:surfweb: Well I think it's off to bed for me pretty quick here. I'm excited about doing my Secret Mickey shopping this weekend...or at least getting it started I doubt I'll finish it this weekend. Have a good night :flower3:

Then today ... I was told DCL NEVER upgrades anyone. Soooo many answers to choose from. Geez, I don't know that there are any other options (stories) available! :lmao:

QUOTE]

Let's try:

In 5 days they will tell you no one has EVER paid for an upgrade.
In 10 days they will tell you that only people that have never cruise get an upgrade. If you call back 5 minutes later they will say that only people that have cruised before get upgrades. 10 minutes later....only people that haven't even booked the cruise yet are the only eligible people (they just don't know it).
In 15 days they will tell you "It's not these upgrades you are looking for" (in a Jedi voice)
In 20 days they will tell you the upgrade fairy "just wants to be friends"

I missed the scrapbooking event we had on the WB PC in 2008 because of a conflict but had paid for all our stuff from the person who organized it (it was great) but that stuff is still sitting in the bags she gave it to us in :(

Krisann

I was so impressed with this event. So organized and cute ideas. My mom attended and we sat with her for a bit to see what they were up to.

Oh! and just to add insult to injury? I paid $129 for our Country Inn and Suites Room where most people got the room for $49 bid on priceline and Priceline refuses my bids every single day for $59 and I stubbornly won't give them $69 bid until a bit closer in (yup, kicking myself again I know) and it's end of spring break. . .

When my mom booked this cruise I tried to get her a room at CI&S thru PL and it wouldn't accept my bid. I called the hotel directly to see if they had any more kid suites available and they told me they were sold out. I'm assuming that's why PL wasn't accepting the bid.

****

It's been a busy week and you guys have been chatty.

Our TA just got back from Barcelona and Madeira. She loved Madeira -- said it was one of her favorite stops. :( Really curious about what is going to happen with that port.

Three of us have iPhones, basically the iTouch with phone/camera/mail functionality. You are more than welcome to look at ours as well for comparison or review. We may even bring an iPad if they're out before the cruise. ;)

-Steve

Thanks, I look forward to it. When are the ipads supposed to be out?

Well I am scrapbooker, but a digital one! I actually do the creative memories digital stuff - hey I could teach a class on that too! I will be creating my cruise albums each evening on my computer - they even have disney digital packages to make Disney themed digital books. The thing I like is I can order them, print them on my own printer or just keep them digital and view them ;)

I missed the scrapbooking event we had on the WB PC in 2008 because of a conflict but had paid for all our stuff from the person who organized it (it was great) but that stuff is still sitting in the bags she gave it to us in :( I hope to get to it one day - but till then, I keep doing the digital dance - very compact and great results!

Can you tell I love my digital stuff :)

Krisann

So, you're bringing your computer with all your stuff on it? I would really love to see all your digital stuff. I have no idea what Creative Memories is. I mean, I know it is scrapbooking stuff but not much more than that. I am more of a collector than a scrapbook maker. :rotfl2: I still haven't finished my very first book from my first cruise in 2008! I started helping my DGD with one, too, and now she keeps asking when we are going to work on them again. It's just so much stuff to get out! I would love for you to tell me all about it.

Certainly I will show it too you, but you have to promise to hand it back :goodvibes. I showed a friend of mine the skeeball game and word worm game I have on it and she took it out of my hands and told me I could have it back when my appointment was over. Didn't get it back until after lunch :rotfl2:

It is seriously addicting, in fact as soon as I catch up on the thread, I'm going to sit on the couch listening to music and play skeeball, word worm, LIFE and other games until I want to go to bed.

Kristi

I'm not sure I'll be able to give it back. I get addicted to games too once I start playing. Good thing the disboards keep me busy or I'd be playing Mah Jong or Chuzzle. I got an email from Amazon yesterday for one of these stupid things I've been thinking about getting:
http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-DSi-..._2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1267165370&sr=1-2

GREAT SPREADSHEETS!!!

Lynne...Yes, I just double checked. I got a 9hr5m nonstop to Philly. Question for those who've used Disney air: I didn't see a seat assignment. Do I do that myself or does Disney do it? When I did a TA on Celebrity, they had to do the seat assignment.

I booked Disney air thru DU. They have sent me several emails and at least two have had my seat assignment on them. I think the 2nd one had the seats changed from the first one though. So, I think they probably know already. I'd call. Maybe ask them if they could post it on the website.

Totally changing the subject here - Anybody else notice that they stay signed in to DISboards even if they do nothing on it for a long time? Used to be, I would start a reply (long one, that is - okay, so most of mine) and by the time I clicked "submit post," I would have to sign in again. Or if I went away from the computer and clicked "User CP" - again the sign in. This has been since the last round of updates when search wasn't available for a few hours. :confused3

Then in 42 days we'll all be on a cruise and in they can tell me to kiss......:rolleyes1
and it won't matter ONE bit *sigh* Thank You God :woohoo:

I am always signed in. I told it to "remember me." I leave my laptop on all the time unless it needs to restart for updates or something. Sometimes though, wnenever I open a new window for dis, I have to resign in. Don't know why. When I am at work it does seem that I stay signed in for a longer time. I start replying to people, get up to do some work, make a delivery out on the floors (I work in a hospital pharmacy) and when I come back, I'm still signed in. Weird!

