Did you look on Ebay? She makes the type like the one Steven has posted.

I still need to get a new one myself.

Kristi

I am giving up on making my own and am going to order one from her. It says it takes 20 days to get it so I still have time :) My biggest decision will be on my 4 pockets - do I give each of us our own or make the top one a "family/cabin" one, my hubby and I share one (we share everything else :) ) and then give the two kids there own pocket. She can put 2 mickey heads on one pocket. what to do :confused3:confused3

Just a reminder to everyone that the Secret Mickey deadline is on the 15th (3 more days). If you have not already submitted the questionnaire on post #9, please do so if you would like to participate!
Thanks!

Is the list anywhere of who has signed up. I do not know if I got all my family signed up yet. I know I was working on it but lost track of who I sent in. Me, Hubby (Ashley), Aaron and Ashlyn should all be signed up for me. If you can let me know I would appreciate it :)

When in Hawaii, check out the fabric section of Wal-Mart. All the islands' stores have a great selection of tropical prints.

When I saw the lime green material, I had to have it.

Ok I need someone like you for my secret Mickey! I have been collecting lime green things for my secret Mickey and am scared to death I will get someone who doesn't like the lime green! And the weird thing is I have lots of lime green things myself - and I do not really like green - but I love having my lime green things! What has DIS done to me :)

Just make sure there's a bottle of Rosa Regale in there, sistah! :lmao: .

I am going to order a basket from Shirley with several bottles in it - I can get 3 bottles from her for the price of one on the ship. I am getting the smallest bottles I can of it - and of course bringing my own corkscrew to open in the room!

GOOD MORNING MY FELLOW CRUISERS, WE SAIL IN
9 WEEKS

  :dance3: :dance3:

uh - it is not 8 weeks??? Or am I off again? :confused3

We're looking at the 11AM BA to London and wondering if the 9:20A is doable? How far is that pesky airport from the ship?? Even though the ship has cleared customs on Friday, will they have agent's there for people to get through early? I'm thinking not before the 8AM posted debarkation time.

.

If we can get off early - this is what 1 of the people I contacted said:

should calculate 30 min. ride to the airport plus 2h.before flight is scheduled to depart (in this case pick up 6:50am to do the 920am flight).

I plan on getting on the ship in 8 weeks!

Have decided to stop at the book store and get some travel guides/booklets for Barcelona and Cadiz. I need more information, especially on Cadiz.

So I think today will start with breakfast out, a stop at the bookstore and then into the office to earn some overtime to pay for excursions. Hmmmmm....maybe I'd better do the bookstore after the office or I may have trouble focusing on work! :lmao:

Have you guys seen that the Magic stayed docked at CC last night due to storms? As of a couple of hours ago they hadn't left yet! :scared1:

Ok for those who have not decided about trip insurance - this is the type of thing you want it for! They are saying it will be 8 pm before they get back to PC.

I think there are several on the Aer Lingus flight at 10:45/10:50.

Me and DS are on it ! yay!

Just found an awesome long black skirt for formal night last night for 14 bucks on clearance!!!!! whooo hooooo! :woohoo: The anticipation is killing me!

I think I am doing last name of FE (and individ. names) Thanks for the feedback!

DCL is sending the people at Port Canaveral today to Epcot!

From Disney

"Due to unfavorable weather conditions in the Bahamas, the arrival of the Disney Magic into Port Canaveral has been delayed today. We now anticipate beginning boarding of today's voyage later this evening.
We realize this delay in check-in and boarding is disappointing to you, and hope you understand these current weather conditions could not be helped.
We have arranged complimentary Theme Park admission at Epcot today for our embarking passengers. We invite you to visit the Disney Cruise Line Hospitality Desk at Epcot to receive admission tickets and meal gift card.
We sincerely regret the delay and appreciate your patience. Please call 1-800-939-2784 after 1 p.m. this afternoon for further updates."

Question about the pirate night and kids. Does anyone know if the kids will be able to make any pirate attire (e.g. bandanas, eye patches, makeup, etc.) as part of the Kids Club activities? Trying to figure out what and how much pirate stuff I need to pack and bring with us vs. what they might be creating on board.

Everyone will recieve a half of a bandana at dinner (on the last TA we got a whole one but they said it was bc they ran out of the normal one.)

Just make sure there's a bottle of Rosa Regale in there, sistah! :lmao:

How early are folks risking for flights out of Barcelona Sat morning?

.

Our flight last time left at 9AM. It was booked through DCL. We made it but it was an AWFUL experience.

I thought we were at 8 weeks :confused3:confused3

Me too! :confused3

I am very surprised they are doing ANYTHING! I hope the people on board bought trip insurance for all of those flights they will be missing this AM. I know this is RARE but this is why I won't take the chance to fly out early.

The TA is different though bc the ship will be docked the day before.

We were looking at a 9:20 flight.

How early did you get off the ship? Today were were even wondering how early they would have personnel there to get us through customs on debarkation.

We're trying to get to London in time for a theater matinee, which we could probably still make with the 11AM flight out of Barcelona. Just have to drop our bags at the hotel and fly to the theater, maybe. So we're trying to figure out which end of the trip would have the least hassle...getting to the airport early, or racing to the theater that afternoon.

Would you mind sharing details on your experience? You can PM if you don't want to post.

Thanks.

