Want to stay at akv in oct. The only availability is 1 night in 1 room another in the next choice, and the third in another room.

My wife thinks crazy but why not? Disney will move my stuff right? And I will get a fresh clean room each night. Makes sense to me. Am I missing something?

Checkout is 11a.m. And checkin isn't until 4 p.m. So there's the chance that you'll be homeless for the majority of your day each day of your three-day trip.

Yes, you are crazy. You might as well be on a road trip somewhere. Why not book OKW or SSR where you will probably get all three nights together?

I personally would not do it. Changing resort 3 times in one vacation is already a lot, but changing 3 times in 3 days, for me, yes it would be crazy.

It seems to me that my vacation would sound like : unpaking, packing, beeing homeless.. not exactly my cup of tea...

I would book 3 days at wherever is available and waitlist for the entire stay where you really want to stay.

But, you are the only one who can deceide if this is 'crazy' for you :thumbsup2

I actually went through that one time. We had a concierge 1 bedroom from Friday to Monday. We decided to arrive Thursday so I booked a regular studio. So pack up and move Friday morning. Our 1 bedoom was pool view, we asked about savannah view availability. On Saturday morning they called and said one was available, so pack up and move Saturday morning. It wasn't bad, we were 3 adults it would be harder with kids. I wouldn't do it with different hotels but within the same hotel isn't bad. I would book it and then waitlist if you really want AKV.

Will you even be in your room from 11 am to 4 pm? Likely not if your going to the parks. You will not have that messy of a room to pack up for one night. When your ready to leave hotel for the day (assuming before 11am ), call bell or just take your suitcase to bell services. Check in to get keys for next room. They might text you when room is ready to find out room number ( we never got promised text so call them if your headed back before 4). You could call bell services before you get back to AKL to see how long it will take to get bags delivered (they will not put them in your room unless you are there (except for arrival on magical express airport transpotaton).

Someday I want to hop at all the DVC at WDW in one trip, I am crazy like that. DH will not go for it so it will have to be one of my daughters or grandchildren when they are older..

Disney isn't really going to move your stuff. Even if you have bell services do the moving, you'll need to be ther, and they'll drop off, pick up by the door. We usually find it far easier to haul our luggage ourselves then use bell services, who will store it for you until you an get into your new room, and then bring it up, to the door, with you present.

I have just had a to concel my august trip cus of relatioship breakdown:sad2: however without dissapointing my daughter I have provisionally booked accomodatio for 15 nights BUT had to do 3 resorts
I did 3 last time as did the cruise this time will be 4 nights okw(AkL jambo one bed) 19-23 sept;waitlisting WLV ) 23 studio BLT and 4 nights one bedroom standard view(someone must have cancelled as only booked monday) and 6 nights OKW one bedroom again waitlisting WLV.
I dont think I would do 3 sperate rooms in a row you couldnt just pop back to the room if you wanted.
October is tending to be hard to book presume its cus of the F&W festival

I don't think you are crazy, but I think this idea is. When you add up the time spent packing, unpacking, checking in, etc. I don't think it's worth it. But only you can say what you (and your wife) are comfortable with. I personally would not do this, especially because I like to be able to go back to the room for lunch and a nap each day.

You're a DVC owner now, right? AKV will still be there next year. Take this opportunity to try out a different resort where you can get the same room for all three nights. :)

I wouldn't do it since you may not have a home in the afternoon. We almost always take a break and use the pool, but maybe the heat is not so draining in October. We just got back from a trip where we spent two nights on the road, one at hard rock, one at Marriott world center, 5 at kidani, and 1 at bay lake tower. We spent a lot of money on tips to bell services! I agree with the wait list suggestion or changing to a resort with availability.

You can also wait list for the room you really want.

I would book what is available & try for a continuous stay. Best case, you get it, or even 2 nights together, worst case, you see if you ever would do it again!

I've had Disney move my stuff, & thought it was OK.

It depends on how high maintenance you and your wife are. If either are you is daily unpacking multiple hair products, makeup, creams/lotions, hair dryer, three pairs of shoes for the day, then you'll have to repack/unpack/repack multiple times. I'm pretty low maintenance, but my husband looks like a sephora store salesman when he settles in. We could never do that. Clean sheets aren't worth it.

But if you live out of your suitcases anyway, use the disney samples (new ones each room!) and go commando all day at the parks, go for it. The change of view might be interesting even if the tipping is costly.

It depends on your vacation style. DH and I like to unpack completely and settle in. We buy lots of groceries for our stay including refrigerated and frozen foods. For us, a split stay is inconvenient and changes the way we like to vacation at WDW. We did it twice and decided it wasted too much time and made the vacation less relaxing.

If you are OK with living out of a suitcase, don't plan on purchasing a lot of groceries and don't care if you are homeless from 11am to maybe as late as 6pm, then go for it. As crisi said, they won't move your stuff for you. Either you must haul your stuff down to Bell Services each morning yourself or call them to come to the room and wait for them to get there. Pack any groceries needing refrigeration separately so that Bell Services will put them in their refrigerator for you. When you get into your next room (which could be early in the day or as late as early evening) call Bell Services to bring up your luggage, groceries, etc. If you need anything from your bags during the day (say you decide to use the pool and need your swim suits and don't have your next room yet) Bell Services will escort you to the luggage room to retrieve what you need from your bags.

For hubby and I it would be crazy we like to relax at the resort midday....so if another resort was available for all 3 days we would book that then wait list what we really wanted

October is still a bit of time away so I would say that you have a chance of having a wait list come through or keep trying to change it so at least two of the three nights are strung together.

Just last night, I got a 1 bedroom SV at BWV for Friday, October 19th when it was not available just a few nights before that and I had to book AKV. We already had a 2 bedroom booked at the 11 month mark but plans have changed and we are flying in a day earlier than originally planned so while we will be changing rooms, at least we will be at the same resort.

So, availability changes so often it is really possible that things could work out. We do split stays all the time and don't mind them--but I did 3 moves in a 7 day trip and it was a bit much...3 moves in 3 days--not so sure..

Good luck!

My thoughts too! Too much moving and you KNOW you'll be back!

for me I would rather stay home, I would take anything that would be give the 3 days in the same place, no resort at Disney is worth that much moving to me.

Actually room ready is "after" 4 pm. We have had to wait until 7:30, 6:00, 5:00, it all depends.

We find moving to be disruptive to the vacation experience.
