I read elsewhere DVC is offering a $25 gift card if you are referred by an existing member to preview.

Anyone know anything about this?

all i know is if you stay at akl they left a invitation on the bed for 100 gift card if you take the tour that after i had taken the tour for 3 15$ gift cards from a dvc cm at magic kingdom so after i saw this and went back to my cm to buy i mentioned that hey whats the deal you gave me 45 but then i get to akl and they are offering 100gift card he ending up giving me all the gift cards totaling 145$ mind you i did buy 200 points at akv =)

This is a program where you will be taking a phone tour that can last 45 minutes. To get the gift card you need the name and state of the person who referred you and the name of their guide. The referring member also receives a $25 card. Each member has 4 referrals available to them for the $25 gift card. If you have ever called DVC and you are already in there system you do not qualify.

My sister did this and actually did it in person. That was back in November. She asked her guide several times about the gifts cards for both her and us and he assured her that they would be sent. As of now, neither one of us got anything. I am pretty sure that 3 months after the fact....it is not coming. She was even going to buy too!

It seems to be hit or miss. I am not sure why. Some are reporting that they are getting them days after and others are reporting they aren't getting them.

I did this in the fall and my Gift Card came 2 days later by Fedex, I actually had to sign for it! Sorry to hear you didn't get yours.

Just got off the phone with my guide, and will definately receive the gift cards from the people I refered for the phone tours.
The person calling must be new to the DVC system and have never been in contact with DVC before.

I did the phone tour (thanks to the person who invited me!). They told me I would get the gift card but yesterday I got the package with all the DVC info but there was no gift card :sad2: I wonder if it comes by itself or was it supposed to be in the package?

Just pulled out the flyer on this to look for an expiration date on the offer, it says: "The Program will last while supplies of the Gift Cards last". So, nothing definite but I bet it's still available. There is a specific phone number or website to use but I don't know if I'm allowed to post it on the thread.

If I am remembering correctly, the card comes by itself and takes about 30 days to receive. I believe it's set up that way to make sure the people taking the tour have plenty of time to review the materials or contact the guide with questions. Also, there's probably a 3rd party involved that actually processes the giftcard and therefore takes a bit longer.

I received my gift card today. It came Fedex and I had to sign for it. I am waiting to hear if the people I referred received them also.

I hate to say it but DVC is evidentally being selective as to who they send the gift cards. I referred 5 people to take the phone tour and only received one card. One of my referrals called back again and DVC pretended the information was never entered into the system. We both received our gift cards a few days later. If you're actually going to receive a gift card, it will arrive in just a few days. I have now received a total of 2 out of 5 cards. Another one of my referrals has even made two follow up calls but still hasn't received anything. DVC hasn't even bothered to send them the promotional information either. To me, it appears that DVC is only sending cards to those they feel will buy into the program. I consider the Phone Tour Offer a scam but there's no way any of us can prove it.

I think it's the guide that's supposed to be following through with having the marketing materials mailed as well as reporting who completed the "tour" and is eligible for the giftcard. Do you find your guide to be attentive to your needs, or only so-so? Not trying to bash anyone's guide, just wondering if that's where the ball got dropped. :(

My sister said she liked her guide and even was sent papers to buy in after they got home. Neither of us ever got our cards. She ended up not buying in and now I am wondering if that is why we did not get ours.

Kristine -- You should just call your guide and ask about it. Even though a few months have passed, they should still have the information on file and either send you the cards or give you a reason why not. Good luck! :goodvibes

I think I just found the reason why you didn't get the giftcard -- You list your location as Minnesota, if that is where you actually reside, that state is not in the eligible jurisdiction for the Sharing the Magic program (which the giftcards fall under). Does your sister live in Minnesota too?

Current "Eligible Jurisdiction" is: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Wisconsin.

Not only have follow up phone calls been made, I've sent an e-mail to my guide and still no response and no gift card. I live in North Carolina so both myself and my referral qualify for the gift card.

You definitely shouldn't have to work so hard for $25...I think you might want to look into having a different guide assigned if yours won't even reply. :(

That's what we did in 2008. Our guide was so slow to respond it made me crazy. On top of that, he consistently gave us wrong info. We called up and requested a new guide, no questions asked. Been VERY happy ever since!;)

Here is a question about the jurisidictions: If you, the referring, live in a state that is eligible but the one who takes the tour does not, then do you still recieve the CG and the other won't , or will you both not get it? Just curious!
