So I did a bit or pregaming if you will checking out what my local Targets had to offer for the toy sale. I must say that all in all I was WAY dissapointed. Usually I spend about $200 and fill my attic. This year I really saw nothing (other than one thing) that I would even consider going back and fighting the crowds for. I ended up buying the iXL in blue for $23, and 3 games ( Cars, Handy Manny, and one other that I cannot remember right now) for $5 each. There were minimal legos, some disney items, and no baby toys. I did see a lot of pet shop items, zoobles, some Cars stuff, and a lot of Thomas the train things. Hope this helps!!!

No offense, but you might want to reread your post and fix any errors. There seems to be letters/punctuation missing. I have no idea what you are even talking about. Maybe it's just me. :rotfl:

Bummer! Is today the ifirst day of markdowns? 30%?

ETA, I totally knew what you were talking about!

I was planning on going tomorrow... usuallly it's the last Thursday of the month in July that they mark down to 75% off.

Well, I did type the post quickly on my phone. Though, no offense, there are SO not enough grammatical and spelling errors to make it unreadable. I was typing from the parking lot so that if anyone else was interested in the iXL they could jump on it as soon as possible. And, really, of all things to do- commenting on how a post is written is on the top of your list? Just saying...:confused3

There was some 30% and a lot of 50%. Though, I have to say, maybe 1/2 the selection of years past.

You are just not very nice!!! Didn't your mother teach you "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"

Goodness!!!

I agree with you! My mom used to tell me "people who pick on/at you, are actually insecure about THEMSELVES!"

I totally could understand what you were saying and thank you for the heads up!

Seriously? :confused3

I was trying to understand the post and couldn't, so I was asking for help. Not sure what is wrong with that. I don't know what an "iXL in blue for $23" is. I also don't think the first sentence of the OP made any sense. I was trying to get help.

Maybe you should take your own advice. ;)

Oh please. All she said was she had no idea what she was talking about and to clarify. I happen to agree as I have no clue what an iXL is :confused3. Internet Extra Large? I dunno!

Well, I guess those people who are looking for an iXL will know what they are??
Could have asked for more understanding in a less offensive way!

Other people responded to your post, so obviously they had no problem understanding what you were saying :thumbsup2

Absolutely!

How could I be less offensive than starting off with "No offense"? :confused3

When I saw the word "iXL", I thought maybe it was a DSiXL of which we have two. I have never seen one for $23, so I thought perhaps the word "case" was left out or something.

Our Toy sale has been slim this year.

Usually, we have a few isles packed with stuff, we even stock up for some X-mas stuff.

This year it's minimal discounts 10-15%, and no major isles stocked with stuff. It's just random items on the reg shelfs :(

I, too, was hoping for more Legos to be on sale. I'll just have to keep checking! I have 3 Targets in my area and they all seem to clearance different things at different times and at different %'s off.

DH works at Target and clearance happens depending on the sales at each individual store. You can find one item at full price at store A and then go to store B and it can be marked down to 50% off. If it's sells at store A, but not at store B, then they are going to mark it down to get it off the shelves.

Also, the prices are determined at each individual store. It can also vary from one state to another. It can also depend on sizes and colors. There is a whole lot of factors that come into play when things go on clearance. It all depends on the sales in your area.

As an example, DH works in the infant department. He had two sweaters. One in blue and one in green. They were both buy one get one free. However, the green one wasn't selling, so in order to get it out of the store and free up the shelves for other merchandise, they marked it half off. Then, because it was still in the computer for buy one, get one free, they basically got the first one for 50% off and the 2nd one was free. Not a bad deal. However, the blue one was still full price.

Usually when people start a post off with "no offense" means they are about to say something offensive! In fact you only slammed her post and never really asked for clarification?

Why not simply refrain from posting, and wait to see if more light is shed on whatever it is that confused you so much? Nothing confusing to me? Obviously not to others, due to all her POSITIVE RESPONSES?

I had no trouble understanding your post.

I am planning to hit Target in the morning, but I agree, the selection this year stinks. There are only a few things I am wanting to snag.

Wow.... A little bit combative. If someone tells me no offense then I don't take offense. I think it's all in the eye of the beholder.

I too have no idea what an iXL is.....

At the top of my list is reading a post that interests me. When I see the words "Target" and "toy" in the same sentence, it peaks my interest. I personally could not understand your post, so I was asking for clarification. Apparently, according to people in this thread, I did it in an inappropriate way, despite the fact that I lead off with "No offense" and ended with poking fun at myself for not understanding it. I got blasted for it by people, and although that hurts my feelings, I will live. I am glad you got great deals on whatever it is you bought. I was hoping to get clarification on what those deals were, but at this point, it isn't worth knowing exactly what they were.

Yes, my mother taught me to say nothing if I had nothing nice to say, but she also taught me to ask questions if I didn't know what something was. She also taught me that ganging up on someone is wrong, so I'm out. :goodvibes
