2027 Disney Summer Cruises

I can’t believe that the Treasure will continue to only sail 7 night itineraries through 2027…I guess they must be selling well, but I have to imagine there are a lot of us waiting to complete our collection without doing a full week on a Wish class ship.

That seems so odd to me as someone that thinks even a 5-night cruise is way too short 😅 I wish DCL were much more heavily focused on 6-8 night sailings across the fleet.

Adventure still nothing longer then 4 nights and no port stops. So its a no from me. Even if they are super cheap.

I think demand for the Adventure is going to plummet rapidly without port stops. People say that Singaporeans like characters and shows but I doubt they'll treat the ship like an equivalent experience at the parks indefinitely. Same reason that their Australian sailings underperformed, yet Disney is insistent on carving out these portless-itineraries even though the market keeps telling them that a Disney cruise needs to actually go somewhere. Anywhere.

Royal also does a lot of the short cruises in Asia and Europe. NCL, Celebrity, and Princess offer good long itineraries in those markets in the mid range price.
To be honest Carnivals Europe cruises are decent. They are on a old ship, but at they are all 8-12 nights with decent ports. Disney needs to put two ships in Europe one for the locals and one for the rest of the world that wants to go on long port intensive cruises.

You know, I think Carnival would be a great option in Europe. With the amount of "comfort food" options that have long opening hours, that would work well with a port-intensive cruise. Also, the crowd on a Carnival European sailing (or, for that matter, just any 7+ day Carnival sailing) will NOT be a party crowd and I would imagine be very family friendly.

Celebrity, HAL, and Princess are also good options. Lastly, if everyone is 18+, I'd say perhaps Virgin Voyages may be the best option. One thing I like about Virgin, Celebrity and Princess is that they sail out of Athens instead of Rome. Having done both, I much preferred sailing out of Athens.

We’ve done DCL in Europe once and Celebrity/Princess/Royal/Seabourn several times and I concur with @tidefan (though carnival would be towards the bottom of my list, it’s fine if you’re just trying to relax between ports). It’s hard to justify the Disney experience premium if you plan to spend more than 50% of your days on shore, and the lack of flexible evening dining options on DCL is especially tough if your goal is to maximize time in port.

We enjoyed our DCL cruise to Northern Europe and would do it again if it was priced the same as Princess/Royal (or less than Celebrity/Seabourn) but unless you’re a DCL die hard or it’s your only chance to sail with DCL, I wouldn’t recommend it for European sailings….though I will say we loved general knowledge trivia on a European sailings in September— it was all American history and almost no Americans in the room, we crushed it. 🤣 The main reason I don’t recommend it is because there is so much we want to cram in on sea days it makes the trip even more exhausting! On other lines, we tend to just read on our balcony without feeling any FOMO.

There are literally billions of Asians that have never done a Disney cruise. Hard to imagine lack of demand anytime soon. Also millions of current DCL cruisers like myself who will want to see the new ship. (not saying millions will)

The no ports for the Adventure likely have everything to do with Singapore not wanting them to.

This. The Disney Adventure is partially funded by the Singapore Tourist Board, which wants guests to visit Singapore rather than other ports, so it will be sailing "cruises to nowhere" for probably the next 5 years.

The initial press release (https://www.stb.gov.sg/about-stb/me...g-magical-cruise-vacations-to-southeast-asia/) said:
Under a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding, Disney Cruise Line and Singapore Tourism Board agreed to collaborate to homeport a brand-new Disney cruise ship exclusively in Singapore for at least five years beginning in 2025. More details about the maiden voyage, itineraries and onboard experiences will be announced at a later date.

A 2024 press release (https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rel...sailing-from-singapore-in-2025-302183101.html) said:
Beginning in 2025, the Disney Adventure will sail three- and four-night cruises from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre for at least five years as part of a collaboration between Disney Cruise Line and Singapore Tourism Board.

Was really wishing for some NYC, Boston, Prince Edward Island type of cruises.

I did do a survey for Disney just recently end of December and they had New York, and Charlottetown as places to choose from to cruise to.
I completed a similar survey awhile back. We loved those cruises in the past. Many of them were in the fall, so keeping fingers crossed that some will show up in the fall release.

