25th Ann.-2 TR w/over 1500 pics!!!!

Okay, so I spent the last 2 hours reading your TRs! I officially got cracking :) haha ! Looks like you are a SERIOUS planner haha !! You guys got to do so many fun things though and I was so happy to see all the pictures; it makes me super excited about taking pictures for my upcoming trip. I can't wait! I'm sad that your family doesn't like Nemo though (which is totally fine with me!). My cousin Kaycee & I love that ride, but I know its definitely not for everyone.

Thanks for sharing all the awesome info you got on the history of DL as well, I REALLY ENJOYED IT!

:rotfl: Thanks for stopping by & catching up!!! I think the problem with Nemo was, we (hubby & I) remember the original subs & this really wasn't much different.... I don't know for sure..... I know that even with Anthony & Addy liking the movie Finding Nemo, they didn't seem very interested in it. Definately not worth the big wait times it always has.

Glad you enjoyed the history & photos!!! We had a great time (first trip....2nd trip a bit disappointing due to interview thing not working out). Will look forward to seeing your reports as they develop!!!!

omg! that motel looks so nasty! i would not have been able to spend one night there! you guys are saints!

We didn't have much choice, since we booked so late & Spring Break was in full force at the parks, the Good Neighbor motels were all booked & we couldn't afford the resort hotels this trip.
I was appalled by the carpets & we spent very little time in there because of it.
I did write to corporate & they've responded to me. They are forwarding our complaint & pics to the owners & they HAVE to respond back to corporate with an explanation. So curious to see if we hear anymore or not & if we will be reimbursed for any of it. I definately told corporate that we would probably never stay at another America's Best Value motel because of this experience.

I'm sorry about the no interview. I know those tests too. Plus they ask you the same questions, but word them differently to confuse you and to make sure you're consistant with your answers. I think it's crazy that if you don't pass you don't get an interview. I hope the CM your DH talked to brings it up in a meeting of some sort.

Big big hugs to you and your family.  I hope everything works out. :wizard:

Thank you for the support!!! It was definately a strange test. I've done ones that are looking for trustworthy people (asking questions regarding theft, etc) & they reword the question 5 different ways. Mike said this wasn't like that. My son really feels he didn't have strong enough opinions on things (he's taken these before) & that's why he didn't move on......but sheesh, how bout making that available online, so people don't drive long distances to not even interview........
We're hoping the manager brings this up at a meeting as well. She realized they were letting a good person go because of it!! Not that we think it will change anything for us, but maybe it will down the road.........

Whew! I just finished your great trip report. How fantastic - you guys seem like you had a lot of fun (on the first trip anyway). So sorry about the non-interview. What a heartbreak. But congrats on the twins! I wish you all good luck!

Thank you very much....it was a wonderful trip!!! The non-interview was disappointing since we had to scrape up the money to get back down there, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

:cool1: We're thrilled about the twins.....thanx!!!

I havent really been able to get online much lately, but I was very anxious to read your 2nd trip report and was so sad that it didnt go as you had planned, *HUGS* hope things start to look up for you, were going thru alot lately and its testing our patience but Im doing lots of praying and will do the same for you.... :goodvibes

:hug:Im so sorry the job didnt work out I know something will come your way good things should happen to such good people. Not just anyone has what it takes to adopt one child let alone 4, especailly children with sensory issues or any issues. God has a plan for you Im very sure. Im not sure how intrested you are in San Diego, but the only park Ive ever experienced to be as clean as Disney was Seaworld, maybe thremight be something there for you guys. Knotts most definatly isnt Disney nore is it any sort of its former self its going through and identity crisis I say. Also I think Derek was right about the test, its the reason I dont work at bank of america, they told me that it was because I was to middle ground. ITs alot of Bs (excuse the french but it is) Much love to you and your family and I really hope something comes your way soon. :lovestruc

Thank you  we figure God has a plan, but I'd sure like a hint at what it is......we've been in limbo since December. We still want to move down to that area, problem is.....how do we get someone there now to interview? We can't just fill up the moving truck with no where to go & hope we get jobs. It's a catch-22, have to move to find work...need work to afford to move. Just keep hoping Disney will call Mike back & say.....we made a mistake.....I can still wish right? :confused3

of course a dream is a wish your heart makes :lovestruc I'm sure you'll find something soon!

Hopefully it will down the road! I agree about making it online. So much more convenient

I totally agree with this!

Thank you soooooo much.

