We've done the 3/4 night cruises three times now, so we're considering the 7 night this summer (Western).

Is there anything in particular I should be concerned about with the 7 night western? We have a 7 year old DD who loves the ship, but I do worry about her getting bored on the longer trip.

Also any advice on things to see/avoid would be appreciated. Sailing on 8/14. Thanks.

We did 2 3-nights and finally booked the 7. I wish we had done it earlier!!! It sounds like there are so many things to do and you will have so much more relaxing time. I know we felt like we always had to go, go, go and we were so tired that we didn't get to enjoy much of the night life. DS did though!

I know this time we'll take the time to just sit (or nap!) I'm sure that will be great for your dd. It is always so hard when the little ones are tired. If she's like most kids, the pool never seems to get old.

I would check out the navigators to see what you all will be able to do!

Have fun!

We did the 4 day, then a 7 day the following year. The 7 day is so much more relaxing. Even so, we still didn't do everything we wish we could have. Our children were 5 and 6.5 on the 7 day, and they made friends on the ship. But, when they were on the 4 day, their friendships were not as strong (no time to really get to know each other).
You will love the 7 day (especially the days at sea!) and your 7 year old will not get bored.
Have fun!

There is so much more to do on a 7 day cruise. THere are more acitivities, events, etc., different ports to explore. It is very different between the 3/4 day and 7 day. The 3 day is like a quick refresher and the 7 day is more like a relaxing vacation.

If your DD has already done the 3/4 day itins, she'll like the 7 day just as well, if not, better.

Especially if she makes friends, (which she will, as someone said, she'll have more time to get to know others,) and the cruise will still seem to end too soon!

There is also the Character Breakfast!:D

My kids wish we would always to the 7 day! We did the Western 7 night in 2002, and it was nice. They really got to know the kids and CMs in the Lab much better, and there was so much for them to do.

We did a 3 day this past year and they felt like it went by too fast (but we spent 4 days at WDW this time). This year we are going on the 7 day Eastern this year and my one regret is finding out we have to get off the ship very early at St. Thomas. I did not now about that. On the Western they do not do anything like that. This will probably be our last Eastern cruise because of that.
