3/28FINALLY COMPLETED*August 2013*I can't go to Disney without a Pete!

We headed back to the room as Animal Kingdom closed, soaking wet from Kali River Rapids.
We had dinner reservations for Ohana at like 9:45, in hopes of being able to watch Wishes while we ate! Pete also really wanted to hang at the pool, which I had little interest in because WE HAVE POOLS AT HOME. But a nap and a shower were not things I was against.
This trip was partly a birthday gift for Pete, but he refused to wear a birthday pin, so it wasnt very birthday-ish.
We walked into our room to this:
IMG_4248.jpg

There was also a backpack with our names embroidered on it and filled with treats!
photo-6.jpg

My amazing friend Meggi, who was my greatest resource on the trip, had sent Pete a birthday surprise. I obviously immediately burst into tears, because that's what I do, and called her immediately to thank her. Originally the gift was just the backpack and was supposed to be in our room when we check in. When she didnt hear about it when we arrived (we were texting non stop about everything I was doing because she gets so excited too), she called Disney worried that it hadn't arrived. To make up for the short site, they included a bunch more treats! We got a great picture frame and a stuffed Sorcerer Mickey and ugh, just how sweet. I was so happy. I know so many wonderful people and just felt really happy and loved and blessed this whole trip.

We then headed over to the pool so I could share Ariel my bathing suit inspired by her.
photo-5.jpg

She was clearly impressed and sang me a song about it.

IMG_4250.jpg

We headed over to Ohana pretty early and checked in and requested a table that we could see Wishes from if possible. We sat that the bar and waited for a while. I got a Laupu Laupu which was fine. I was just excited that it was actually in a pineapple. We waited for a while but our buzzer finally went off at 9:50 and they brought us right over to a table at one of the windows! As we sat and settled in, the music started and Wishes was on!!:sad::sad:

IMG_4252.jpg

There was a tree a little bit in the way, but I didn't even care. It was so perfect and I was just so happy. I was waterworks all over the place

IMG_4255.jpg

IMG_4261.jpg

Finally the cousins started coming around with food, which I clearly was diving into too fast to take photos of!

IMG_4267.jpg

I didnt tell them I was gluten free because I figured hey it's all meat! I did try the bread though which was a huge mistake, BUT IT WAS SO GOOD :guilty: I wanted to eat the whole thing and my stomach hurt pretty bad, but it was worth it to at least try it!

Pete ordered a drink called "The Backscratcher", which actually came with one and the cousins took some really nice photos of us :sad2:
IMG_4271.jpg

IMG_4269.jpg

This one was ok though
IMG_4270.jpg

IMG_4273.jpg

Pete got some banana thing for lunch, which he loved. I hate bananas and had no interest in that. They gave me fruit, which was a nice, light thing to eat after all that meat!

My favorite part of O'hana was that we didnt really have to order anything! I'm so indecisive and it was really nice to have them just bring me out food :goodvibes

After we went and explored the Poly a little bit. What a lovely place. We will definitely spend a special occasion there some day! We were able to catch a boat over to MK and were the only ones on it! It was such a lovely ride and so nice to share together. Sigh. So happy.

You are just an updating machine today.

You got some really great safari pictures.

We love Flame Tree for lunch; we've not been in a couple of years but hope to rectify that in Septembeer.

We've never done Flights of Wonder....one of these days.

I cannot believe you rode EE nine times in a row. I can't even do it once.

What a fun surprise in your room when you got back. That was very sweet of your friend.

What a great table you got at Ohana. I would like to sit there just with a drink (didn't care for the food at all) to watch Wishes.

Haha I haven't updated in so long that I figured I should make it worth it right?!
I am not super into birds but the show was a lot of fun and a nice chance to sit down!
After every ride at Everest we would look at each other while unbuckling and say again? And nod and giggle as we hopped out and got back on. I'm so lucky to have someone totally on the same page as me :)

We really lucked out with tables the whole trip. I have no idea what I did to get suck great luck but I'm happy to keep doing it!!

We had been handling the heat pretty well up to this point, but yikes! What a sweaty park!

So it was the park that was sweaty, not you.

