The men folk where off buying Jkay a little sumpin for her Christmas stocking and my plan was to let Jkay rule the day. There were lots of things she wanted to do that R wouldnt have enjoyed, so Girls Gone Wild - 2, would be all about her.
1st stop would be Peter Pan, she wanted to go to Neverland and never leave. Just as we entered Fantasyland a CM stopped to tell me how much she loved Betsy2. The CM said the colors caught her eye and she thought it was very fashionable. That would be me a fashion icon. As we chit chatted we told her we were heading to see Pan and fly away. She reached into her pocket and handed us 2 fastpasses and said the wait might be awhile. Wooo Hooty love me some fastpasses. We skipped to a loo and walked right on and flew off. Jkay was cheesing and said Betsy2 just might be bringing us some luck. Sure seemed that way to me too.
Remember back when I told you that Jkay had a new grandbaby arriving any day. The babys room was completely decorated in Pooh. Jkay and I had spent many hours shopping and buying little trinkets for the room but hadnt found the perfect Owl as of yet. Since the men folk werent with us we had plenty of time to SHOP. Next stop was Poohs Thoughtful Spot shop. I introduced her to ship this home and she became a woman possessed and went a little nuts. She even bought a 1st birthday Pooh the size of a 4 year old and the little one wasnt even born yet. I will admit that there was squealing, hugging, jumping up and down, and several I love yous when Jkay realized she didnt have to get purchases in a suitcase, through security, on the plane or in the car. Her life had just taken a turn for the best.
With a giant grin on her face we headed over to visit Tinks shop and did a little princess shopping for my granddaughter. We had some shoes to buy and were in search of something that wouldnt clip clop to much on my hardwood floors making the sound of a 100 elephants when she ran down the hallway at home. Ohhhh, so many choices, glittery sneakers, glittery play shoes with a RUBBER bottom and some Tink ballet type slippers. We bought them all and squealed again. Jkay even wanted the sneakers for herself but they didnt come in her size, thankfully.
Jkay had been talking about visiting Tom Sawyers Island since day 1 of planning this trip. I had told her that it involved a lot of walking and wasnt really a ride but she was determined to indeed see it all. We jumped on the raft, made our way across the water, walked around for about 3 seconds, before she decided she could cross this off the list without seeing it all. Have I told you how much I love her?
We decided to pretend we were with these girls and hoped in their vessel and screamed just like them all through Splash.
Jkay loved some Johnny Depp and wanted one more view of Pirates and maybe a stop for some Pirates goodies since she now knew of the ship to my house policy. I was beginning to think R would never speak to me again when he found out I finally told her this. He had made me promise earlier in the week not to tell. I suck at secrets. I figured we better change directions since we were hitting downtown tomorrow and I didnt want her to burn up that credit card prematurely.
We headed over to Caseys to grab a hotdog and fries, split it of course, because I also wanted to hit the bakery for an ice cream sammie for dessert. BTW, a snack and dessert are two different things. Dessert is right after a meal. A snack is following dessert, per my granddaughter, who very carefully watches her words before asking for one or the other.
We walked right into Photopass peeps - so it was a must
Jkay and I also wanted to visit several restrooms along the way. It had become a tradition. Every time we entered, my phone rang. I was curious about the etiquette involved in answering, but always did. I did cover up the mouthpiece when someone flushed. So, if you talked to me and were muted a lot, now you know the reason. My Mom kept telling me it sounded like I was in a tunnel, with a leak.
There was one part of the Magic Kingdom we hadnt visited. I had saved it for just the two of us. I know Jkay and knew this would be a highlight for her so we headed to Toontown and to see if we could get some character pictures. As of yet, Jkay was only looking from afar but I could sense she needed a close up and personal fix. Really, what is a trip without a picture with the Big Cheese? I kid you not when I say she was as excited as any 5 year old on Christmas Eve.
Our 1st stop was Minnies place.
On to Mickeys
Want to see Mickey?
Sorry but I was laughing so hard because Jkay kept saying "I am getting my picture taken with Mickey. Can you believe it?" Well, yeah I can since we are in WDW
Now I have a little surprise for you, Jkay. We are going into this wooden tent and you get to pick the line you want to stand in. What a decision! She decided on Chip and Dale, Daisy Duck and the surprise guest. She wavered on the Princess line but finally made the choice. We entered the room that held what must have seemed like Santas workshop to Jkay and she spotted the mystery guests. She was so excited she quickly took a picture since she thought it was a mistake and we were seeing something we werent supposed to see. Here is the picture
Think she was excited? This is who she was trying to capture and I promised her we could get the shot. Can you say 2 surprise guests?
Truly, I cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard. The CMs were laughing and Jkay almost broke her lips smiling. I tried to regain my composure, but it really was one of those you had to be there moments.
This was one of those afternoons that when you are old, gray and in your rocking chair, you look back at and laugh. I had chosen the perfect in my eyes husband, who would give me the stars and moon if it was in his power and he had given me this trip and shared both the trip and me with one of the best friends a girl could ever have. We were really in the Happiest Place on Earth, Christmas was around the corner and we were two very lucky girls, 3 if you count Betsy2.
Up next This day is no where near being over.
