3 Grannies, Disney Dancing & Deviltry! Oh, my!!

For the first time today I learned about vertigo after a cruise - it sounded worrisome so decided to check with my neurologist - never would I have guessed that it is not recommended I take a cruise because of the way my MS has exacerbated in the past. Sadly, I had to cancel.

I feel terrible - we were very much looking forward to this cruise - no doubt someone else will be excited to take my place!!!! ::yes::

Rosie, we still have lots to plan for the Grannie trip!! :cool1:

Christine

I am so sorry to read you had to cancel your cruise plans.

Good Morning All!

Somehow on the plane from Orlando to California I caught a cold so no multi quoting for me today! :rotfl2:

Beds in the timeshare: one bedroom has a king bed, the other has two queens and there is a fold out couch in the living room.

There are two bathrooms which should help with getting ready in the morning.

There is a full kitchen .... I don't plan to do any cooking!!! It's vacation!!! :cool1: But I will want to have coffee, some bagels/muffins, yogurt, some snacks and of course Janet and I will need to have our diet Coke/Pepsi.

As far as ADRs go .... Boatwrights ... steak was very good but if we don't eat there we at least have to go see Piano Bob!!! So much fun! Rosie you will love it .... dancing .... need I say more .... Christine don't worry you really don't have to get up and do all the stuff .... I didn't do the hand jive thing .... no way this old lady could keep up! :rotfl:

I also agree with who ever said it the 50s Prime Time would be a lot of fun with this group .... if Janet and Magic can behave!!! :rotfl2:

As for other ADRs I'm open to anything. I'm not a picky eater and can find something to eat anywhere!

I hope to be there a week before all of you get there .... a little vacation with the family!! Not sure where we'll stay. :confused3 DH doesn't like to be away from home for much more than a week so this works out great!! And we all know how much I hate long vacations!!! :lmao:

Happy Planning!!!

Oh sounds like lots of room, in the suite Linda !! You figure out who sleeps where !! I am so glad NO cooking !!!! As long as I have coffee, I will be a HAPPY Camper .I will definately be dancing and prancing to Piano Bob !!! Okay who is Magic that can't behave ????:confused3Do I have a new nickname , as I am usually the one so wrongly accused of misbehaving;):lmao: Last time I was at 50's I misbehaved on purpose (okay I usually do) and still wasn't put in the corner !!:rotfl2:
Okay now when are you arriving for your stay at the suite, I want to start formulating my game plan here before Christine changes my mind :rotfl2::rotfl2:

All I could think of was Caddyshack!!:rotfl:

Mmmm ... breakfast at Kona's :thumbsup2 Hope you get over your sniffles soon!

:rotfl2: All that sacrifical wine has taken its toll!

Linda, hope your cold is short, we need you back to mult quoting

PEPSI?? BLASPHEMY Linda!! :rotfl2:

Yes, Linda left me out high and dry on the hand jive, but no matter, this wannabee kept up just fine!!

That was ME :) And if you remember correctly Linda, you didn't set the most shining example, it was only Magic and me that got called out for our manners... guess our Mama Linda didn't raise us right! :rotfl:

Wow, I don't know Linda, you may have some withdrawal if your vaca is only 2 weeks ..... :)

It has been a few years since I did the Hand jive , but I am sure I'd keep up!! So do I take it a little stronger pepsi is called for ladies !!!:rotfl2:

Well, darn! Just finished a long multi quote and poof!!!

In a nutshell:
Linda and Rosie, hope your colds are mild and short lived. I am just getting over a whopper.
Janet, Sooo happy the migraine has passed and you are feeling much better.
Jeannette

Kona, Via Napoli, GF Cafe....yum
I am still hoping for FTBBQ or Trail's End. ;)
BUT my vote is for Prime Time OR Piano Bob - no way I can survive BOTH!!! :scared1:
Eating is fun - it will have been THREE long years since my last visit - as a former AP holder, I plan to make up for lost time and hit every attraction more than once, even if it means less food!:rotfl2::rotfl:

We can thank my iPad for the latest word changes: Wino, Corpse and AFR???

Do I want to know what AFR means??? :rotfl2:

Honestly. I do not get all the hype over an iPad - if it didn't allow me to get one line and keep in touch, I would almost hate the thing. Wish I'd bought a new laptop rather than an iPad...live and learn!

HUGS to all!!!

Christine we LOVE your iPad, it is sooo entertaining !!!:lmao::lmao: If I have to choose between Bob and 50's , I would go with Bob!! Never seen him so it would be a first!!

Linda, hope your cold is short, we need you back to mult quoting

PEPSI?? BLASPHEMY Linda!! :rotfl2:

I only drink Coke when I'm at Disney! So our frig will be stocked with both! :thumbsup2

Yes, Linda left me out high and dry on the hand jive, but no matter, this wannabee kept up just fine!!

Hey I'm just way too old and slow to keep up! :rotfl2:

Yes you got to have your nose in the corner but Magic got to have that cute little hat. Christine it's okay none of this will happen to you! I managed to sit with these two and not get in a bit of trouble!

Wow, I don't know Linda, you may have some withdrawal if your vaca is only 2 weeks ..... :)

I just can't decide where to stay for the first week. DD would like to stay onsite but I'm really spoiled with all of the room in the timeshare especially since it will be the 3 of us. Staying off site and using the rental car sure was easy this last trip.

