't feel like you are being "educated".

My DD loves all the street entertainment in Epcot WS, most of it already mentioned. She discovered Italy in Dec. They have a group called Masquarade. Great interaction.

My main suggestion is to "wander" through each country and discover whatever shows up. The attractions at FW are good too. DD especially enjoyed creating a graphic e-mail message to send home (silly faces and sayings). She did Test track but wasn't thrilled. In fact her 5 year old comment was, "I did not like that ride one little bit." I suppose she wanted to make that clear as we were exiting just in case we had ideas of going again.

This site has a list of all the entertainment, character meet&greets and show times in Epcot and the other parks.
It helped me to time my way around WSC and pick what and who my DD5 would want to see.

Don't forget Universe of Energy, or as it is known around our house, "MY dinosaur ride." For kids who are too little for AK's Dinosaur, or who find the violence and darkness of that ride too scary, UOE is a great dinosaur experience. (For those who've never done it, it features a ride-through animatronic tableau of dinosaurs that is right out of the original Fantasia movie.) The ride is a bit long, though (40 minutes, incl. the preshow), but DS never minds that. He enjoys all of it, including the helicopter under the sea scene and the goofy weather broadcast.

Thanks for the great web site link. I just went to take a look and it is very informative. I was worried that both my 5 and 7 yr olds would be bored with Epcot. I love Epcot, from what I have seen on a limited trip with my parents a long time ago. I am really glad to know about the character meet spots! This will make the Epcot experience much more fun for them.
