Hello all. To all of you reading this waiting to cruise, I envy you. For all of you reading this after their cruise has ended, I sympathize. I MISS MY MAGIC!!!!
I begin our trip report with our cast of characters:
Myself, Melissa- 32, my DH, Shawn- 38, DS, Luc-11(or Turbo Shop, as I call him),DD, Braelynn-9(our Drama Queen), DD, Briesa (the Redhead, as we call her)-4, and DD, Briar (BriarPatch)-11 months, and finally, Grandma, 50 something (think Gracie Allen, that's loveable,ol' gran).
We began our trip on Wed, April 7 at 9pm. After watching the American Idol finals (how is that red head guy still in it???) we pack up the minivan and head off to Florida. Prior to leaving, I ask Grandma to check for her ID, documents, passport, Annual Pass, and her medicines. This is a must as she has forgotten one of these items in all past trips. So now we check.
DH will drive straight through the night. Let me say, we must drive at night or the kids will drive us to drink. So instead of 15 hours of "she's touching me, he hit me, I need to pee, I feel carsick", we only get about 3 hours before they are asleep. Now we are packed in tight. My knees are in my eyes and I have to nurse the baby throughout the night, but my mantra gets me through.
My mantra is "Rainforest room, rainforest room, rainforest room." We arrived at a Cracker Barrel just outside of the Florida line around 9am. We ate breakfast, and drove the final hours of the trip during daylight. I should have spiked all of their orange juices with Benadryl (ok, Bad Mom award, but be its a thought) because the last 3 hours felt like 30! "Rainforest room, rainforest room, rainforest room".
We arrive at the Grand Floridian around 12:30. Give luggage to the bellman and attempt to checkin. Room should be ready in an hour so we go to Gasparilla for some snacks. Well, turns out our room isn't ready until 4pm so we spent a long time in the lobby, and since DH and I had not slept, we were on the verge of getting cranky when our room was finally ready.
And for a little extra magic we had a special surprise waiting on our verandah- A five foot gold colored SNAKE! Yep, looking at us through the glass door. Needless to say, I did not do any relaxing on the verandah. Redhead was excited though. Her first impression of our rooms (connecting Garden/Snake Views)was, "Dis place is Awww-summm!" We had decided to give Narcooses a try and had 6pm ressies, so we quickly changed and said goodbye to Mr. Snake, and headed off.

Thanks for your report, I can't wait to read the rest. I am both of your categories. Just got off "Our" Magic in March and am planning a quickie on the Wonder in October. Every tale helps me remember and fuels my Disney fire. Thanks again.

I'm loving your report already! Your label of "snake view" cracked me up. As for nursing the babe all night long, BTDT (lucky baby :teeth: )

Hi Melissa! I know we met only briefly in LeiLani's suite, but it sounds like you had a great cruise! I miss my Magic, too! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your reports to see what else was going on on our cruise! Hope you enjoyed Hilton Head!
