Pre Trip
On our 24th Anniversarymy dh asked me to renew our vows on our 25th. So for our 25th I wanted to give him a great gift so in Oct. 2002 I decided to start saving for a trip to DW. I gave my sons the choice of either comgin with us in the summer or staying home and us going by ourselves in Oct for a long weekend. The boys wanted to go so we planned for the summer, just before my older son went off to his Freshman year at college.

The only place I could afford was FW which is okay with us since we love to camp. I planned on driving down and camping for a week.

In April my dh couldn't take it any more and wanted to know what we had planned so we told him. When I told him we were going to camp he couldn't figure out how we were going to get all the camping equipment on the plane. I told him we were driving and he told me that he didn't want to. So we came up with the Autotrain. It was good that I told him then because they were having a sale that lasted until April 30th so we got a good deal and it cost us what it would to fly and rent a car. It also meant that we could camp which we love FW.

Aug 15th left the house at 6:30 and headed for Va. The ride was great and we hit no major traffic jams. We had lunch near the train station. We got there at 1:30 and checkin was a brezze. We got to go on the train at 2:30 and promp[tly at 4:00 we were pulling out of the station. We had dinner at 7 and the boys watched a movie at 9. At 11 lights were out and we slept untill 6 the next morning.

We arrived in Fl at 8:30 and by 9:15 we were on our way to Disney. By 10:00 we were at FW . Luckily our site was ready and it was the one I requested 1506 (I had stayed there last year with a friend her daughters). Set up of the tents and the tarp went well and by 12 we were on our way to lunch at Trails End, one of our favorite places to eat.

We spent the rest of the day getting ready for our week., We went out to 192 to a grocery store and bought water, milk, ice ,cereal and snacks so we could eat breakfast at the campsite. We went to church that night and had dinner at McDonalds and went to Winterland/Summerland golf course. Then to bed to get ready for the week.

Aug 17th Our first day in the parks and we decided to do EE to MK We all went to PP and then the boys went off by themselves and dh and I did what we wanted to do. We did SW, Snow White, Pooh, Dumbo, HM, Shooting gallery, where we met a Country Bear, POC where we foudn our sons. They were hungry so we FP Splash and went to lunch at Pecos Bills. We had never eaten there but we will again. Everything that people have said about the food was right we had a great lunch.

We then hit the Tiki room before Splash. We all went on splash together and then the boys went off on their own. We told them to meet us at 3:00 (next time I will check the parade schedule_) We saw Country Bears and tried TTA but it broke down and we had to led off . We met the boys and luckily they were ewarly so we could get to the entrance before the parade. We went back to camp and I swam while the boys took a nap.

Off to Epcot We were going to get dinner when MS called us. It had only a 20 minute wait so we said why not. The wait turned into an hour because of problems. I was getting very nervous but my husband said how bad could it be. Well I and the boys loved it. My dh on the other hand were one of those people you see lying oput on the grass next to the entrance. He didn't talk for almost a full hour. We got him over to the take out place at Mexico and got a table. The boys and I got something to eat while dh just kept his head down. We had a perfect view for Illuminations but I didn't think we were going to stay. We left and on our way to FW we decided to stay for the show so we got a seat near the boat dock and my dh decided he felt well enough to get something to eat. He comes back and hour later and says that while he was eating a sandwhich he lost a cap that had just been pu on this past May. He gets past that and we all enjoy show and head back to camp. He tries to fix his tooth but can't so we need to make a phone call to the dentist some time this week.