See? I told you that you guys looked fine.

We headed straight for the safari hoping to still catch some of the animals that only come out early in the morning.

Wow! Things have really changed since the last time I was there.

So now they let you catch the animals, huh?

Awesome.

Is it catch and release? Or can you keep what you catch?

I would like a cheetah... or a turtle.

I know, different ends of the spectrum, but either would be cool.

But it was definitely already a million degrees out. One million.

Slight correction.
I was monitoring the weather that day.
1,000,002.46 degrees.

I'll let it go this time.

The babies! I definitely voted on the name, but have no idea which name I voted for :confused3 It probably won though, right? I have great taste.

I believe you.

I wrote something completely different here... then thought, "She doesn't know me that well yet..."

So I deleted it.

You may have great taste, but you might have found it tasteless.

Nice bum, where ya from?!

:lmao:

We then we were wandering around and I remembered the flights of wonder show and we passed it just as it was starting! Pete loves birds and this show was definitely pretty cool.

I know the show doesn't get much comment on the DIS, but I remember thinking it was pretty good, too.

Next time we're gunna sit right in the middle so a bird can try to eat Pete's hand/take his dollar.

:scared: A bird is going to eat Pete's hand??? And take his money too???

:faint:

they were telling everyone the FP line was closed because stand by was so short.

Just what every EE addict wants to hear!

We obviously went again. And again. And again and again and again. I think like 9 times?

Aw, man! Colour me jealous!

We asked the CM working the line if it was always like this at the end of the day and he said yep! This is the best time to ride! So after the parade, head straight there and keep running on!

Good info. Thanks!

We went on Kali River Rapids right before leaving and despite wearing my poncho, I still got SOAKED.

There's just no avoiding it.
I think you could wear one of those Hazmat suits and still get wet.

This trip was partly a birthday gift for Pete, but he refused to wear a birthday pin, so it wasnt very birthday-ish.

"birthday-ish"... it's a word.

We walked into our room to this:
IMG_4248.jpg

Nice!

My amazing friend Meggi, who was my greatest resource on the trip, had sent Pete a birthday surprise.

That's a good friend.
You should probably keep her.

I obviously immediately burst into tears, because that's what I do

::yes::

We then headed over to the pool so I could share Ariel my bathing suit inspired by her.

She was clearly impressed and sang me a song about it.

Just when you think you know all her tattoos... another one shows up.

So what did she sing? I hear she's into screamo music now.

I got a Laupu Laupu which was fine. I was just excited that it was actually in a pineapple.

While I agree with always trying a drink that's served inside a pineapple, I don't like rum... so I'll have to pass.

As we sat and settled in, the music started and Wishes was on!!:sad::sad:

You got your wish! Nice!

There was a tree a little bit in the way, but I didn't even care. It was so perfect and I was just so happy. I was waterworks all over the place

the cousins took some really nice photos of us :sad2:

Aw well, third time's the charm.

My favorite part of O'hana was that we didnt really have to order anything! I'm so indecisive and it was really nice to have them just bring me out food :goodvibes

You sound just like my youngest DD.

We were able to catch a boat over to MK and were the only ones on it! It was such a lovely ride and so nice to share together. Sigh. So happy.

Sounds like a really wonderful ending to your day.
Thanks for the updates! :goodvibes

Elephant bum! :lmao: too funny!

What a great table at 'Ohana to see Wishes. I'm quick to shed a tear for almost anything sentimental or special. I love pretty much everything about the food at 'Ohana. Bummer about the bread - that must not have been fun after.

What a kind and thoughtful gift from your friend! :)

I mean, it was a little of both...

Slight correction.

hahah phew. I'm glad. Wouldn't want that being held over my head. Unless it was raining. Might be handy to have something over my head then.

I know the show doesn't get much comment on the DIS, but I remember thinking it was pretty good, too.
I actually heard about it first here on the Dis, but I agree, it doesn't get enough hype!

That's a good friend.
You should probably keep her.
shes the best of the best!

One of these days I'm gunna get to AK really early so I can catch some lions, like you! I also really want to go early so I can go to Rafiki's Planet Watch and see some of their vet procedures!

