30% off code or $82 a night value resort. Which is better?

My email has a 30% off code for value resorts for certain dates (2/24-3/1, 3/30-4/12, 8/10-9/27, 10/19-11/1, 11/9-11/15, and 12/7-12/13). Then the email has the other option to get a $82 a night rate for a standard room at value resorts for certain dates (8/3-10/1 and 11/30-12/18).

I am trying to figure out if the 30% off is all that much better. Isn't $82 a night a good rate?

I booked my trip for August under the 30% off rate. I am looking into booking a trip for December for a few days. I thought it would be fun to see Disney all decked out for Christmas. The $82 a night rate gives me a couple of weekends I could use, while the 30% off just does a Sunday to Saturday week... so I cannot do a long weekend. With three kids in school, a long weekend would be the best way to go for us.

Anyway, what is better? What would you do?

Without looking up all those dates to see what season they fall under I do see that some of them are value season (August/September). A standard room at a value resort in value season IS $82 per night. So, the 30% would be better.

OK....I just looked at the dates and here it is....


30% off dates:
2/24-3/1...peak season
3/30-4/12....regular season
8/10-9/27.....value
10/19-11/1...regular
11/9-11/15...regular
12/7-12/13...value

$82 rate dates:
8/3-10/1...value
11/30-12/18....value

Rack rate for standard room at a value level resort:
value season...$82
regular season...$99 weekday and $109 weekend
peak season...$119 weekday and $129 weekend

So...the only time that the 30% off is NOT the best deal is during peak season.

You're so lucky to get that offer. I wish I could get 1 for this year. Even though none of those dates match my trip this summer it would give me a reason to do an adult trip in the fall.