I've done Carnival in the Med on a new ship back in 2016. It was a great cruise with great ports. I'm doing NCL this Summer on a newish ship the Viva. There are no sea days. If I'm going to do a cruise in Europe it's all about the ports.

I have cruised on DCL In Europe Iceland and the Baltics both were 12 nights and port intensive. They seem to have abandoned those type of cruises. I don't think marketing to just Europeans is going to work. No other cruise line does this.

No Iceland ports? Do the European itineraries seem down or am I imagining it, ( good possibility I am lol).

They haven’t had Iceland ports since 2023? Maybe 2022? Basically when they realised they could make a lot of money doing a month of short cruises from the UK. Whatever year they did it last in they had to deeply discount that cruise too.

I hope they bring another ship to Europe so they bring back the Norwegian Fjords cruise outside of peak holiday time. I do not want to pay that price for a 7 night cruise, even with the offset cost of not having to fly to the port.

The only DCL cruise in Europe we’ve done is Norwegian Fjords. 8 nights and 2 sea days. I’d have preferred only 1; we like a sea day to just have some recovery time from go-go-go at ports.

We did NCL for a Mediterranean cruise because it had a better itinerary and was significantly cheaper. It was not Disney, however, and we definitely missed the service and experience of Disney, but for the price, we wanted lots of ports and the itinerary we wanted.

Though, I chose the NCL itinerary I did because it stopped in Croatia, but then a few weeks before sailing it dropped Croatia and added Malta. Which was still nice, but I picked that itinerary because it hit the Greek and Italian ports we wanted AND Croatia, so I confess I was little frustrated at that.

On one hand, I guess I’m glad none of the itineraries really interest me in Europe, as we’ve been tentatively considering 2027 the year we finally do Machu Picchu… or maybe AbD China if it’s offered and completing our “visiting every Disney park in the world.”

The sailing that does peak my interest - from a just relax in the sun perspective - is the 5-night in August that does Castaway Cay, Lookout Point, Castaway Cay. ;-)

A Norwegian Fjords with just one sea day is not going to happen. Disney depart from either Southampton in England or Copenhagen in Denmark on Northern Europe cruises. From both of these ports you need 1 sea day to get to Norway and one sea day to return to the home port. Its logistically impossible to get to Norway without travelling through the North Sea.

I specifically looked for Iceland earlier today and didn’t see it, but wouldn’t bet my life on it as I was just quickly skimming the site.
Iceland has put restrictions in place for how many cruise ships can be in port as well as environmental requirements for the ships wanting to dock. It's possible other lines have already claimed the slots or maybe DCL didn't want to deal with them.

Norway is doing the same, so very likely the Norwegian Fjords cruises will be reduced or not be on Disney itineraries in the future.

NCL is doing 7 and 9 night one way baltic cruises from Copenhagen to Helsinki that have port stops in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Gydnia, Stockholm, Oslo, 2 in Germany. One sea day on the 9 night and none on the 7. It's an older ship, but the cruises are about sold out this year. I booked one for next year.

I'm not sure why DCL can't put the Magic or Wonder in Europe with some better itineraries. It think they would sell. It doesn't seem like Disney wants to keep their customer base as they age and want to travel to different places. It's all about short cruises and first time cruisers.

Disney have seen a changing market in Europe since the shut down and restart. The cruises to nowhere in England in 2021 opened up a huge amount of Disney families to Disney cruising. In the UK, August is main summer holiday time for families due to the UK strict laws about taking children out of school for holidays. There is huge demand from UK families for the short cruises in August. Disney most defiantly want to keep that customer base, there is now a huge amount of Disney families who are Silver and Gold Castaway members who have never been on a Caribbean or Bahama cruise. Those UK Silver and Gold Castaway members are now wanting to travel to different places and are now adding on a Caribbean or Bahama cruise to their Walt Disney World holiday.

What Disney are doing is marketing 101, giving different people different products to suit their needs and wants. Americans want US based or Med cruises long cruises on the new ships, UK people want UK based short cruises in August and don't have a preference about what ship they sail on.

UK people and Americans are at different points in their cruising timeline, so they need different things :)