We really lucked out with tables. I don't know if maybe just being a couple helped or just because we were really nice or what!

She really is the sweetest and most thoughtful person I know! I'm lucky to have her!!

Man where even was I? I am not good at keeping up with this! Been spending too much time reading every FP+ thread!

Anyways.

The next day Pete wanted to head to Epcot so he could finish drinking around the world. I had originally planned on going back to AK this morning and to get there early and try to catch one of the veterinar procedures that they do at Rafiki's Planets. I'm a vet tech self and I would LOVE to be a vet tech at Disney:love:

I got up early and Pete was waking up as I was leaving. We were gunna meet up at Epcot later. I got all the way to the bus and then on one and immediately realized that I had forgotten my phone (my camera and contact with Pete) in the room and had to run off before the doors shut!
I went back to the room and Pete was up and ready to go, so we figured we'd just go to Epcot together. We waited a looooong time for an Epcot bus and it was BLAZING HOT out, so when a HS bus pulled up, we just got on it to get out of the heat! We got out at HS and I remembered we could take one of the Friendship boats to Epcot and one was just pulling up! What a nice little ride! I love that Disney has so many ways to get around.

As soon as we walked through the International Gateway, A CM noticed my ears and polka dot dress and starting calling me Ms. Mouse and telling me how much she loved working for my husband, which was cute. She then quizzed me on where all the characters met in Epcot, which I passed with flying colors.
That proved to be really helpful as well, since I spotted Belle meeting with basically no line as we entered the park!!! Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorites so I literally ran over and got inline. Which was silly because that made me sweatier and more out of breath than normal for meeting a character.
IMG_4279.jpg

She was so sweet and the perfect start to the day.

Pete needed a drink from England to help finish his drinking around the world and I saw where Mary Poppins, another one of my all time faves (just got my 50th anniversary edition! Can't wait to see Saving Mr Banks!!)would be meeting later, so I made note of the time and we went into Rose and Crown. It was the first bar open in Epcot so we crossed that country off Pete's list.
tumblr_mrw0t6y0LV1qa6z90o1_500.jpg

Next, we went back to Morocco. I couldn't stop thinking about how good Tangierine was, so I got food while Pete crossed Morocco off his list.
tumblr_mrwbzmloxK1qa6z90o1_500.jpg

We then headed over to meet Mary.
IMG_4322.jpg

She made the little kids who were infront of me behave and had some good nanny lines that she used on them which was pretty great. She at one point asked me "and what do I always say" which I didn't know how to reply to, because Mary Poppins has a lot of one liners.

Then as we were walking over to Canada, I saw the big gates infront of the events pavillion swing open and there it was...
IMG_4280.jpg

CHARACTER TRAINING. JACK-FREAKING-POT!
I'm pretty sure I screamed. I was so bummed after we didn't catch characterpalooza, so this was PERFECT.

IMG_4281.jpg

IMG_4289.jpg

IMG_4293.jpg

Mickey what are you looking at?

IMG_4297.jpg

Pete was just excited as I was!

IMG_4299.jpg

I had brought the backpack that Meggi had sent me, which had a autograph book in it. I'm so glad I brought it this day!

IMG_4305.jpg

IMG_4309.jpg

IMG_4310.jpg

IMG_4311.jpg

We had a real awkward couple moments where I was trying to get him to sign my book but he wanted a high five when I had thought he was reaching for the book.

IMG_4313.jpg

Max was also there but they had closed the door and were trying to get people out, so we decided to skip him. The whole thing was probably about 15 minutes. What a whirlwind! We were so excited that we caught it!!

After that, we had our final stop in Canada. I have tried to edit out Pete's feelings on the Canada gift shop, filled with hockey teams he hates. :rolleyes1

Man where even was I?

Well, for a while you were over there, then you moved that way, and then for a while....

ummm....

Sounds like I'm stalking you...

Sweet! I've always wanted a title!

Stalker.

Maybe not such a good title......

The next day Pete wanted to head to Epcot so he could finish drinking around the world.

I'm pretty sure the rules state that it has to be done in one day, young lady!

