$31 rental for a double stroller.

I'm assuming you buy the length of stay at the same place of teh strollers, right? If I'm there for 7 days can I just buy a 5 day stroller length of stay?

It's not a "length of stay" rental, it's a multi-day rental. The CMs at the stroller places don't know how long your trip is and they don't care. You just tell them how many days you want to rent a stroller for. Period. No further questions.

The first time you rent, you go to the stroller place a the park you're at, you pay in advance for the number of days you want. During the remainder of the trip, you never have to get in that line again. From that point on, you skip the pay line (which can be pretty long at times) and just proceed to the pick-up area.

I just noticed where a few folks said that price isn't going into effect until April 6, so I guess my post about the prices on Disneyworld being different isn't relevant.

I agree, if $31 / day is the price, that is too much, and my son will either walk, or we'll take turns carrying him.

Here is another underhanded idea. Once you rent a stroller, if it should disappear on you, you can go get another one for free. It wouldn't take a lot of work for a group of people who were all going to be in a park on the same day to pool together the money for one rental, have one person pick it up, then hand it off to another person, and return for a replacement for their stroller. Even if you only do this one time, each person is then effectively only paying $15.50. Do it two times, and you cut that cost down to $10.33. I suppose any more than twice might be pushing your luck, then again, with the price of a rental that high, it might not be unusual for people to have their strollers clipped three or four times during the day.

THANKS:thumbsup2

You have to be kidding me?
31 dollars a day!!!
Well that made my decision very easy. I am going for 10 days.. A 310 dollar savings is beyond worth it to put my own stroller on the plane and close it up when I get on buses. I understand I am going to pay inflated prices at Disney.. but that is ridiculous and I will absolutely not pay it.

They are biting the hand that feeds them.

Effectively, guests will be leaving the park earlier because their children will be tired without a stroller.

Maybe Disney is doing this to decrease the amount of people who rent the strollers? Like a traffic control thing?

not that it will make a difference but i just dropped them an email expressing my disgust over the increase. how exactly do they expect families on a budget to continue to be able to visit WDW with increases like this. And I have no plans of having to buy a double stroller b/c i will never use it. I would have understood a small increase but $13 ????

I've been trying to justify buying a double jogging stroller for about $200, because it's something I will use at home. Hubbie REALLY didn't want to lug it on and off the busses, but at that price, it will be lugged!! So I apologize in advance to anyone that gets stuck on the buses with us. We'll get it as "out of the way" as possible, but I'm not throwing that much money on renting and not have anything to show for it!! Sorry to all that will be at POP May 3-10!:confused3

What is the e-mail? I would like to e-mail them too.

Momto2PrncChrmgs: I feel the same way you do. I was thinking about getting a double stroller too. I had decided not to because it is just easier to rent and not have to do any lugging and avoid the whole taking it on the bus. So now I guess buying a stroller is the better option. I apologize ahead too for all staying at ASMusic from Nov. 9-21 that will be on the bus with us.

That price increase is insane!!! My oldest (yes, he is six so don't shoot me because he likes to ride in a stroller at WDW and it keeps his 2 yr. old brother content too so we are all happy) is too tall for a normal umbrella stroller so renting one was our only nice option. I do not want to fork out that much for a hard stroller that will probably get swiped before the end of the day anyway by someone that doesn't want to pay that much.

I didn't fuss too much when they seriously downsized Dad's Super Sundae at 50's PT, I didn't complain too loudly when they started selling soooo many tickets to the hard-ticket events, I didn't cry when they raised resort/ticket prices, didn't cry over spilt ice cream when they downsized the waffle cones (come on, how much can that really save?!?!), but this chaps my tush. I really feel for people that fly into WDW, at least we drive and can pack at least one stroller.

I must be blind. Where does it say the price is $31 per day? The only numbers I'm seeing are $10 for a single and $18 for a double. It looks like if you rent for multiple days you actually get a price break.

Where's that April 6 date coming from? I'm not finding it on the WDWinfo link posted above.

I just can't believe this, I called disney just to ask, and the CM actually sounded embarressed! that is going to be a real problem, we will be in the parks 6 days, with a 7 yo and a 3 year old, wanting a double so that the girls could rest and not get worn out, With this trip I will have made 2 trips in 6mo, and spent almost $7000.00, but I am not paying nearly $170.00 for stroller rentals!! But we are flying and the thought of shipping a stroller, hauling it back and forth on the crowded bus makes me cringe! The little umbrellas are not ok for kids for long periods, can you imagine a bus full of parents with full sized strollers :scared1: perhaps someone will start a stroller exchange like the fridge exchange for resorts! they will sure cost more!

We always rent a double stroller, but won't now. I didn't even think about how many strollers might be on the busses now. My double stroller for my twins is very big. I cringe too at the thought of hauling that thing off and on busses.

This is nuts! I just got rid of my double stroller. I had planned on bringing my single stroller and renting the double for the big kids -- 31.00 x 13 days =$403

Is it just me or is almost every news that comes out of the Disney parks recently a price increase?

Anyway, I don't have kids but I feel sorry for all of you who are affected by this.

If you want real magic, they're still $17 at Universal.

I have never rented strollers but we were considering it for our upcoming trip due to our resort, POR. After this little announcement we will be packing our own, "thanks for saving me a few bucks Disney with another price increase."

Where is the April 6th date noted? Wonder if you can pay now at the current rate?

nuts - I had just persuaded my dh NOT to lug the double stroller with us - said hey we can rent it at the park - be easier & cheaper. well - we are there for 5 days - that is $155 - I bought my double stroller for about that much! That is ridiculous - oh well - I am going to bring my double stroller. Disney should be ashamed of themselves. Parents with small children are the backbone of the parks - they should not be price gouging them like that.

My trip to Disney starts April 6 and I just found out about the price increase. That is alot! We have already left home and are in Florida, and I am so glad that I decided to pack our double stroller. I almost didn't, the only reason I did is because our youngest is too little for the Disney strollers and we decided we didn't want to have to carry her the whole time. I have loved using Disney strollers in the past, but I am not sure that I can justify paying $31 per day instead of bringing ours, especially since we drive so it is not a big deal to pack it. Does anyone have an idea of why the price increased so dramatically?

Wow, I still have 6 left over double stroller tickets from our trip in May.
Will they still honor them or do I have to pay the difference?
