2026 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend

mine was on my iphone mini 12 running Safari. Of course it was the smallest device that got in first. :rotfl: With my phone I was at 36 minutes pretty quickly. I was shocked.

My husband's laptop running Chrome got down to like 31 minutes when I got in on my phone

Our Apple desktop running Safari was still at over an hour by the time I was finished on my phone.

DH speculates that if they are doing some IP checking/blocking, the best way around that is to use different internet access points -- ie wifi on your computer and cell signal on your phone.

It also appears the queue ID may be viewable in the code of the waiting page, and with a bit of creative URL reconstruction it could be shared. It's not the most straightforward process, and it has not been successfully tested in real time as far as I can find.

I volunteer to help test when MW registration opens in March since I already have my bib if you think you figure something out.

very fortunate today and was prepared to walk away with nothing but was able to sign up for the half. i want to say opera got me in today and queue time started at 21 mins but got in under 15 mins waiting. first time getting in queue with less than an hour wait.

That didn't help me much - I was thinking about that and had both my phones off wifi. iPad on VPN to NYC and my MacBook on my home wifi - no VPN. (I figured I had all bases covered)

My first browser (MS Edge on MacBook to home wifi ) to connect was a few minutes after the Challenge sold out. No other device / browser finished before all races were sold out.

Also - I was not logged into any Disney account other than through safari on my Mac - just in case they wanted to get to that level of sophistication.

I'm really not sure what conclusion to draw from this other than I had bad luck - and make friends - because that's the only way I got in :)

Everything worked as usual, they simply hid the easy queue sharing. Those who were successful in opening multiple unique browsers in the past should have had the same experience today (you just couldn't easily verify that you had unique queues). I don't want to say much more about it because they are obviously trying to crack down on it, but the queue links were still there, just not as easy to find and share as in the past.

Nothing to do with IP addresses or anything, I did get a few very quick queues (amongst many more 1 hour + ones) in a similar ratio that I've experienced in the past.

For the first time in 12 years of races (today made me extremely grateful for the luck I had in the past), I did not get the registration I was going for but did get the half instead of the challenge for my running party (of course this is the first time bringing friends into runDisney and we all had our hearts set on the challenge).

Wondering if anyone has been successful in stalking the race openings (I know there's a twitter account for this) and transferring to a higher distance? I imagine it's rare but I saw some people discussing on instagram and curious if anyone has tips or has tried

A lot of people have upgraded to challenges with no issues. Have a feeling it’s just going to get more and more competitive though, every time there’s a race sellout the questions about “can i still get in?” come out and that means more people clued into the alerts. This weekend just felt a lot more difficult. Went completely smoothly too! Just difficult, seems like more people missed out.

So glad @GuinnessRunner was able to help you get in. It would not be the same if you weren’t there!
For the first time ever, I got a 1 minute queue! After I discovered that I could stay in the queue, sign myself out, and sign into DH’s account and let him register after I finished, I realize that I could have done the same for someone else. All you’d have to do is give me your account email, password, credit card numbers, and a little other info. I could have gotten you in! 🤣😂🤣 (Seriously, I was watching your posts and hoping you would make it in time!)

First time my wife and her friends were not able to get in the 10k.
Will there be openings here or there? Is it worth stalking the website?
I am not in the know on the nuances of RunDisney. Help!

Will there be openings here or there?
Most likely yes but they'll be released in very small spurts. Like one or two at a time spurts.

Is it worth stalking the website?
Probably not. You can sign up for a Telegram channel called "rundisalerts" that sends out notifications when openings pop up but just a fair warning: a lot of other people are doing the same thing. You'll get the alert, and you'll have to beat out however many people are also trying to sign up for that race, and usually they disappear in two minutes.

Charity bib is also an option.

Yes, I did for Marathon Weekend 2025. I originally signed up for the Marathon, and switched to the Half a month before race day.

I used the race alerts from TeamRunDis (not sure which social platform, I followed a few). It seems Disney drops additional registration availability in clusters, so when I noticed availability for other races popping up, I paid close attention to my alerts for a few days.

When I saw the Half alert, I actually went straight to my runDisney account, went to my Marathon race registration, and used the Switch Registration button in the lower right of my Marathon reg to switch to the Half. I was lucky: the Half option was still showing (so it was possibly still available), and I clicked to switch. It worked.

This is VERY RISKY though -- the extra steps/time required to attempt a switch, rather than just grab a brand new registration, may mean you miss it. (I did miss it on multiple prior attempts.) If you are not OK with that risk, you should just immediately click the TeamRunDis alert and try to do a brand new registration. (You probably won't get your money back for your original registration, but I'm not sure if Disney offers anything at all to those who plead their case in that scenario.)

My advice for if you try to use Telegram alerts is to open registration up as soon as an event in your desired weekend is available and then get into that page, then wait until your specific race is open and you can select it. That way you are past the queue when your race is open
I agree - it seems when something opens up other races open up very soon afterwards - they seem to do it in batches.

I was successful getting the DL Half in 2024 by following them. It will be hit or miss but remember that every time the races open up someone manages to register.

Thank y'all for your advice! I was succesful once before in snagging a new registration from a telegram link but with the running party being 6 people and all of us needing to snag those links to upgrade, I think we're just going to come to terms with the half being our race for this year - one less 2am wakeup day I guess!

Friend registered for me after he did - he never received an email, but got the confirmation screen (and #) and I also show up under his portal, and have a credit card charge.

That means I'm good...right?