I had originally planned on going back to AK this morning and to get there early and try to catch one of the veterinar procedures that they do at Rafiki's Planets. I'm a vet tech self and I would LOVE to be a vet tech at Disney:love:

I KNEW IT!!!!

I knew there was some reason why this TR appealed to me.

Before we got married, my DW was a vet tech.

Word of advice... if Pete does propose, just make sure he's not gonna take you to some backwoods town where there's no vet.

just sayin... :rolleyes1:

I got all the way to the bus and then on one and immediately realized that I had forgotten my phone (my camera and contact with Pete) in the room and had to run off before the doors shut!

I'd be the guy on the bus who then turns to his buddy and says, "Bus-a-phobia."

I went back to the room and Pete was up and ready to go, so we figured we'd just go to Epcot together.

So that worked out okay after all.

We waited a looooong time for an Epcot bus and it was BLAZING HOT out, so when a HS bus pulled up, we just got on it to get out of the heat!

I think you're the first person I've heard of who completely changes their plans not once... but twice.
And having plans change because it's hot, has got to be a new one too!

We got out at HS and I remembered we could take one of the Friendship boats to Epcot and one was just pulling up! What a nice little ride! I love that Disney has so many ways to get around.

I probably wouldn't have made that leap.
Nice going!

As soon as we walked through the International Gateway, A CM noticed my ears and polka dot dress and starting calling me Ms. Mouse and telling me how much she loved working for my husband, which was cute.

:rotfl:

I literally ran over and got inline. Which was silly because that made me sweatier and more out of breath than normal for meeting a character.

That's just Disney for ya.
It makes little kids out of all of us, doesn't it?

I saw where Mary Poppins, another one of my all time faves (just got my 50th anniversary edition! Can't wait to see Saving Mr Banks!!)

Mine too.
Don't have it, but would love it.
And, Absolutely!

We then headed over to meet Mary.
She made the little kids who were infront of me behave and had some good nanny lines that she used on them which was pretty great.

That's just awesome.
What kid wouldn't want to be told what to do by Mary Poppins???

She at one point asked me "and what do I always say" which I didn't know how to reply to, because Mary Poppins has a lot of one liners.

True. I'd probably pick "practically perfect in every way."

Although she does say "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" a lot.

CHARACTER TRAINING. JACK-FREAKING-POT!

:rotfl:
I'm sorry, you're not quite clear here.
Were you pleased?

:lmao:

I'm pretty sure I screamed. I was so bummed after we didn't catch characterpalooza, so this was PERFECT.

I'd say that's a "yes".

We had a real awkward couple moments where I was trying to get him to sign my book but he wanted a high five when I had thought he was reaching for the book.

Newsflash! Woman stabs wooden puppet in the hand! Splinters a-plenty!

After that, we had our final stop in Canada. I have tried to edit out Pete's feelings on the Canada gift shop, filled with hockey teams he hates. :rolleyes1
58242978-d60e-45d6-9b1e-426c276545c8.jpg

Hey! D'em's fightin' words!

Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

Aw, Maddie! This is so sweet! It feels like forever that this happened but I'm so happy to read all about it now.
And your pictures of O'Hana/Wishes - I'm getting real emotional over here. :wizard:

I love reading this TR because I can hear your voice and know your sarcasm/jokes/pun-love and I am just dying of laughter.

You're the greatest! :cloud9:

IT WAS FOREVER AGO. TOO.LONG.AGO.

YOU are the greatest!

I'm a little behind because we were at Disney the first week of this month and I am trying to catch up on everyone's threads and get my TR started.

I'm glad you enjoyed Ohana. Love the photos with the characters at Epcot.

I hopped right on your newest TR!

I had almost an entire post made up when my computer hiccuped and the entire thing disappeared :(:(. I promise I haven't completely abandoned ship! Well get to the end of this tr at some point!!!

(but hey guess what! We booked out flights for next August and I think were about to get a great deal on a room at the poly!!!!!)

Ugh. I know exactly how you feel.
I just did the exact same thing on my latest chapter.