HUGS to all!!!

If I have to choose between Prime Time and Piano Bob I would choose Piano Bob. But Christine as far as I know there really isn't any other good place to eat at HS ... can you think of any???? Besides with Rosie there and Janet who can't keep her elbows off the table the server will never even notice either of us!!! :cool1:

I have the unit booked for checking in on Dec 5th and out on Dec 12th. I believe check in time is either 3 or 4 pm. I will already be in Orlando and will be checking out of somewhere else, taking my family to the airport and then checking in here. My plan is to then make a trip to the grocery store to pick up whatever we want/need ... which I know will include coffee and Diet Coke!!! :rotfl2: I figure if I do the shopping before you all get there we won't waste precious play time! :thumbsup2 As the trip gets closer I'll have you email me a list of items you'd like.

As far as meals out go .... what Janet and I did was I used my Tables card and she just paid me cash .... seemed to work out okay ... so I would suggest that you bring cash or a combination of cash and Disney gift cards with you. If you do use the gift cards probably the $25 ones will be the easiest to use for meals.

Rosie .... Magic is a Dis friend of ours who lives in Florida. She met up with us for a couple of days and I really hope she shows up for at least part of the granny trip .... she's lots of fun .... you'll really like her. :thumbsup2 Deena is another Dis friend who lives in Orlando so I'm pretty sure we'll see her too ... I hope. :goodvibes

Almost any ADRs are fine by me - including the Dessert Party. I am very excited about the granny trip!!!

Hopefully, at Prime Time we will get a table against a wall so Linda and I can sit quietly while Rosie & Janet get into mischief.:rotfl:

My one request for the condo: regular Pepsi! :thumbsup2:sick:

Linda, I did read to request a renovated unit - would that be possible? Upper floor? Fingers crossed!:goodvibes

Next week will pick up my first gift card to stash away for the granny trip!:yay:

Pepsi .... got it! :thumbsup2 I was thinking that it would be nice to have some breakfast food .... bagels, etc for the mornings we don't have a breakfast ADR to save a little money. :thumbsup2

I'll have to start doing a little more research about this timeshare and find out what and how to request units. I might even give you the reservation number and phone number when we get closer and you can talk to them so we make sure it is something that works for you. I'll start reading Trip Adviser and maybe do a search on the Dis to see what all I can find out. I've stayed at other Marriott timeshares in Orlando and they've all been fine but then again I'm really not picky.

Oh, no worries about me! I will take handy Lysol wipes and be fine. ::yes::

I was reading some reviews on trip advisor and a couple of other sites - some guests posted photos - some units were in bad shape and had a LOT of mold. One had about 3 ft of moldy carpet directly inside the front door - seemed odd to me that Marriott would allow a unit to get that bad....and also that the family did not immediately request a different unit since it was a health hazard.
Then of course, the typical petty complaints. I didn't pay attention to location, but did read a few times to request a renovated unit - I thought that was good to know. Suggested upper floor because I know Janet and myself would prefer not to be on the first floor - though we would be fine if that's what we were assigned.:thumbsup2

Great idea about the breakfast foods. :teeth:

How much cash do you think???:confused3 Is the Tables card a credit card ? Maybe I could give you money ahead to pay on it ??Just a thought , how would the gift cards work to pay for my food on your card ?? I gues I am confused :rotfl2::rotfl2:Can't wait to meet Magic and Deena !!! Of course I will be meeting all of you too!!
So continuing with the fod choices , At MK I have to try the Plaza never done that and I know Christine likes it !! At DHS I agree not much choice although SCi Fi isn't bad,, Ak I know FTB is on Christine's list, and Epcot just has soooooo many good ones ,Via Napoli is the top of the list though I haven'y tried that either, I am game for GF cafe what ever meal you want , Kona is breakfast, I am sure Christine will want EOS, which is fine with me !! Christine also wants to do Fort Wilderness restaurant !!This will be my first ewvr trip with NO ddp!!!!!:faint:

We MUST do Prime Time so we can watch the antics of Rosie and her partner in crime, Janet! ::yes::

What is EOS????

Thanks for link, Linda! It is a beautiful resort!! :goodvibes

P.s. Rosie, the Tables in Wonderland card give a 20% discount on all TS - but can only be used by the card holder, so we would pay cash to also receive the discount - essentially, about equal to the cost of the tip - which is nice. Since my way of saving for the trip buying Disney gift cards, I will probably get a separate check.:thumbsup2

In our Targets the gift cards are at the end of the check out aisle - or maybe it would be called the beginning? It is before you actually walk into the check out - a display. But don't depend on a store clerk because the one I spoke with on the on the phone said target didn't carry Disney gift cards - I asked her to walk to the end of the aisle while on the phone and sure enough she saw the gift cards! Just check wherever they have other non target gift cards and the Disney cards should be there too.:thumbsup2. I have seen them at Walgreens too, but not sure if only in stock for the holidays.

Or you'd use your gift card to pay for your portion of the bill .... that's why I suggested getting $25 gift cards rather than the $50 .... easier to pay for the meal. As long as the gift card you use is the full $25 it'll be real easy to keep track ... if the meal is $20 we use your gift card and I give you $5 back. If the meal is more than $25 use two gift cards or a combination of one card and cash. Easy ....