We never travel without it. Hope the people on the Magic have it. We needed it. Once we were scheduled to do a Princess cruise and I fell and needed knee replacement and had to cancel the last minute. Another time I got sick on an excursion and they had to call a cab to take us back to the ship. It was about $125.00 which we got back from the trip insurance. We were scheduled to do the last eastbound Panama trip and my husband had a slight heart problem and we had to canel- again last minute and we got all our money back-we were able to reschedule and do the westbound Panama.
If you have not taken the insurance think about getting it

Jackie, DCL has me flying out of BCN at 1000. So, your 0920 flight isn't too much earlier than that. I just hope I don't have to run to make the flight. Wonder what time the busses will start running to the airport.

Where to begin?!?!?!?!

Ok we had to be at topsiders around 4:30 AM. The breakfast was not a full breakfast by any means. It was our first cruise so I had no idea what a normal morning was like so that was fine with us.

We get into the terminal and the bags are a MESS. Literraly NO organization to them at all. It was just a SEA of bags.

There were hardly any porters and even when you saw one they were already taken by someone else.

We had to drag all of our bags to the buses ourselves. We paid for DCL transfers so we were hoping that more assistance would have been given for our $130 ride to the airport.

We were a party of 5. There were about 6-8 buses outside that were just a free for all. We would walk up to a bus dragging all of our stuff and they would say...we could fit 2 of you and the next one we could fit 3 of you, etc. We were traveling with a 2yo and a disabled grandma so spliting up was not really an option.

Finally we get on a bus and everyone on the bus is starring at us not wanting to move or even make any room for us to sit down.

We then get dropped off at the Barcelona airport REALLY far from the terminal. FAR is kind of an understatement. There was NO ONE to help with the bags and no carts to use. So DH and I, have to take multiple trips back and forth trying to get all our luggage, our DD's and grandma to the actual terminal. We get to the terminal for a REALLY LONG check in line. All the lines were like that. Securtiy was not much of an issue it was the airlines lines that were so bad.

They were there with there bathroom scale weighing everyone's bags as we stood in the long line.

We then made it to our gate only to find out we had to be bused to the actual plane.

I have tried to block out the bad memories...:rotfl2: but that was the morning in a nut shell. If we were not with my mom and the girls and all of our luggage things would have been better. I still however would have been very disappointed in how DCL treated people who bought air through them.

DH and I booked a Carnival cruise a few days before it was leaving bc the price was GREAT! Well 2 days before the cruise left I was in the ER with Swine Flu. We did not have trip insurance. At first Carnival said they would not do anything but refund our taxes and gratuities paid. We wrote a letter and in the end we got credit to use on a future cruise but it was not without a fight.

It was a lesson learned...atleast the whole cruise only cost $300 so we were not out a huge amount of either if we did not get the credit but it could have been MUCH worse!

Brooklyn - sorry for making you think of that :scared1: experience, but thank you for the input.

We're planning on doing a pre-booked sedan from the port to the airport, so I figure some of that stuff will be eliminated. Figure they should be able to drop us off at the correct terminal. The bus to the airport is pretty standard in alot of international airports so I'm not worried about that one....I figure they won't even let you on THAT bus unless you're making the flight :lmao:

We are mostly wondering when there will be a customs/immigrations agent at the port early enough to look at our passports to let us go.

ok knowing the cruise is just 8 weeks away -means I have 7 weeks left to be ready as I will be picking hubby up at the airport in 7 weeks and want everything ready then. I am now going to work on my FE gifts and pack a little more. Then I will be sending out emails to set up a chat this weekend/first of the week for the lanyard team so we can get the lanyards ordered :)

I also need to read through my Rick Steves Snapshot of Barcelona - if anyone wants me to look anything up and let you know what he says about something let me know!

Your local library may have the travel books you are looking for. In that case, that's money saved for excursions.

Yes, I'm a librarian - and I've seen enough to make you scared of the library - :lmao:

Boy, the stories about getting to the plane in time is making me happy I don't fly out until about 4pm (to London). It was the cheapest flight of the day without making the mad dash.

I plan leaving for the airport when I'm "kicked" off the ship. That should give me PLENTY of time to find British Air, get checked in and find the gate. Then I'll just listen to music, wander the area around the gate adn play the games on my ipod.

Kristi

Do you usually do the DCL one or on your own?

I always use www.insuremytrip.com. There are many companies to choose from to find the policy that is right for you. It is not one size fits all...

This is actually the third thread. If you go to the meets part of the forum, look for 2010 Magic dates and then look for April 10, these are listed:

Then our present one is the third. There is even a kids one listed:

I love my library! I don't go there so much anymore since I got my Sony Reader and Kindle. But I still request all my favorite author's new stuff and I get books on CD to listen to in the car when I'm driving to and from work. I refuse to pay more than about $7.00 for any book. I have about 90 books on my Kindle right now and I'd say at least 80 of them were free. I scour Amazon every week or so looking for all the free stuff I think I might like to read (I'm not too picky).

So, tell me some scary stories...

I have a really good Barcelona guide book put out by Frommer's. It's called Barcelona Day by Day (19 Smart Ways to See the City). It includes a street map for Barcelona and Catalonia. The ISBN is 9780470165409 and costs$12.99.

I have a Globetrotter Travel Guide for Cadiz. It is actually called Andalucia. It includes all the Cadiz info. It also has a great map included. The ISBN is 9781845378660 and costs $10.95.