Always fun when you've spent hours on a chapter only to say, "Back to the drawing board!" :)

:)

:)

Man, after losing that last post I felt incredibly defeated. But now I'm back and ready to try again!

Oh and exciting news, we officially booked the Poly for this August!:cool1:! The contruction on the pool has been pushed back to August from May, so I'm hoping that maybe they will push it back just a little further to September, because then all the kids who want to swim will be back in school, right? That makes sense, right?

ok so.

At some point after all the character excitment, I grabbed a cider at Rose and Crown. My time line is a little fuzzy at this point. But hard cider is generally my go to drink!
photo2.jpg

Pete finished up drinking around the world.
tumblr_mrw0t6y0LV1qa6z90o1_500.jpg

tumblr_mrwbzmloxK1qa6z90o1_500.jpg

We headed over to future world and did Captain EO and I had wanted to do Ellen's Universe of Energy but it was down!
Luckily the wait for Mission:Space wasn't too bad so we figured we'd try that out.
IMG_4324.jpg

Then we got in the single rider line for Test Track. I don't know why more people don't do this! We ended up in the same car and barely waited in line! We also got to design cars, but mine didn't end up getting put into the ride for whatever reason. I think Pete's ended up winning!
IMG_4323.jpg

IMG_4327.jpg

Thumbs up Epcot. Job well done. We love you!

We then hopped over to MK. The train was pulling up just as we were walking in, so we figured we would hop on and see where it took us!
Here is a really bad photo of Pete on it :goodvibes
IMG_4332.jpg

We got off in Frontierland and I wanted to try a Dole Whip!
photo1-1.jpg

The idea of pineapple syrup, especially in that heat, did not sound good, so I opted for the orange swirl. I loooove Creamsicles, so this was so good. Does it still count as a Dole Whip?

Then I heard parading! The Move it Shake it Celebrate it parade was going on!
What a goofy parade!
IMG_4334.jpg

IMG_4347.jpg

I figured this was the closest I was going to come to getting a photo of Woody and me.

IMG_4340.jpg

Hey Sebastian!

IMG_4349.jpg

And the closest I was probably going to come to one with Genie!

I feel like this parade get's a lot of guff but I thought it was so cute! What a fun way to get to interact with the characters, but I bet it is a total nightmare to be one of the human dancers/attendants!

Next up, LOTS OF TEARS!

After the parade, I think we rode Space Mountain again. And probably a couple other things. The wait for The Little Mermaid ride wasn't bad, so we finally hopped on. Little Mermaid was the first movie I ever saw in theaters and one of my absolute favorites. The Disboards seems to have a particular distain for this ride, but I'm still pretty new to Disney rides and it would of been crayon drawings on old pieces of newspaper and I probably would of still loved it because I just love the Little Mermaid. The effect they have to make you feel like you were going under water was my favorite part and obviously where I started crying.

IMG_4353.jpg

IMG_4359.jpg

I really loved the Under the Sea part.

IMG_4365.jpg

IMG_4369.jpg

I hate that none of the Vanessa story line was included, but I can't be greedy.
I loved it.

IMG_4373.jpg

I wish King Triton would adopt me.

Finally, it was time for our BOG reservation!! I had originally only been able to snag one for around 9pm. When I had booked our trip, I had no idea that reservations for any Disney restaurant generally should of been done at 180 days and was happy to at least have a reservation at all. The main issue was that this was going t be our last night and I had to see Wishes on our last night. After months and months of obsessively checking MDE and Disboards for cancellations, I finally snagged a 7:45! How perfect!!!

We checked in and went right in.

IMG_4375.jpg

This nice lady tried to get her kids out of the way when she saw I was taking a photo, but the entrance area gets kind of congested and I didn't want to be in the way, so I settled for a photo with kids in it. At least they have ponchos on, which is cute.

IMG_4377.jpg

I love unicorns. I have 2 of them tattooed on me, as well as a narwhal.

IMG_4379.jpg

These were so cute.

They called our name pretty quickly and when we stepped into the ballroom...I lost it. Like. Really really bad. The CM was so nice and just kind of laughed and said "So this is like your favorite thing ever, huh?" I just nodded through my sobs.
But he walked us over to our table RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE WINDOWS and oh the sobbing. I thanked him profusely and wanted to hug him but he probably wanted to get away from me pretty fast.

