Cabins
Still GTY for both cabins.

You know, I had a silly notion in my head last week that those NOT in a 11-12 GTY would be bumped up. Then when all that was sorted, DCL was going to call us Cat 11-12 GTY folks and try to upsell us. I'd love to see what they'd offer if they did. It makes a lot of sense - I mean, if they called me and offered a Cat 7 (or higher) for a certain price, I'd jump on it. For a Cat 8-9, eh, I'd take my chances.

With some of the balcony upgrades posted, it makes me wonder if that's what we're going to see next.

Embroidery and whatnot
I was looking at the recent threads about embroidery and whatnot - the only thing I have to say about that is two snaps to Brooklyn for the awesome ideas and outfits that you've posted. I'm not the creative type, and if I had kids of my own, well, needless to say, I'd imitate you the best I could. In between the Valentine's candy and everything else - you know, that's a talent I don't have, and I really appreciate it in others. Don't let anyone hate on you for your choices!

Euros
I have some Euros and British Pounds from last year left over. So I'm bringing around 100 pounds and about 400 Euro?

Sorry to say (not really) that I can no longer be on the cabin tour for a category 10 because we were upgraded to a category 5! I am so excited.

If you need a category 5 on tour I will gladly do that.

Wow, all this talk about upgrades makes me jealous. We booked the cruise back in Feb of last year, and was assigned deck 2, Cat 9, room 2576, and paid it off before the deadline. Just checked online and nothing was changed. So, why are some upgraded, and others not? Anyone have an answer for that? (or at least some soothing words?)

We booked on day 1 at 7 am and am just glad to be on the boat - not sure why we were upgraded - we have been upgraded 2 other times also - and on one cruise went from a 10 to a 9 before we got to the port and by the time we got to the port had been upgraded again to a 6. I was really confused when I checked in. So what I am saying is you never know what will happen - even up to checking in. It does happen.

How very sad. kidding.......so where's my upgrade?
AP may be right that they're going to try to sell upgrades to the cat 12s......

QOTW: Will you participate in Stateroom Tag?

It's a Mickey Head magnet that finds its way to different doors...On it is a list of staterooms and you cross yours off once you've been tagged. There is also a "Return to" stateroom prominently displayed, since people have been known to steal it and stick it on non-participating doors...Teenage pranksters, usually...Anyhow, it's a fun little game.

That's right, Question of the Week. I'm trying to give you time to get over the Pixie Dust Rush you are feeling - and reeling - from those great upgrades.

Newbies: Any and all are invited into activities we post (some things, like Palo Group meals, had a number limit which were already met - that's pretty much the only closed activity). You are going to have to jump into whatever sounds interesting to you.

We will have the following activities for our group of DISers:
book exchange,
knitting group,
game time on Sea Days,
BUNCO party,
PJ breakfast - put some on if you don't wear any,
group lunch near the end of the cruise (where we'll give awards for the best-decorated door, most cruises, longest marriage, longest distance traveled to get to cruise, etc)
and Group Chaos (participation) in DCL activities:

For example, we want to have a large group at the late-night (10:45 pm or so) Match Your Mate shows. The adult-only shows in Rockin' Bar D are entertaining (though not R-rated, this is still Disney) and a fun way to mingle with your fellow cruisers.

What are you planning on buying with all those euros? I'm having a hard time trying to decide how many, too. I'm not a big shopper and I'm only doing 2 tours on my own. That's less than 100 euros. What else do we need money for? I was thinking maybe $300 worth.

I am really surprised with all the 5 cat upgrades! Last summer we went from an 11 to a 7 and lots of people told me that 4 cat upgrades were kind of unusual. Congrats everyone!!! Hope I see my room number tomorrow.
