This was our second Wonder cruise. We went last Oct/Nov as part of the land/sea package. That was very exhausting and I didn't really enjoy the cruise back then. This time we went on just the cruise and boy did I love it. It was so relaxing. We had towel animals all three days while there, a swan, dog, and an elephant. The weather was perfect. We went to the Captain's party and they all said that it was the best weather they had in months. Snorkeling at Castaway Cay was boring because there was nothing to see. We sat with another family for dinner. They were from California. Thank goodness they were normal. I got a signed captain's trading card, got some pins from some of the activities we did and both my sister and I won at bingo the same day. My daughter spent most of the time in the Oceaneers Lab. I went to atlantis and I was soooo disappointed. I didn't like shopping in the Bahamas. I felt very nervous. They were doing some work on the ship. Not to intrusive though. While on Castaway Cay there were so many parents yelling at their kids not to get sand all over them. GET A LIFE PEOPLE, YOU ARE ON A BEACH! I almost said something to one particular woman. She was real mad at her 3-4 yo son. We had the cat. 6 with verandah room 6096 and the only thing I didn't like was the smell of stale cigarette smoke. Well, if you have questions, let me know. Can't wait to do a 7 day Eastern cruise!

You just cracked me up with the line about children and sand! My word some people are just so.....strange! What do they expect?! Guess children aren't allowed to be children anymore!

I didn't care much for the Bahamas or Atlantis either. Took an hour to get someone to take us over to Atlantis, then no matter where we looked or went, there was someone asking us if we were hotel guests. Sheesh! I didn't care much for the shopping either, I am not a haggler by nature - but love a good bargain. My DH kept saying, "it's not worth all this, dear!" And looking back, he was right - although saving 50 cents on a large conch shell seemed worth the walk and crowds at the time!

Although we are going in December (3 land/4 sea) - we will probably stay on the ship and enjoy it rather than deal with the same situation as last time.

We overheard a little girl tell her mother, "Mom, I'm going to tell Grandma that you put me in childcare from the time they opened until they closed. Do you know I was the first child there and the last child to leave?!" Poor kid! She was about 10. My son likes it very much, but he knows it's only for a short time each time (maybe 2 hours at the most). It is fun for them and if they want to stay longer, then let it be their choice!

I love E-bay also!!! I have a Tom Clark gnome collection and have picked up some great deals.

If you have any questions about the Eastern, just ask.

I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise. I'm surprised you were bothered by stale cigarette smoke, I didn't think they allowed smoking in the staterooms.

Thanks for posting this :)

There is smoking on the verandah, not in your room. They make that very clear. We also just had chain smokers next to us. Nothing you can do about it I guess.