IMG_4383.jpg

God, it is so so beautiful in there and the snow is such an amazing effect. I just kept looking at the windows and tearing up again because I'm a total lunatic but also because it really is just so wonderful. So freaking magical. ugh.

IMG_4389.jpg

Like come on, how is this place real.

IMG_4394.jpg

I couldn't believe we kept lucking out with such great tables.

IMG_4400.jpg

The chef came out and talked to me because of my non-gluteness and assured me that this was going to be an awesome meal. And it really really really was. I believe this was the potato leek soup which I had heard so much about and was gluten free to begin with, so I eagerly order some. It was so lovely and he brought me some gluten free rolls to eat with it. I really had to pace myself though because the chef promised me that the porkchop I ordered would be the best I'd ever had.

IMG_4401.jpg

We love mussels.

IMG_4404.jpg

Bum ba da dum! The Beast!

IMG_4418.jpg

My only complaint was that none of our silverware or dishes danced or sang. So disappointing.

IMG_4410.jpg

Sneaking peeks at dessert for later!

IMG_4412.jpg

So the chef was right. This WAS the best pork chop I've ever had. Ever. Ugh. It was literally so moist and cooked PERFECTly. It was so so good. Everything was perfect and I could not have asked for anything better to have had for our last night there.

IMG_4428.jpg

I think I ended up getting this lemon custard thing but being too full and giving it to Pete!

IMG_4427.jpg

IMG_4442.jpg

I'm such an idiot for not having my real camera with me for this meal. Oh well.

After we finished our fairy tale meal, we went and checked out the other rooms. The West Wing is so cool, but I'm glad we didn't sit their for our first dinner. I definitely want to sit there when we have lunch this summer!

IMG_4447.jpg

There is a lot to see in here, but I hate eating in dark places! I need to see what's going on!

IMG_4448.jpg

I had a toy mirror that said things when I was little and my brother found it years later and thought it was the funniest thing. I think he really just likes yelling 'SHOW ME THE BEAST' at it.

IMG_4453.jpg

I tried to wait a while to see the lightening turn the photo, but I felt bad hovering over all the people who were eating. That is another thing about this room that would drive me nuts. Also, people who use flashes in there should be banned from Disney.

IMG_4455.jpg

This room was pretty, but boring. Pretty boring.
Why are ADRs so hard to get when they have this huge, empty room? Is the kitchen not big enough to accommodate the whole place being full?

IMG_4457.jpg

Then we got to meet the Master of this castle! He took my hand and danced me around the room. The PP had my phone at that point to take photos and she didn't take any of us dancing! WHAT AM I NOT PAYING YOU FOR. I really wish she had gotten some photos of that, but also why is it so dark in there?

Up next, WISHES!

Man, after losing that last post I felt incredibly defeated.

Been there.
Done that.
Don't wanna go back.

But probably will.

But now I'm back and ready to try again!

That's the spirit!

So... how long did it take you to get over the "ugh" feeling?

Oh and exciting news, we officially booked the Poly for this August!

Hey that's great!
So we can expect another TR, then?
Hmmmmm?????

The contruction on the pool has been pushed back to August from May, so I'm hoping that maybe they will push it back just a little further to September, because then all the kids who want to swim will be back in school, right? That makes sense, right?

It makes sense.
Perfect sense.
You don't need much of your own to see it.

So they'll probably do it in August. :sad2:

My time line is a little fuzzy at this point. But hard cider is generally my go to drink!

Was it the drink that made it fuzzy? :rotfl2:

Pete finished up drinking around the world.

attaboy

Luckily the wait for Mission:Space wasn't too bad so we figured we'd try that out.

And?
Get sick?
Or did you do non-spinning MS?

Then we got in the single rider line for Test Track. I don't know why more people don't do this! We ended up in the same car and barely waited in line!

I guess the desire to sit with your partner outweighs the convenience...
Or people just don't know.

The idea of pineapple syrup, especially in that heat, did not sound good, so I opted for the orange swirl. I loooove Creamsicles, so this was so good. Does it still count as a Dole Whip?