Many people have mentioned enjoying various craft hobbies. How many of you enjoy scrapbooking? Just looking for others that enjoy the same hobby as me.

I'm not bringing scrapbook stuff to work on as there just isn't enough room in an airplane to bring my crap (I'm mean scrap) stuff back. :rotfl2:

Kristi

I love to scrapbook. (Don't have much time right now). My husband is worried though because I picked up a part time job at an online scrapbook place and as I fill orders each night I am thinking. Oooohhh this would look great for the cruise. Or I could really use this for the cruise. Just wait until I get back:idea:

I also enjoy cross stitch. In fact you probably almost always see me with my cross stitch in hand on this cruise.

Alpaca Babies? How cute! I'm sure they're just bundles of fur on wobbly sticks! :rotfl:

And because I have not said it yet. Thank YOU

Interesting! Who will take care of your brood while you're away? I guess it's not like hiring a cat sitter ;)

Riddle me this......WHY do I have to sit through hours of skiing and curling and god knows what else just to see a few ladies ice skate? :headache:Come on!

Alls I have to say is DVR!!!! That has allowed me to enjoy the Olympics at least a bit. I think I am still watching like a week agos stuff but at least I get to see it. I have been working 10-12 hour days to make money to pay for this cruise. Not complaining in the least, but makes it hard to keep up on shows.

Do you want Donald or no Donald on your name tag?

- Lynne

Hmmm...:donald: With a handle with Donald in the name I think it is only appropriate. He is my alter Ego after all. Hubby wants Donald too. Although I think he would prefer Buzz since that is his alter ego. :rotfl:

I thought it was just me. That maybe I had something figured out right for a change.:rotfl:

On my home computer, I can be signed on for hours. It's the one at work that asks me to re-sign in after a certain period of time. :confused3

Well, worked a little late last night getting all the holes filled in the Olympics. Clients who bought $$ packages are getting a few 'freebies', which is nice. We made our budget. :woohoo:And all of us assistants are ordering in food and watching a movie at lunch time today. It's been a fun two weeks!

Oh, and if you are watching, NBC moved up it's scheduled coverage this afternoon by one hour so they can cover the hockey event live, 1PM Phoenix (Mt.) time.

.

Thossink...adorable pic of the mom and baby :thumbsup2

And thanks for saying what I keep thinking...

THANKS!: :worship: to all of the organizers for this cruise. I am sure that this has been a challenge at times, in between your "other" lives and your time and effort is really appreciate by this newbie

Thanks DEE for the last catagory on the excell file :rolleyes1

Still snowing....Phew...I think that's it for now....this thread has been moving really fast lately....hard to keep up :yay:

You're gonna love this!

I just got off the phone with a DVC representative. I politely explained the concerns of several hundred people on DISboards, about the seemingly unusual DCL upgrades. Granted, we never booked a cruise demanding, or insistant upon an upgrade ... BUT ... when someone books a cruise 1 year ago, pays $1600 for a CAT 9 room, and sees a new $600 CAT 12 GTY reservation being automatically upgraded to a CAT 5 - one begins to wonder if, in the future, we should refrain from booking in advance, and/or booking anything but a CAT 12 GTY (T/A).

This is where is gets good ...
DVC rep called DCL ... they talk amongst themselves. DVC comes back to the lline with me. Get ready ... DVC tells me that DCL NEVER automatically upgrades ANYONE - EVER - NADA - ZILCH - ZIPPO. You must request (and pay for) an upgrade.
:rotfl2:

I guess some people think we're morons. I mean, If you book a GTY room, they will often be required to upgrade the CAT. Aside from thet, I was cautioned that DISboards is not an official WDW website, and many people on DISboards have never sailed (ever) before, and are not familiar with an upgrade. In addition, not everyone on DISboards tells the truth.
:hippie:

Here's my question to the board ...

"Which of the following statement best describes you?"

a) You are on DISboards, and have no idea what you are doing
b) You are on DISboards, and don't know what an upgrade is
c) You are on DISboards, and don't tell the truth about being upgraded

NO, I AM NOT KIDDING! Makes me want to rethink the whole idea of a meet-n-greet with DCL onboard. It also makes me want to rethink about booking future cruises?

VENT = OFF. Talk amongst yourselves.

I think you must of talked to the same DCL person as I did. She told me basically the same thing about this site. She was not very "Disney like" . We still did not get an upgrade but I like my big porthole window.

I love this!!! And I will copy it! I too appreciate everything you all have done. (I have done the lanyards (Sept 09 7nt) & bracelets before (15nt May 08 WBPC) so know what you all are going through).

So apparently we survived a crazy storm in New England, unscathed. Didn't seem nearly as bad as some other storms in our area just lots of rain. Drove all the way to work to find out that it is closed because there is no power! Our building has never been closed in the 10 years I've worked there. So I didn't even bother to call (didn't even know the number). So drove all the way back home....now can spend the day goofing off on the internet.
