My son is too small for the Everest ride, does he still need a fast pass for the rider swap? My husband, daughter and myself all have fast pass to go on the ride.

(And, while we're at it, Rider Swap does not necessarily require that anyone has a FP.)

In my experience using swap with fp+ the waiting members do not need fp. I suppose ymmv

IME, you just need FPs for the two initial riders. All four of you go to the ride, two of you tap in and ask for a rider swap (sometimes you will be given a ticket on the spot, other times the riders get a lanyard and turn it in for a ticket at loading), then switch riders when the initial two exit.

You can make a different set of FPs for the other two riders.
