I know that SSR goes to 2054 and probably any new resorts which get built from here on. But, what happens to all the current resorts when they reach the end of their DVC contracts?

Will DVC continue with these properties? Will they begin selling new contracts to new DVC members in 2042, or will they just become regular resorts at Disney?

Even though I may not be around to care at that time, I was just wondering if anyone knows what the long term plan is?

We probably won't have any idea until we get a lot closer to our 2042 date (like 15 years away).

I doubt even DVD knows the answer to that one just yet. I think one of the reasons DVC is a limited time ownership is because the attraction it is attached to is an entertainment venue. If that would fail, then the DVC resorts that are on site would lose their major appeal.

I expect that they would also feel they would need enough renovation by then that they would like the option to rebuild with all new buildings and themes etc.

I don't plan to worry about it, since I will be mid 90's by then!

I'll bet they offer a renual for some additional years to current members to fund some refurbishment. Look at the age of Contemporary and Poly.

Turn into pumpkins after the clock strikes 12 to open the year 2042.