Nope.
Sorry, but you have to have the Dole Whip float with pineapple.

I have.

But I'm dying to try the orange swirl, now.

Good reason to go back, no?

I figured this was the closest I was going to come to getting a photo of Woody and me.

I really like that pic.

I feel like this parade get's a lot of guff but I thought it was so cute! What a fun way to get to interact with the characters, but I bet it is a total nightmare to be one of the human dancers/attendants!

Never really thought of that.
But then again, I'm not sure if I've even seen that parade.

Next up, LOTS OF TEARS!

Uh, oh.

After the parade, I think we rode Space Mountain again. And probably a couple other things.

That right there, is spot on Trip Reporting. :rotfl:

Little Mermaid was the first movie I ever saw in theaters and one of my absolute favorites.

Cue the water works?

The Disboards seems to have a particular distain for this ride, but I'm still pretty new to Disney rides and it would of been crayon drawings on old pieces of newspaper and I probably would of still loved it because I just love the Little Mermaid.

Really?
I've read a few TRs where people have said they really love it. :confused3

The effect they have to make you feel like you were going under water was my favorite part and obviously where I started crying.

Where's a dam when you need one?

I wish King Triton would adopt me.

:lmao:

Finally, it was time for our BOG reservation!!

I could not for the life of me remember what BOG stood for?
I kept thinking, "Bog? As in swamp? No. Beauty or... Geast? Gaston?"

Dang it!

Had to look it up....

Then, "D'oh!"

When I had booked our trip, I had no idea that reservations for any Disney restaurant generally should of been done at 180 days and was happy to at least have a reservation at all.

Ya gotta start somewhere.
Now you know for next time, right?

The main issue was that this was going t be our last night and I had to see Wishes on our last night.

Oh, oh. We're talking more.. as in copious amounts more... tears. Right?

I love unicorns. I have 2 of them tattooed on me, as well as a narwhal.

Now I gotta go back and look at your pics to see if I can spot 'em.

They called our name pretty quickly and when we stepped into the ballroom...I lost it. Like. Really really bad.

Oh, poor Maddie!

The CM was so nice and just kind of laughed and said "So this is like your favorite thing ever, huh?" I just nodded through my sobs.

:sad2: :rotfl:

But he walked us over to our table RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE WINDOWS and oh the sobbing. I thanked him profusely and wanted to hug him but he probably wanted to get away from me pretty fast.

:lmao:

God, it is so so beautiful in there and the snow is such an amazing effect. I just kept looking at the windows and tearing up again because I'm a total lunatic but also because it really is just so wonderful. So freaking magical. ugh.

I never knew about the snow.
That's so cool.

No pun intended.

And considering the amount of that crap that I've had to shovel this winter...
I'm surprised that I feel that way.

Instead of fleeing this TR while screaming.

Like come on, how is this place real.

Imagineers, my dear. Imagineers.

The chef came out and talked to me because of my non-gluteness

non-gluteness

I like that.

My only complaint was that none of our silverware or dishes danced or sang. So disappointing.

:rotfl:

So the chef was right. This WAS the best pork chop I've ever had.

Nice!

I tried to wait a while to see the lightening turn the photo, but I felt bad hovering over all the people who were eating. That is another thing about this room that would drive me nuts. Also, people who use flashes in there should be banned from Disney.

Couldn't agree more.
About all of it.

Don't hover over me. I'm eating here.
And take that flash and stuff it... somewhere.

Why are ADRs so hard to get when they have this huge, empty room? Is the kitchen not big enough to accommodate the whole place being full?

You're not the first person to comment on this.

Then we got to meet the Master of this castle! He took my hand and danced me around the room. The PP had my phone at that point to take photos and she didn't take any of us dancing!

Too bad! That would've made a great shot... or video!

WHAT AM I NOT PAYING YOU FOR.

:lmao:

Up next, WISHES!

And more tears, I'm sure!
Thanks for the chapter! :goodvibes

I am gluten free and super excited now!

Question- how do you have just one beer, stop, and have such a long day?

I would be asleep!
