4 TS's on Dining plan, what to do...

We have added 4 nights at WDW on to a 5 night Disney Cruise early June, 2010. We picked the Dining plan, but not sure if it is worth it. We have 4 TS credits, but more than 4 needed to make it through the vacation.

DH's favorite restaurant is Narcoossee's, it counts as 2 TS credits.
And, I can't imagine going and not doing a character breakfast for DS. Either Park Fare (we are staying at GF) or O'hana (he had fun there last visit.)
So there are 3 TS's gone, and we have only ate one night.

Here are some other dining choices I am considering:
Epcot: Teppan Edo
DHS: 50's prime time cafe
MK: Liberty Tree Tavern

Which are most expensive and the best to use the TS's for.
Any other suggestions for eating ?
Do you think I am better off to skip the Dining plan and just pay as we go?
I am looking over menus to see what DS will eat. I hate to feed him chicken nuggets and hamburgers all the time.
Any and all input is greatly appreciated !!

It seems like maybe the Dining Plan isn't for you. If you want to frequent more 2 credit restaurants or if you want to give your son different options other then the kids meals it may be time to consider just paying OOP. We like OOP for us because it gives my kids more options. I pick restaurants where I know there will be something they will enjoy, even if it's something on the "adult" appetizer menu verses the kids menu.

I like the sound of Narcoossee's! Especially as you're staying at GF!
Maybe do that the night you have an early character breakfast, with just a light snack or light CS in between. Then you'll still be able to take advantage of the other TS that you're thinking of...
Epcot: Teppan Edo
DHS: 50's prime time cafe
MK: Liberty Tree Tavern

Which all sound great by the way. We're going to Teppan Edo and 50's Prime-Time this February. I don't have any interest in LTT but I know a lot of people love it!

You could upgrade to the Deluxe Dining Plan and get a lot more TS credits. It sounds like you don't care much for CS meals. You'd get 3 TS credits per person per night of your stay, so 12 for the whole trip.

It also sounds to me like the Deluxe Dining Plan would be the way for you to go. It's nice to have all the credits to use TS/CS however you like.

I don't mind going OOP if it works better. Between Disney dollars and another credit card, we'll probably have over $800 in so called "free money" to spend. That is what we did last time for food.

Does anyone know how much the Deluxe Dining is over the regular Dining plan?

I figure if we keep the dining plan we could use two of out CS's per day for breakfast and one toward lunch. We usually eat a pretty good breakfast, a smaller lunch then use the TS for the big dinner.

TA thought the dining plan was the way to go, especially if we wanted to do a character breakfast. She said kids are only like $10 per day. Since DS will be 7&1/2 she figured he would need his own meals. Last time we were in Disney he was just turning 5 and he shared most dinners with DH and I. I had to give up a nice chunk of lobster meat to him at Narcoossee's, but I was happy he was eating.

Here's the "everything you need to know about Dining Plans" thread:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2054845

The Deluxe Dining Plan is $71.99/adult/day and $20.99/child/day. You get 3 dining credits per day (they can be used TS or CS, but obviously TS is a better value), plus 2 snacks per day plus a refillable resort mug per person. The Deluxe Dining plan is slightly different from the regular DDP in that at the TS restaurants you also get an appetizer per adult (and you do not with the regular DDP credits). Tips are not included with any plan, and you must purchase any plan based on the number of nights of your stay.

Hope this helps!

Claire,
Thanks for the link, I scanned it and it is very informative.
Didn't know you don't get an appetizer with the regular dining plan anymore. That's a bummer. Sometimes I'd rather have the appetizer than dessert.
This gives us some things to consider....glad we don't go till early June !!

You do still have some time to consider, but remember ADR's can be made 180 days in advance now. Just something to keep in mind! Enjoy your trip! It sounds wonderful.
By the way, I love Narcoossee's! Wonderful restaurant.