I think we need to find Mike a room to rent & send him down. I know he would find work within a week. We really need him to go down & start working & then find our family a home. We can't leave until school gets out & having someone down there, they could find a rental in a safe area. Problem is, we don't know anyone down there that could rent him a room. We don't have any savings to even get him into a place. This is the only way I see us being able to move down....but too many obstacles in our way.

Maybe I should start a thread on "Needed, cheap room to rent for short term"..... little money, just looking for a hand..... somehow I think it would get closed by the moderators..... since this isn't a classified ads board.

Other than that....I know moving would be possible

Hey I was just wondering I know you did both Lilo and Stitch breakfast and the Goofy's Kitchen one, I was wondering which do you recommend and whats the price's for each? I was trying to find it in your TR, but Im crazey and cant seem to find a price for Goofy's Breakfast.

Keep in mind I saw that the prices were being jacked up during the "busy" season & not sure what they will be when you go......

When we went the prices were as follows:
Goofy's Kitchen Breakfast: $32.21/Adult $17.34/Child
Ariel's Grotto Breakfast: $34.68/Adult $19.82/Child
Lilo-n-Stitch Breakfast: $27.25/Adult $14.86/Child
Goofy's Kitchen Dinner: $39.64/Adult $17.34/Child

I would call Disney Dining right before you go (like tomorrow or Thursday) to get the current prices. Right now you'd get quoted the high price....but hopefully they've come back down. Some of the meals went up by 30% during spring break!!!!

We've budgeted for around 30 per person, Were pretty sure we want to do the Lilo and Stitch one, because we havnt done it before. Thanks!

Hey there Laurie :-]

Wow, lots of accidents on your way down there. Glad none of them happened next to you and that the traffic didn't stop southbound like it did northbound for that motorcycle rider. Bad hotel aye? Well I'll put that one on the "don't stay here" list ;)

Nice that you were able to use the GAC to upgrade the stroller to wheelchair status - they are always so good about things like that there and were very helpful with both my mom and DW's mom when they were using their ECVs. Too bad about them not noticing the fireworks, but that may come later in life and they had one heck of a long day beforehand :goodvibes

Good shots of the ranch, cool theming. It is fun to just explore what they've done with different venues and attractions, all part of the magic.

Cute pics of the girls with their ears on. It looked like a nice sunny morning there, and not too crowded :-]

Hehe, nice shot of the wee one honking minnie's nose. They both looked pretty interactive with both the characters and their balloons :D Awww, too bad about Peter Pan bailing on you - darn that Captain Hook! Wow, they didn't seem to like Tigger at all, but at least they warmed back up for Minnie. Overall that was a pretty character-packed breakfast!

I'm glad you found a cool, quiet place in the GC to let the girls rest. Some very cool old-style theming in there. Good job tag-teaming those FPs you had build up for SM, I'm jealous! Awww, that was very sweet of the fiddle player to stop and play a lullabye for Michayla.

That Winnie the Pooh ride is pretty sensory-oriented with all the sounds and the black light effects. At least they didn't start crying on you. Goof finish with the tag-teaming of BTMRR - whoohoo!

That hotel was pretty disgusting, sorry it turned out to be such a bad one. And the lady at the desk blaming it on the fireworks, what a crock of bull. If that was the case then the hotels closest to the parks would be worse and that is not the case. I hope your TripAdvisor review and letter to corporate do some good or at least save some other vacationers from that mess.

Well it was good to try the girls on the rides and down the road they will probably be able to take in all of that sensory imput and will get more enjoyment out of them. Nice shots in ToonTown, I hadn't noticed Goofy's mailbox before. Great detail shots all through there!

What a bummer about Mike's application process. Those tests are so subjective and there's just no telling what they're looking for. Bottom line is that they're letting a computer do their initial screening, which just seems so anti-Disney :(

Even from such a short time ago, the progress in the lagoon area at CA is pretty amazing. I was wondering if the slowdown of the economy would have and effect on their schedule, but apparently not.

The girls were probably sensing the overall mood from the guys, that coupled with the loud and bright atmosphere of ESPN would have made any kids cranky. Good that you were able to get the food boxed up and get them somewhere quiet.

Yes, a sad end to the trip - just the way some of them go, especially when you start out with such great expectations and have the very place you pin your hopes on give you the shaft :( At least the Krispy Kreme manager added some brightness to the trip home :thumbsup2

I hope something works out for Mike down there, specifically at Disney. Hearing the news that Oregon will most likely be announced as having the highest unemployment rate in the nation doesn't bode well for finding something here :sad2:

You are all in our prayers and I have faith that something will come your way.
