We are a family of five considering a land/sea package.
Is there anyway to do this individually (piece by piece) or is the package the only way?
Can you book these through other TA or AAA, or is it best to go through the Disney website?

I can't seem to find much info at other travel sites (expedia, etc) regarding the LAnd/Sea plan.

Any help would be appreciated!
TIA

We booked the land/sea package strictly for convienence our first time cruising, simply because it took care of all the extras for us that we did not want to deal with. For example, luggage pickup and transport, transportation to WDW, then to port then back to airport and cruise check in at your resort are all taken care of with the package. Also, we knew we wanted to stay in a cat 6 stateroom on the cruise, and that automatically put us in a deluxe resort, which was more than fine with us!

You can do it piece by piece, and from what I read, in most cases cheaper than booking the land/sea package. This board, in addition to other resources, can help you in booking all the components seperately with great ease. You will have to figure out all the extras on your own, but you may end up saving some money in the long run. (But also, keep in mind, that I have heard some say that after they totaled everything booking seperatey vs the package, the package was less expensive.) Just do your homework, remember to figure in everything (park passes, transportation, etc) and see what works best!

Oh, and I am pretty sure you can book the land/sea thru www.allseastravel.com, Dreams and AAA, to name a few!

We did ours piece by piece. It is no problem. This way we could go on the cruise first and on disembarkation day, while everyone else was going home, we still had 5 days at WDW. With the land and sea packages the cruise is last.

I would also get a quote from Dreams Unlimited.

I booked a land/sea onboard and the discount price they gave me was the same as DU. PLUS you get rebates and personal attention from DU.

Hi! I just booked my 4 night DCL for Sept. 5-9, 2004 then 3 nights at the All-Star Movies at WDW. I did all the homework myself and was able to "tailor" the trip to the needs and time schedule my family needed. We booked with AAA. So far so good with AAA. We will be taking DCL trans from the airport to DCL then after the cruise DCL can take you to WDW resort area. To get back to the airport we will take Mears. All in all, it was pretty easy to put things together. I paid $1427 for the cruise, transfers and taxes (for three), $61 night at All-Star and about $50 to get back to the airport. Good luck with the planning!

Well I was curios to see which was cheaper. I booked a Land/ Sea package from Disney. We are in Cat 6 verandah room on deck 6. We are staying at the BC. I just went to Disney site and figured it out piece by piece. The only thing I changed to make it cheaper is instead of Ultimate Hopper I downsizes to 4 day hopper. We will spend our time in the 4 parks since we will be there only 4 days. The differance was 1,171. It was cheaper for us to do the package through Disney than doing it ala cart. So If I were you I would definitely figure it out both ways. Good luck Brenda
