I"d bring some healthy english muffins or bread, toast it in the food court and just buy some fruit and yogurt in the mornings. That's about the healthiest options I've seen at the food courts, for breakfast. I don't remember seeing boiled eggs which is a pretty healthy option, but maybe someone who's been more than I can remember.

SO my DH and I are on a new diet, exercise regimen - P90X beach body.

We are going to be at WDW in May. In all the time I visited WDW I never kept a diet but this time I really want to do so. I am troubled by the discussions about food quality slipping and price increases. So now here I sit, a WDW veteran by most standards, and I'm not sure how to feed my family for our trip.

My favorite morning meal is 2 poached eggs and some wheat toast and DH likes egg white omelets. Sounds simple but I don't want the grease I can only imagine they cook with in the food courts, and I don't want to spend $50 for a simple breakfast that costs $2 at home. So is there a nice diner near the resorts or a simple breakfast shop, what about a simple healthy breakfast shop on property? We will have a rental car, I would prefer to get what I want on property but will totally leave if there are no good options available for us. I'm also thinking about taking dinner off property for at least some of our meals for many of the same reasons. I think we'll be staying at the POR Riverside and was planning on eating at Boatrights but that's gone now so I'm stuck.

Any help would be wonderful.

Well, I think it is admirable that you are willing to stick to or try to stick to your regular eating regiment but have to say, WOW, I think that is gonna be really tough.
I would seriously consider accommodations that your can cook in, like the villas, cabins or something so you can buy what you need before your arrive and then eat your breakfasts and dinners there to meet your needs. We LOVE por but I have never seen anyone get a egg white omelet and it is something my dh eats at home, but skips at por....I think that you will have to go off property which not only takes time (like atleast an hour to go somewhere, eat and return) and then do that 2 times a day, but also I think takes away from the whole disney experience....sounds like a lot of effort versus having a room that has a kitchen area.....maybe you shop for your food before check in and then atleast do your breakfasts in a room with a hotplate??? Not even sure you can do that actually :confused3
Wish I knew of more ideas but think others will also chime in here.
Good Luck!

What do you mean healthy??? I was under the assumption that all food in WDW had 0 calories, 0 fat, 0 carbs, and 0 everything else bad!!!! It's all part of the MAGIC!! :rotfl2:

I'm fairly certain that anywhere that has a breakfast menu in Disney that includes eggs in some form will make a poached egg and toast if you ask. They are very accommodating if it's at all possible. You just have to ask. :-)

You'll have a great time, OP. I know it's not the healthiest food, but we never gain weight (sometimes even lose!!) in Disney cause of all the exercise:yay: you get walking around ALL DAY!
