I'm a traditional scrapbooker but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind on my albums. I basically work on my trips (I'm working on the WBPC cruise May 2008) but have plans to work on an album of ME at some point.

I love Creative Memories - used to be a consultant too. Been using CM since 1996. I don't think I'll ever do the digital scrapbooking....it's therapy to me to do the cutting & pasting :rotfl:

No way I can bring any of my stuff with me....as someone else posted - my luggage would be WAY over the weight limit :lmao:

I am into scrapbooking and would love to do it on board so I don't have a huge project when come home. The problem is the cost of printing the pictures on board. I wish they had machines like CVS does where you can do your own and even crop them, change things around etc. When I finally finished my Panama one I had two books with at least 50 pages in each book. I would love to learn how to do it on the computer.

I know someone (not sure who tho) on the PC cruise took along a small printer with her....she printed out pics every day in her room and did pages each day. Maybe that would be the more cost effective way of doing things (instead of getting Shutters to print pics)? :confused3

http://www.consumersearch.com/photo-printers - shows different options.

I am the same way, it took me 4 years to get around to doing our honeymoon album. Now all I have to do is get started on my 06, 08, 09 trip then I will start this one! LOL:thumbsup2 But I do plan to buy more material on the ship this time. Maybe that will motivate me to finally get started.

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: <----- that's me laughing at me......I thought the same thing....I bought TONS of stuff on the Sept 09 cruise (DCL now has an embosser, logo punch, more papers...and I bought it ALL)....still in a pile in the other room.

I hope that works for you!

Yep, I never finished our honeymoon album either...and that was almost 5 years ago!!

Cat 12 solo, no transfers, no insurance is $1050 if memory serves (looked it up for my sister last week).

.

Ouch, with transfers and insurance I paid 1400. The discount they did AFTER I changed to the 12s must have been bigger than I thought.

<----------- Scrapbookers....note tag....it STILL applies! :lmao:

(still have my materials from the '08 WBPC scrapbooking class)

Riddle me this......WHY do I have to sit through hours of skiing and curling and god knows what else just to see a few ladies ice skate? :headache:Come on!

I was thinking that too! I know that they do it on purpose. LOL!

About 10 days ago, DCL advised they wouldn't upgrade anyone if they already had a specific room booked.

About 5 days ago, DCL advised they upgraded DVC-points-cruisers just as often as cash cruisers.

Then today ... I was told DCL NEVER upgrades anyone. Soooo many answers to choose from. Geez, I don't know that there are any other options (stories) available! :lmao:

I said a bit ago about how I LOVE calling DCL on their BULL. THey have even come out and straight lied to me before too...of course it could have been that they were just too dumb to know any better. Either way, it makes me mad!

Let's try:

In 5 days they will tell you no one has EVER paid for an upgrade.
In 10 days they will tell you that only people that have never cruise get an upgrade. If you call back 5 minutes later they will say that only people that have cruised before get upgrades. 10 minutes later....only people that haven't even booked the cruise yet are the only eligible people (they just don't know it).
In 15 days they will tell you "It's not these upgrades you are looking for" (in a Jedi voice)
In 20 days they will tell you the upgrade fairy "just wants to be friends"

That is hilarious! I actually laughed out loud on that one (the jedi mind trick one and the upgrade fairy). Too funny! :lmao::rotfl:
I needed that, thanks! :goodvibes

I love to scrapbook. (Don't have much time right now). My husband is worried though because I picked up a part time job at an online scrapbook place and as I fill orders each night I am thinking. Oooohhh this would look great for the cruise. Or I could really use this for the cruise. Just wait until I get back:idea:

I also enjoy cross stitch. In fact you probably almost always see me with my cross stitch in hand on this cruise.

My sister used to cross stitch. At least it doesn't take up the room that scrapbooking does. :rotfl:

I also WAY back - still haven't finished by two trips from 2008. Plus when my parents died, I took all the family photos and slides. The slides alone are close to 800 pictures (I've had them digitized onto cds). One day, an album of me.

Kristi

I found a site where you can order scrapbook paper (like there aren't enough :lmao:). Anyway, one of the cruise photos looked a little too familar. Then I realize it was deck four on one of the Disney ships. Then seeing the Flying Dutchman in the background confirmed it. I've never seen that paper anywhere else. Wonder if Disney knows someone took a photo and then made scrapbook paper from it?

That's something else I do....hmmmmm....maybe I should consider taking one of THOSE unfinished projects with me. :lmao:

Mishoe01, I would if you have one your working on. They have these great little travel bags you can buy at Michaels that keeps everything compact and in order. The stupid pixie (my fond name for the tink cross stitch) is taking forever. I have been working on it since the beginning of November! (It is a birthday gift for a friend of mine whose birthday is in May) They also sell kits that are needle threaders and thread cutters in one. My flight attendant friend said those should get through airport security with no problem and I can work on it on the way home.

I never finished one single regular album - so when I got introduced to digital I was hooked - now my cruise album will be actually a combination of digital and traditional because I will have "stuff" (navigators, etc.) to add into the book so the pictures will scrapped digitally and the momento's will be scrapped traditionally.

The great thing about digital scrapping is ALL my digital stuff is inside my computer so easy to take with me.

I started using CM stuff in 1996 too when I was pregnant with my son, that baby album is still not done either :)

With the digital for me it is cool because I can do cutting and all that too but in a slightly different way and it can get addiciting :)

I am into scrapbooking and would love to do it on board so I don't have a huge project when come home. The problem is the cost of printing the pictures on board. I would love to learn how to do it on the computer.

That is why I love the digital because I can do my pages without printing the pictures till the pages are complete and that makes it great. sometimes I print books, sometimes I print the "pages" only and do additional scrapbooking on other pages with momentos.

Maybe we all need to bring our bags and complete that scrapbook - a SOT reunion to finish our scrapbooks :)

So, you're bringing your computer with all your stuff on it? I would really love to see all your digital stuff. I have no idea what Creative Memories is. I mean, I know it is scrapbooking stuff but not much more than that. I am more of a collector than a scrapbook maker. :rotfl2: I still haven't finished my very first book from my first cruise in 2008! I started helping my DGD with one, too, and now she keeps asking when we are going to work on them again. It's just so much stuff to get out! I would love for you to tell me all about it.

Yes I am bringing my computer with all my stuff on it and would be glad to share. Creative Memories is a Scrapbooking company that does home based classes, like a tupperware show but also have it to where you can purchase online without going to a class or crop.

Good to know :thumbsup2 I'll put looking through my projects on my to-do list for this weekend.....if not, I'll have to head over to Michaels or Joann's :)

If I added in insurance ($198) and transfers (70) it is only $2 less - so not really a big discount - to me the insurance is very high so we will purchase that somewhere else. If she comes.

My mom got a bunch of stuff to scrapbook our 2006 DCL cruise and we've never done anything with any of it. Perhaps one day it will get done. Digital sounds like something I'd do though I'll have to check it out when we're on board and you guys are sharing.
