.1. Paul Brown
2. Bill Belichick ( not slight on him by Not being no 1, but Paul Brown had already invented scouting, comples plays and the short passing game)
3. Bill Walsh

And this is for free, the devil ( Art Modell ) fired both Belichick and Brown

1) Walsh - basically invented passing as we know it, completely changed the game forever
2) Lombardi
3) Belichick

if see you follow the game close, but he was Paul Browns Offensive Coordinator and learned it from Brown, but as you see I included Walsh, one of the greatest ever

Yea unfortunately for Brown, he didn't have Montana, so he's a bit out of luck. And honestly, I think with any of these rankings, luck plays into it big time. Would Belichick have been considered the GOAT if he didn't have Brady for all these years? Phil Jackson is generally considered one of the greatest NBA coaches of all-time but he coached Jordan and Pippen, and then Kobe and Shaq. So I don't know, hard to say really.

I aree, but Brown won more Championships (before they were call Super Bowls then anyone, with different qb) but the biggest mistake Brown made, was when he reited from coaching 77? anyway he has to good coordinators he decided who was gonna replace him , Walsh or Homer Jones, lol, and Homer become the next head coach of Cinn, and one the greatest ever went to the Bay

I don’t even think I could name three lol

1) Mike Ditka
2) John Madden
3) I think there was one named Lovey or something
4) drawing a blank
5) Bill Belichuk (?) only because of yesterday
6) Was Heisman a coach?

Yeah..football isn’t my thing. Now, if you want 20 NHL coaches I got you covered lol

Lovie Smith as the 3rd best coach in NFL history? lol oh man, as a Bears fan, that's funny.

I couldn't name 3 football coaches if my life depended on it! I can name 2: Cowher and Tomlin. I don't know football, but I know Bill Cowher was one of the best coaches. I can't stand watching football, so when I find myself in a situation where I have to watch, I watch the coaches and support people. I study their body language, try to guess what they are saying, pecking order and team dynamics. its much more interesting than watching the game progress in fits and starts--I don't understand how anyone can enjoy watching a game where the actual play time is an hour but it is stretched out over 3 hours! They play for 1 minute then stand around for 3! I find it frustrating. When you watch football on tv the coaches and staff get more time onscreen than the players and I guess I turn it into my own soap opera.

Anyway, Cowher had this magnetism, his team obviously respected him because he earned it, not out of fear. It was mesmerizing to watch him be the center of their little world. You couldn't usually hear his microphone, but you could see when he talked everyone around him shut up and listened--even the team owners. He was interesting to watch. The new Steelers coach isn't so much fun to watch but he is still young.

That was terrible. Do you ever watch that series, "A Football Life?" They did a really interesting episode on "Cleveland '95" about that - it might be tough to watch but well done. And speaking of your coach #2, time to catch the subway downtown for a duck boat parade...

Tom Landry- Hard to ignore 20 consecutive winning seasons and two super bowls
Bill Walsh
George Halas or Shula can't argue with either one being here

I seen it, and yes it was hard for me, we had the greatest football minds for the next 20 years all togeather in one staff here in Cleveland, it was going to be football nirvana . But The Lord of the Flies (Modell) took all that away from us

Yes, Heisman was a coach (College, not NFL). Ever hear of that 222-0 Georgia Tech over Cumberland.. Heisman was the coach of the Tech team. The story behind that game provides clues to the score..... not as impressive as it might sound

1. Belichick
2. Landry
3. Lombardi
